In their conversation, the towering bell tower in front of them appeared increasingly immense, like a fierce beast looming in the darkness.

The massive clock face was suspended midway up the tower.

The three of them sat in the car, and Lu Chen, taking a dish of Bok Choy out of the Space, said coldly, "We’re climbing up."

Although Su Mo could originally shield from spiritual detection, she wasn’t sure if it still worked against advanced creatures.

She tugged at Lu Chen’s sleeve and whispered, "Li Qian and I take one wall, you take the opposite. In case something happens, we’ll regroup."

Lu Chen instantly refused, "Impossible."

"I think it’s better if we stick together," Li Qian said warmly, "In case of an emergency, the two of us might not be able to handle it."

Hearing this, she dismissed the idea she just had. Li Qian’s combat power was even lower than hers; she really couldn’t ensure his safety if something happened.

Since they couldn’t be detected, Li Qian simply discontinued his superpower, and the three stood at the base of the bell tower.

This building was the tallest in Yan City, built with red bricks; it looked remarkably spectacular. The side of the building featured windows on each floor, with stairs spiraling upwards inside.

Lu Chen examined the walls for a while, then took out some braised Crucian Carp from the Space. "Let’s eat before we go up."

Having just eaten the strength-boosting fish on the ground floor, climbing now felt effortless. She looked towards the distant rooftop and swiftly climbed upwards using her superpower.

"Su Mo," Lu Chen called out softly from beneath her.

She immediately stopped, her feet suspended dozens of meters above ground, and tried to focus on the man below, "What’s up?"

Lu Chen released one hand and suddenly a pair of binoculars appeared, which he tossed up to her, "Catch."

She quickly caught them and slipped the attached strap over her neck, then hastened her pace.

As she climbed higher, her visibility expanded, and although she had night vision, she couldn’t clearly see the situation a few kilometers away because of her limited superpower level.

She only saw a blur of dots, and when she had climbed halfway, she stopped and placed the binoculars hanging around her neck to her eyes.

Looking out from one side of the Bell Tower, every few kilometers, there was a horde of zombies, bustling about. Only the area near the Bell Tower was sparse.

She put down the binoculars and climbed to the back of the Bell Tower. From a quick glance at her map, this direction should be near the city exit.

Picking up the binoculars again, the view made her furrow her brows. Just as the engineer had said, groups of zombies were gathered, surrounding the area for some unknown reason.

Seeing this, Su Mo felt they must rescue others now. What that person had said was true; their current firepower couldn’t penetrate so many zombies.

Together, the superpower users numbered only sixty something, while the zombie horde definitely surpassed tens of thousands.

Su Mo put down her binoculars and slowly moved back to her original climbing spot, her expression grave as she gestured downwards to the two others not to come up.

Lu Chen and Li Qian didn’t continue climbing either; they heard a "tapping" sound from inside the tower, as if something was walking with its claws.

Lu Chen immediately looked up and made a shushing gesture to Su Mo, signaling her to climb quickly.

Su Mo’s heart tightened, realizing something was happening, and she quickened her movements.

The closer she got to the two men, the more clearly she could hear the "tapping" sound, and it was getting denser.

Li Qian pointed towards the front of the Bell Tower to show Su Mo where to move.

She nodded, then crawled with the two men to the front of the Bell Tower and started descending rapidly.

Her speed superpower allowed her to quickly catch up to the two men.

There was a "crash", and the windows on both sides of the Bell Tower shattered, the tapping sound now right beside them.

Su Mo climbed down faster, being the first to reach the ground. She took a few steps back before she could clearly see what had broken through the window.

Spiders, a meter-long giant spider, with eyes atop its head, black and ominous like they were drawn with a compass, made Su Mo feel her legs might give out. Lu Chen and Li Qian were still descending, but with a single leap, the spider could cover several meters downwards, seemingly ready to encircle the two men on the wall.

This forced her to break her silence, "Climb quickly! They can jump!"

Lu Chen, pressing against the wall, glanced up and then said to Li Qian in a grave tone, "Let go."

Li Qian thought for a few seconds, but after seeing several pairs of huge black and white spider legs above, he let go of his hold without any hesitation, plummeting alongside the wall.

Lu Chen’s eyes darkened, and he instantly let go, falling alongside him.

Just before they hit the ground, he growled, "Hold tight."

Li Qian grabbed onto Lu Chen’s lower leg.

Lu Chen placed one hand on the wall, sharp barbs shooting out and embedding into the surface.

The rapid descent, the massive impact, carrying the weight of two men, instantly dislocated his arm and caused a tear.

Su Mo watched from below, her heart pounding in fear. Lu Chen’s actions indeed quickly increased his distance from the spider as the two men hit the ground.

She quickly went over to help Lu Chen, his right arm hanging loosely at his side, with traces of blood seeping out.

Li Qian ran to start the car, "Get in!"

She helped Lu Chen get into the car just as the door closed; a spider jumped directly onto their roof, its sharp hook-like legs trying to pierce through the metal net above to impale the people inside.
