Chapter 175 - 172: Lu Jin Saves Someone

Chapter 175: Chapter 172: Lu Jin Saves Someone

Su Mo carried her superpower and swiftly weaved through the crowd, having searched the shopping street and the task distribution hall; she finally halted her steps in an alley of a superpower user residential area.

Here, the light was extremely dark, formed by old-style residential buildings.

She maximized her senses, putting her ears and eyes to their utmost use; a very faint cracking sound ultimately caused her gaze to settle on the road between two residential buildings.

She took a step forward, panting slightly, and walked in.

In the darkness where she could clearly see, she stopped at the mouth of the alley.

Inside her, rage was soaring by the minute.

In the alleyway, Zhao Changsheng lay on the ground, his face flushed, with three men nearby, starting to undress.

"This chick ain’t bad, eh? This round of drinks was worth it."

"She can hold her liquor, cost me twenty Level 1 Crystal Cores. Gotta make my money back."

"Look at that figure, tsk tsk!"

Foul and vulgar words were spoken, making Su Mo’s pretty face darken as her voice, laden with anger, echoed in the alley, "Have you touched her?"

Hearing someone, the three men immediately turned around, and seeing a woman in the spotty light, they cheered about their luck:

"Another one, haha!"

"We’re in for a profit today!"

"We haven’t touched this one yet. Baby, you wanna join?"

With no one around, Su Mo released all her Level 3 oppressive force directed at the threesome, who were immediately terrified, the overwhelming force pressing them to the ground so they couldn’t even crawl back up.

"You dare lay a hand on me! I’ll make sure you can’t get by in the Second Ring!" The men wailed in pain.

One sleazy man even yelled up towards the residential building, "Boss! Someone’s here to trash our place!"

Su Mo walked over and stepped on one of the men’s faces, her round pupils flashing with cold light as she pressed down even harder.

From inside the residential building, multiple sets of footsteps were heard; Su Mo turned alertly to see dozens of people rushing down from the two buildings and encircling her completely.

Half-open, a window upstairs allowed the ember of a cigarette to fall, and a rough, impatient voice came through, "Don’t kill them."

Su Mo positioned herself in front of Zhao Changsheng, and after scoping out the terrain on both sides, she frowned and then raised her head, her aura of deadly intent growing even sharper, "If you dare lay a hand on me, you will regret it."

Although she had reached Level 3, with so many superpower users against her, she couldn’t be sure to protect herself, only able to delay time and hope Li Qian would find her.

In a room, there sat a man with a bald head and a long scar atop, who upon hearing this, let out a disdainful cold laugh and nonchalantly threw away his cigarette butt, grabbing the woman kneeling by his side to indulge his pleasure.

This discarded cigarette butt was like an order.

The leading superpower user unleashed his abilities one after another, targeting Su Mo.

Su Mo immediately activated her superpower to dodge; she moved like the wind amidst the superpower users, avoiding the sharp, whipping vines aimed at her by leapfrogging off the wall, while a fireball grazed past her ear, burning off a clump of her hair.

More and more wounds covered her body, yet she still stood resolutely in front of Zhao Changsheng.

Zhao Changsheng, drugged and drunk, lay powerless with her hands and feet limp, her blurry, beautiful eyes following Su Mo’s silhouette, and suddenly, tears fell from the corners of her eyes.

Lu Jin stood at the entrance of the alley for a while, sniffing the unique, sweet and bloody scent in the air. His dark eyes slightly narrowed with a hint of indulgence, "So fragrant."

More and more wounds appeared on Su Mo’s body, and her speed in fending off attacks slowed down.

The scent in the air grew thicker and thicker.

Lu Jin finally snapped out of his bizarre trance. The air around him fluctuated, and after a distortion of space, he vanished from the spot.

The Fire Ability User, who had been about to deal Su Mo a fatal blow, suddenly felt a chill down his spine.

A tall, imposing man with a hint of murderous aura suddenly appeared upfront. Without a chance to resist, his neck was directly twisted and broken by the man’s hand.

Surprised, Su Mo wondered, how is he here.

"Ah!"

With undetectable superpowers and eerie killing techniques, Lu Jin’s figure was something those lower-level superpower users simply couldn’t catch.

Su Mo witnessed a miraculous scene; the man stood right in front of her while the space in the distance twisted bizarrely. His hand reached out from that twisted space and directly clutched an enemy’s skull, bursting it open like crushing a watermelon.

At that sight, Su Mo couldn’t help but turn her eyes away, feeling nauseous at the thought of crushing someone’s head with bare hands.

Lu Jin’s eyes were filled with brutality and ferocity, the restlessness provoked by the scent of blood only subsiding after he killed one superpower user after another.

Screams echoed throughout the alley. Upstairs, the Bald man finally realized something was wrong. When he looked again, the sight of blood and bodies scattered everywhere made his guts wrench.

Leaning on Zhao Changsheng, Su Mo exited the alley and once again thanked Lu Jin, this time with a hint of sincerity, "Thank you."

The man seemed to still be savoring the recent slaughter. When he turned his head to look at her, the violent nature in his pitch-black eyes had not yet faded away, and the excitement of the killing made the corners turn a faint red, "You owe me a favor."

"..." Su Mo nodded in agreement. She owed him, indeed, but whether she would repay that debt was another matter.

Lu Jin disappeared at the corner. Su Mo, half-carrying Zhao Changsheng, walked into the bustling streets.

"I was wrong, Momo." Zhao Changsheng’s face was buried in her shoulder, and Su Mo could feel her collar getting wet. She looked down with a gentle tone, "Let’s go home."

Li Qian was shocked to see the severely injured Su Mo and quickly took over Zhao Changsheng, carrying him horizontally, "How did this happen?"

"It’s nothing, let’s go back," Su Mo shook her head. She then turned and glanced at the old, dark residential building in the distance, hiding her emotions.

After Lu Chen conducted a fruitless search with his troops and found out Su Mo had located the person, he hurried back.

Hiding behind a pile of trash, Su Huaguang and Mrs. Su, both with bruised noses and swollen faces, had been squatting for days without seeing Su Mo. Not daring to approach Lu Chen, they limped back to their shabby tent.

"I’m about to die, and you can’t even bring back something to eat!"

The man on the bed, his legs already rotting and stinking, threw a pillow at Su Huaguang and Mrs. Su as they walked in. His face was deathly pale, his rotten legs barely concealing the white maggots wriggling within.

Mrs. Su’s tears fell. She hadn’t expected that the rice they’d just brought back, not even warmed yet, had been stolen, "Hang in there, son. We’ll see your sister soon!"

Su Zhi roared angrily, blaming his useless parents. His mind was unusually sharp, "Are you stupid! Why did you refuse when Su Mo said she would send food regularly? It was a form of protection, and you still refused!"

Su Huaguang was also deeply annoyed. His hand, missing a finger, slapped Mrs. Su’s face, "All because of your damn greed wanting to take it all at once! Look what that brought us!"

Mrs. Su collapsed on the ground, sobbing loudly, "Why is my life so miserable? Not only am I scorned by my daughter, but now you two heartless men are blaming me."
