The Chef Rules the Last Days
Chapter 113 - 110: He’s Jealous Again

Chapter 113: Chapter 110: He’s Jealous Again

They really had calculated it right! Su Mo felt a surge of joy in her heart.

Li Chuan had been discovered, and now stealing oil in someone else’s territory was simply asking for trouble.

Su Mo understood this principle too. She only quickly climbed down after those lights had moved away.

As she passed the swimming pool, she saw a big number three written on the side of the residential building opposite her.

Li Qian was brought back, and the door-to-door Ling Fang insisted on entering the house to check on everyone. Zhao Changsheng blocked the doorway, and both parties were at a standoff,

"I’m just going in to see if they’re safe!"

"They’re all asleep. Do you believe this old lady will whip you?"

By the time Su Mo and the others climbed back, the room was filled with the fragrance of steamed buns, and Zhao Changsheng outside the door was already gathering her Thunder Whip, ready to burst into anger.

One sentence from her extinguished the rage, "Changsheng, don’t break anything."

Hearing Su Mo’s soft, velvety voice calling her, Zhao Changsheng’s heart loosened a bit, and the Thunder Whip in her hand dissipated. She turned and drew close to Su Mo, her gorgeous face full of excitement, "What did you call me?"

"Zhao Changsheng..." Su Mo couldn’t help but laugh seeing her like that.

"No, no, that’s not what you just called me," Zhao Changsheng pressed, striding around her with long legs, her fox-like eyes sparkling brightly.

Sighing at her antics, Su Mo called out again, "Changsheng."

"Ah, Baby Mo," Zhao Changsheng immediately threw a flirtatious look her way, and if she had a fox tail behind her, it would already be wagging enough to take off.

Su Mo felt an uncontrollable shiver and pointed outside the door, "Behave, we are still on someone else’s turf."

Zhao Changsheng didn’t care much about that and even threw a very boastful look at Lu Chen, which made the man instantly surrounded by a chilling breeze.

At this time, Ling Fang started to feel a bit awkward. She looked around, and seeing that everyone in the house was accounted for, she realized that those detected leaving in the middle of the night weren’t them.

"I’m really sorry; we discovered that the guards in the security room were knocked out. The spiritual superpower user detected someone leaving tonight, so I came over to check," she said.

"Did you find the person you were looking for?"

As Lu Chen spoke, Su Mo felt the gradually spreading cold emanating from him, and she knew he was angry again.

Ling Fang hadn’t even responded when someone whispered in her ear, and she finally apologized with a smile, "No big deal, didn’t mean to disturb everyone’s rest. I’ll leave first."

"What about our oil, will you give it tomorrow?" Su Mo suddenly asked.

"... Of course," Ling Fang paused, then turned around and closed the door.

The person behind her touched his nose, whispering, "Why do I smell meat cooking?"

Ling Fang gave him a speechless stare. In her urgency just now, she really hadn’t smelled any meat, "Hurry and check if any oil is missing."

In the kitchen, Su Niang’s first batch of steamed buns had just come out of the steamer. Seeing that they were talking, she covered them to keep them warm before they cooled down.

"Whether she gives it or not, we must get the oil and leave tomorrow," Su Mo told everyone in the living room, sharing all she had seen and heard in the control room.

Li Qian also felt helpless. His spiritual power had tried to reach out several times since returning, but it was always quickly detected and entangled desperately. The other party was obviously planning to keep them in the dark to the end.

"So, they are raising zombies in the garage, and they have even raised a monster," Su Mo slumped on the couch, looking somewhat exhausted.

"You mean under building three? But usually, the garages in residential areas are interconnected," Li Qian asked.

"It’s separated," Lu Chen said coldly.

Separating each building’s zombies with iron nets was no small undertaking, and it certainly couldn’t be completed overnight.

"Had they already started doing this when the apocalypse arrived?" Su Mo exclaimed in surprise.

This sentiment resonated with everyone, and they all suddenly felt a chill down their spines.

They were sitting around in the living room, silent for a moment, until Su Niang interjected.

"Miss, our Xiao Long Bao need to be put away, or they’ll get cold."

Su Mo’s eyes lit up. She had been too distracted to attend to this and rose from the sofa to follow Su Niang into the kitchen. Su Niang had finished cooking the half bag of meat, the delicate Xiao Long Bao neatly stacked on a plate, enough to last a month, though the steamer was small and only a small portion had been steamed.

Steam was still gently rising from them, obviously fresh out of the steamer.

She quickly called out to Lu Chen, "Lu Chen! Come and put these in the Space before they cool down!"

The man came in and put the batch that had just come out into the Space, and Su Niang hurriedly prepared a new batch.

By the time all the buns were done, the sky was beginning to lighten, and no one in the living room felt like sleeping, sitting upright; no one could sleep with a horde of zombies right beneath their feet.

Jianxiong sniffed and moved to the kitchen doorway, secretly swallowing his saliva, "How about we have a midnight snack?"

Su Mo turned her head and gave him a dismissive look, "Don’t you go to sleep. There is urgent business to attend to early in the morning."

"Baby Mo, I’ll stay here with you," Zhao Changsheng said coquettishly, leaning against the kitchen side, his flirtatious eyes continuously casting glances at Su Mo.

Lu Chen, standing at nearly six feet three inches tall, completely shielded Su Mo so she couldn’t catch any of his signals, but she heard him, and she sighed:

"Changsheng, aren’t you tired?"

"I never get tired with you around," he replied.

"..." Su Mo kept silent, feeling another wave of goosebumps as the man behind her emitted an icy chill.

After Su Mo and Su Niang had tidied everything up, the three of them stepped out of the kitchen; before leaving, Su Mo specifically packed the household steamer into her System Bag, even taking the half-full gas canister.

"Everyone go to sleep," he said as he walked over and pulled Su Mo aside coldly, "You come with me."

The cool temperature of his large palm sent a shiver down Su Mo’s spine, and she was pulled by him into a bedroom. Zhao Changsheng attempted to follow, but was abruptly shut out with a "bang."

The room was pitch dark with the curtains drawn, Zhao Changsheng’s repetitive whining of "Baby Mo" audible from outside. Su Mo could clearly see the man’s impassive face, her heart quivering as she asked with a feigned cute smile, "What... what’s wrong?"

"What do you think?" Lu Chen stepped closer to her.

His aura sent a shudder through Su Mo, and she backed away until her heels hit the bed and she sat down.

"You have to tell me at least!" Su Mo looked bewildered; after all, she had only asked him to put away some buns.

He crouched in front of the bed, arms supporting him on the edge, and encircled her in his arms, his phoenix eyes intently staring at her, "What do you call me?"

"Lu Chen, of course," Su Mo replied without hesitation.

The man leaned in even closer, which made her shift her buttocks backwards, "And Zhao Changsheng?"

"Zhao Changsheng? He..." Su Mo stared at him for a second, then suddenly realized, "Are you jealous?"
