Chapter 153: Chapter 150: Lu Yuan Stirs Up Trouble
"Huh?" Su Mo was stunned, "You want to help me blow-dry it?"
"Mhm."
Getting a firm reply from the man, Su Mo was somewhat flattered. She sat in front of the vanity mirror and said dazedly, "No one has ever blow-dried my hair for me."
Lu Chen’s gaze softened, he picked up the hairdryer, and his slender fingers threaded through her hair, starting to blow-dry it skillfully.
Hmm... it seemed a bit long.
Su Mo initially thought it somewhat resembled the real deal, until the hairdryer stayed fixed in one place, and she couldn’t bear the heat anymore. She glanced weakly up at the man focused on her hair above her, "It’s hot... don’t blow in one spot."
Lu Chen’s hand paused, he put down the hairdryer, rubbed her head, and indeed found one spot on her scalp unusually hot. His eyes filled with regret, he said, "You do it yourself."
Su Mo felt he seemed somewhat deflated and quickly grabbed his hand, "We should finish it."
"It might burn you," Lu Chen said with a dim expression, feeling truly inept at taking care of others.
Su Mo didn’t want to let him be too upset over blow-drying hair. She held onto his hand and cheerfully said, "You’ll get the hang of it after a few more times."
With her insistence, Lu Chen picked up the hairdryer again. This time he was much more careful, constantly shielding his hand in front of the nozzle to avoid burning her.
After finishing, when Su Mo went to pull his hand, she saw that the back of his hand was red.
"Are you... silly?" she asked tenderly as she cradled his hand and blew on it. If she had known, she would have done it herself; how could she forget her man was a bit slow with common sense.
"It’s fine," Lu Chen took a look at her dry, soft hair, then glanced at his reddened hand and instantly felt that this blow-drying session was quite good. He even felt a slight sense of superiority spreading in his heart.
His expressionless face somehow conveyed an indifferent attitude to Su Mo. She felt helpless and made him drink some Biluochun tea. Only after the red marks faded did she breathe a sigh of relief.
"Come on, let’s go to sleep," she pulled him to the bed and snuggled into the covers.
It was a soft, foam mattress, and she excitedly rolled around in it. As Lu Chen lay down on the other side, she immediately rolled over and embraced his arm:
"Aunt Jiang, I have a way to save both the adults and the children."
Lu Chen looked down at her, his eyes brightening, "By cooking?"
Su Mo nodded, then suddenly frowned, "But we need to find a way to stop her from taking that medicine. I also need a lot of zombies to exchange for recipes."
"That stuff damages her body too much; she’s gotten so thin," she raised her head, worry evident in her eyes.
Lu Chen turned to embrace her waist, pressing her against his chest. In a place she couldn’t see, his eyes hid a bone-chilling coldness, "I’ll take care of it."
Su Mo closed her eyes. The room fell silent for a while, then she suddenly asked in a muffled voice within his embrace, "If it had been the end of the world that day and Aunt Jiang hadn’t asked you to come, would you have come to find me?"
The man held her and turned over, making Su Mo end up lying on his chest. All she heard was his somewhat resigned response:
"What answer do you want to hear?"
Actually, whether Lu Chen would have come or not wouldn’t affect Su Mo’s feelings for him, but she was just whimsically curious. She rested her chin on his chest and smiled, "Any answer will do."
"I wouldn’t," Lu Chen said crisply.
Su Mo wasn’t upset; she moved closer, expectantly saying, "What about now?"
The man’s hand caressed her face, his eyes dark, and he whispered lowly, "If you wish, I’d give my life for you."
Of course, from the beginning, he had never planned to give up on her, even though saying it out loud felt somewhat awkward to Lu Chen.
Within a day, Su Mo’s heart had set off fireworks twice. She adored hearing this man utter sweet nothings that didn’t sound cheesy to her. She gazed at him and softly said, "Forget the life, once Aunt Jiang’s matter is settled, let’s strive to live our future days well, okay?"
"Okay," Lu Chen’s eyes softened.
Su Mo took the initiative to kiss those thin lips. That night, nearly all the man’s restraint was on the brink of collapse, except for guarding that last line of defense; Su Mo was thoroughly devoured.
Early the next morning, the person next to her was already gone. There was some noise downstairs, she lazily sat up from the bed, yawned and walked into the bathroom.
"Hm...?" She glanced at herself in the mirror and immediately sobered up. She opened her clothes again to examine herself and involuntary rolled her eyes. That man not only was reserved but also dogged, considering how he had marked her, leaving all these traces.
"Sigh..." Su Mo sighed again in front of the mirror. Given how proactive she had been last night, the fact that Lu Chen hadn’t devoured her wounded her pride deeply. She felt quite justified in questioning whether he was really incapable.
The noise downstairs seemed to grow louder, mixed with the indistinct voice of Zhao Changsheng.
Su Mo had no choice but to throw on a jacket and go downstairs to check. The living room was filled with people; Ling Ye had changed back into his clothes and was sitting next to Su Niang, nibbling on some bread.
"Are you the woman Lu Chen brought back?" Lu Yuan was nearly furious, having just been informed by the previous day’s lookout that Lu Chen had brought a woman home, and she was boiling with rage!
"What are you talking about, don’t test my patience," Zhao Changsheng, holding the Thunder Whip, crackled threateningly, blocking a group of people outside.
"Afraid of you? Old Five, beat her to death for me," Lu Yuan stepped back as four muscular men immediately advanced a few steps, their superpowers gathering in their hands.
All were Level 2 superpower users.
"What’s all this noise?" Su Mo sneezed, sniffed her nose, and came down the stairs, thinking she must have caught a cold from the bath yesterday.
"Momo, let Jianxiong and I handle this, you go back to sleep," Zhao Changsheng turned around to persuade Su Mo.
"It’s fine, sister, go back to sleep," Jianxiong’s muscles were taut, Bone Spurs protruding from his hands, his face fierce.
"And who are you, where is Brother Lu?" When Lu Yuan saw the petite figure inside the house, her beautiful eyes glared fixedly at her.
Rival in love? Su Mo scrutinized her and thought she looked pretty attractive. She waved to Zhao Changsheng, "Let the guests in to talk."
If there’s going to be a fight, at least close the doors first.
She very well concealed her aura. When Lu Yuan led a group inside and marched toward Zhao Changsheng, Jianxiong’s massive form shielded the woman behind him completely:
Lu Yuan scoffed mockingly, "What’s the matter? Scared? Not coming out? Shameless fox!"
She even felt envious thinking, this woman’s figure is so appealing, no wonder Brother Lu could fall for her.
Zhao Changsheng was so agitated that she even drew out her Thunder Whip, but she was firmly repressed by Jianxiong; the two now differed by one level, and she truly had no way to resist.
Su Mo slumped onto the sofa and said lazily, "The fox spirit is right here. You have the wrong person."
Lu Yuan was taken aback, she turned her head, her brows were furrowed in displeasure: "You?"
"Yeah, me," Su Mo nodded and pointed at her nose.
As Lu Yuan approached her, she saw the dense kiss marks hidden on her neck, at which point she seethed, the lightning in her hands intensifying...
