Chapter 102: Chapter 99: I Really Didn’t Drive Anymore!

The crisp, unembellished scent behind him caused his tense nerves to snap, and he turned to envelop her in his embrace.

Meeting Lu Chen’s bloodshot eyes, Su Mo instantly realized her predicament, her hands pressing against the man’s chest as her face flushed deep red.

"I... I think I can finally get some good sleep."

"Too late."

She twisted her body, trying to wriggle out of his embrace, but just as she got halfway out, he pulled her back and covered her lips with his thin ones.

Lifting her head from that overwhelming kiss, she stammered, "That... mea... measure!"

Lu Chen’s movements paused for a moment, and then he chuckled, rewarding her with a long kiss before finally releasing her.

"Sleep."

Suppressing the fervor inside him, he scooped her up along with the sleeping bag into his embrace, his large hand tightly gripping her waist.

"Hmm..."

That was it? Staring at the ceiling for a while, Su Mo seemed to grasp the true meaning of disappointment.

When she woke up, it was still dim outside, and the person beside her had vanished, some noise coming from the bathroom.

Lu Chen walked out: "You’re up?"

"Yeah," she nodded groggily, feeling a bit of soreness in her waist. The faint noise of zombies stirring could be heard from downstairs as she rubbed her waist and glanced at him: "You’re up early."

"Yeah," he walked over, a tender look in his eyes as he bent down to plant a kiss on her head.

Su Mo rubbed her face against his cold, hard cheek and got out of bed to tidy up.

The table was set with some biscuits and sausages, she drank a bottle of milk, had breakfast, and packed up. As soon as she opened the door, two people stumbled in.

Zhao Changsheng staggered but managed to steady himself, while Jianxiong fell directly to the ground.

Su Mo crouched beside him and said speechlessly, "Have you two been waiting at the door all night?"

"No," Zhao Changsheng replied stubbornly, dark circles under his eyes.

Su Mo rolled her eyes and pointed to the table inside the room, "Have your breakfast, and take the tea I made yesterday."

She walked past them, and the hallway was already filled with people.

Li Chuan leaned against the wall, greeting her and Lu Chen with a pale hand.

"Did you sleep well last night?" his almond eyes hinted at a suggestive tone as he looked between them.

Lu Chen ignored him, his expression returning to that of the cold, aloof man as they exited.

Li Chuan shrugged, apparently used to it.

Su Mo walked downstairs beside him, Lu Chen went over to the military vehicle and stored the entire vehicle into his space by merely touching it.

This action surprised everyone.

"How big is your space now?" Su Mo asked, tilting her head up, her eyes slightly widened.

"Adding a few more vehicles wouldn’t be a problem," the man replied nonchalantly, his Level 3 space superpower had expanded five times more compared to Level 1.

"Then Lu Chen, take my car as well," Li Chuan called from not too far away, his hands in his pockets, calling out loudly to him.

The man didn’t even give him a proper look and left with the crowd.

Li Chuan shrugged and followed at a leisurely pace.

"Li Chuan, our car can’t go on any longer," reminded a mercenary behind him.

Li Chuan, without turning back, said, "Then leave it here."

"... "

Seeing this, Sheng Yuan had no choice but to park the car and follow with the group.

"The air surrounded by the lake is indeed refreshing," Su Mo took a deep breath as she walked out of the hotel grounds onto the path.

There was a small lake right beside the path, flanked by willows on both sides, with some greenery around, and a uniformly ancient-looking cluster of white buildings ahead as they walked under the trees.

Su Mo leaned on the railing, realizing only at night that the lake water was pitch black, like a huge ink pot.

"This water..." She was about to say something when Jianxiong behind her had an issue.

"The landscaping of this town is really something," Jianxiong brushed off the willow leaf plastered on his face by the wind. The sharp edge of the leaf immediately cut his skin, causing him to hiss in pain.

Su Mo turned around and saw a cut on Jianxiong’s face from which blood was streaming; she immediately took a bottle of Biluochun Tea from the System Bag and handed it to him.

"What happened?"

Before Jianxiong could answer, Jingjing behind them screamed, "Ah!"

Beside Sheng Yuan, a burly man about as tall and big as Jianxiong had a line of blood spurting from his neck, splashing a meter away, whirling in the wind with a chain of blood-stained leaves.

"Beware of the leaves," Jianxiong said, covering his neck frightfully, finally managing to shrink his huge body and squat out.

Lu Chen’s expression tightened and immediately, he pulled Su Mo down and moved to the middle of the path.

Li Qian, protecting Su Niang, also came out.

Lu Chen, using his Space superpower, sliced off a chain of leaves, bent down to pick them up, and Su Mo came closer to look at them. The leaf’s edges, at first glance ordinary, were actually exceedingly sharp, and the whole leaf had a certain hardness.

"Could these leaves have mutated due to the recent rainfall?" Su Mo considered this the only possibility after much thought.

"Hmm," Lu Chen pondered, his eyes thoughtful. He suddenly activated his superpower again and cut several willow branches, storing them in Space.

"Boss, why are you collecting these?" Jianxiong, after drinking tea and covering his face, asked.

"Less talk if you’re smart," Zhao Changsheng walked out and kicked him.

"Enough, stop messing around," Su Mo said, looking towards Sheng Yuan. Their group was frantically trying to stop the bleeding of the man whose throat was cut.

But the blood of the burly man was already winding down the path’s stonework, and she knew she might save his life, but...

She wasn’t going to take the risk.

"Let’s continue looking for oil," she said, turning around to walk forward.

Nobody suggested that Su Mo save the man; instead, they all breathed a sigh of relief because of her action.

Li Chuan chuckled and followed at an unhurried pace.

Sheng Yuan watched their receding figures and finally lowered the burly man’s head, his eyes filled with regret, "Sorry."

The burly man, clutching his neck, kept making hissing noises, struggling to breathe as his windpipe was ruptured, his eyes rolling up as his face turned purplish.

"Brother Sheng, are we really going to let him die here!" Jingjing’s tears came out in sobs.

"Then you stay with him," Sheng Yuan said impatiently, glancing at her and even regretting why he had bothered to save such a useless woman.

"No, Brother Sheng, I’ll go," Jingjing immediately pressed her delicate body against him, her eyes filled with panic.

As a tourist town, there were many cars on the street, but...

"Damn! How many vehicles is this now!" Jianxiong kicked a car with an open fuel cap.

Li Qian reacted but wasn’t surprised, as though he had expected this: "All the cars around here have been drained."

"We are really unlucky," Zhao Changsheng climbed onto a car and looked around, his eyes expressing extreme displeasure.

Even Su Niang, wanting to help, found that several cars she tried were empty as well, sighing, "What can we do now?"

"Are we just giving up?" Su Mo also lamented, thinking the locals had been thorough.

"Not at all," Li Qian’s spiritual power spread out like a vast net, and then he smiled gently, a gleam in his eyes behind his glasses: "Our savior is here."
