Chapter 114 - 111: What’s the Harm in Satisfying Her?

Chapter 114: Chapter 111: What’s the Harm in Satisfying Her?

Just because her name was Changsheng, he got jealous?!

"Mhm," he leaned close to her and bit her neck as if to punish.

Su Mo felt a jolt of electricity strike her heart, and the numbness on her neck made her legs weak. She pushed against the man’s shoulders in a gentle voice, "Zhao Changsheng is a woman, and you’re jealous over this?"

"I’ve never seen her as a woman," he lifted his head and stared at her slightly parted lips as he spoke bluntly.

Su Mo’s hands voluntarily wrapped around his neck as she chuckled, "Then what should I call you? Xiao Chenchen? Or maybe Xiao Lulu?"

These names were each more disgusting than the last; Lu Chen’s eyes darkened, and he captured that mischievous mouth with his own.

Moments later, Su Mo was panting against his chest, her pretty face blushing, "Lu Chen, I think your name is very nice, I like calling you that."

So, there really was no need for him to be jealous.

"Go wash up, come back to sleep," his thumb caressed her slightly swollen lips, his face softened, and his lips curled as if he was pleased by her words.

Su Mo caught sight of his smile and couldn’t help but feel delighted. She found that ever since they confirmed their relationship, he had become more lively and adorable.

She fondly rubbed the man’s cheek and got up to go wash.

As she opened the door, there stood Zhao Changsheng and Jianxiong outside.

"Don’t just stand there, go to sleep," Su Mo rolled her eyes at them, exasperated.

Seeing her obviously swollen lips, the fox-eyed Zhao Changsheng shot a glare at the dark bedroom, then turned and left.

Jianxiong scratched his head and obediently prepared to go back to his room, giving her an encouraging "fight on" gesture before leaving.

The bedding in the room was clean and had a scent of sunlight. After washing up, Su Mo crawled into the blankets, and when Lu Chen came back after washing, she still felt a bit nervous. This was, after all, the first time they properly shared a bed.

When Lu Chen entered, he saw a pair of big eyes on the bed sneakily watching him, which delighted him. He approached the bed, lifted the covers, and lay down beside her, turning to look, "What are you expecting?"

Face to face with his stunning visage, Su Mo’s face flushed, and she pulled the blankets over her head, muffling her voice, "Nothing."

She couldn’t always seem so eager.

The man pulled her out and encircled her in his arms, chuckling.

Su Mo looked up, and in the dark, that hint of a smile was real and warm.

"Lu Chen, can you smile more often?"

She touched the smile at the corner of his mouth, and for a moment, was mesmerized; her man always looked so handsome when he smiled.

Lu Chen lowered his head, ruffled her hair, and whispered, "Okay."

It was just a small request. Why not indulge her?

"Let’s sleep," he held her in his embrace; the quiet room was both peaceful and cozy.

Su Mo found a comfortable position in his arms and, embracing his sturdy waist, she fell asleep with ease.

They hadn’t been asleep for many hours when the day brightened. They got up early to find that everyone was already in the living room.

All with dark circles under their eyes, it was clear they hadn’t slept well.

Su Mo stretched and opened the living room curtains. People were walking around downstairs; if not for the desolation beyond the surrounding walls, she would almost think it was before the apocalypse.

"These people have such good spirits," she said as she watched the scene below.

"Isn’t that the truth," Zhao Changsheng with jaundiced legs, her eyes tinged with dark circles, looked dispirited, "They still manage to have early nights and early mornings despite the zombies underneath them."

"Let’s have breakfast," she turned and sat at the dining table, her eyes sticking to Lu Chen as she spoke in a soft voice, "Lu Chen, let’s eat soup dumplings!"

"The xiaolongbao are ready!" Jianxiong sprung up from the couch, his eyes lighting up.

Lu Chen walked over and ruffled his hair, just about to retrieve the buns from the Space, when there was a knock at the door.

"Are they here with the oil?" Zhao Changsheng stood from the couch, twisting his waist and yawning as he went to open the door.

The person standing outside was not Ling Fang; her gaze shifted down to rest on a shiny black little head: "Huh?"

Ling Ye looked up timidly, "Mom asked me to invite you guys for breakfast."

Su Mo, sitting there, heard the childish voice and got up from her chair. She walked over and saw the adorable little person, exclaiming in surprise, "Ling Ye?"

"Good morning, Sister Su Mo," he said, turning his eyes towards her, his voice crisp and clear.

She squatted in front of him and gently pinched his soft little face, asking softly, "Where’s your mom?"

"In the conference room, I’ll take you there," he explained.

With his hand in hers, Su Mo stood up and glanced at Lu Chen. She understood right away; probably the ’misunderstanding’ from yesterday made it awkward for her to show her face, so she sent her son instead.

"Then let’s go over," she said to the others behind her.

Lu Chen frowned as he walked alongside them, finding the sight of their hands clasped together particularly obtrusive.

They entered the elevator and pressed for the first floor, descending slowly.

Su Mo sniffed the cold air infiltrating the elevator and suddenly said, "Do you guys smell something?"

The vent at the top was gently drawing air from inside the elevator shaft.

Jianxiong took a strong whiff, then quickly covered his nose and complained, "It’s so fishy."

That faint smell of decay filled the entire elevator; they hadn’t noticed it yesterday.

The odor became even stronger when they reached the first floor.

Once outside, they each took deep breaths of fresh air. Su Mo, holding Ling Ye’s hand, asked as if casually, "Ling Ye, have you visited grandma recently?"

Ling Ye’s little face froze for a moment, and then he shook his head firmly: "No."

"...Hmm," Su Mo didn’t inquire further, understanding most of what she needed to from the child’s face that couldn’t hide his thoughts.

They were led to the building underneath which Li Chuan had been found the day before.

Upon reaching the fourth floor, Su Mo followed Ling Ye inside. Both rooms were wide open, and they were led into one of them.

It was packed with people, sitting around a large table pieced together, topped with freshly baked bread and a big pot of fragrant vegetable porridge.

Both Li Chuan’s and Sheng Yuan’s people were among the crowd.

Especially Li Chuan, who acted as if nothing had happened, greeting them as usual, clearly having escaped pursuit last night using his own methods.

As they arrived, people immediately made room for them to sit down.

Ling Fang sat in the middle, and Ling Ye, upon seeing his mother, let go of Su Mo’s hand and ran around the table to her.

Su Mo sat down opposite her, and Lu Chen squeezed in next to her, with the rest of the group settling down in their seats.

"Did you sleep well last night?" Ling Fang asked with a smile, pulling her son onto her lap for him to sit.

Bowls of porridge that wafted a vegetable aroma and a slice of toast were placed in front of each person.

Su Mo didn’t touch the food before her. Instead, she asked with a smile, "It was good, what about our oil?"

"Eat up, the pipe near your building broke; I’ll have someone fix it later," said Ling Fang, seemingly not hearing the question. She addressed everyone in the room, then picked up a small spoon and started feeding Ling Ye the porridge.
