Chapter 84: Long Haoran’s Playing Style
Chapter 84: Long Haoran’s Playing Style
[Nightmare Difficulty Dungeon-Hallow Village]
On the way to the second floor’s bedroom, Long Haoran stored all the things like those jars, cabinets, and so on, leaving only the bed, planning to use them later.
Long Haoran grabbed the rope made of a blanket to slide down from the second floor, using his feet as leverage against the wall, while chewing on his third fritter.
Despite the surprising B rating, the fritter didn’t reach the standard, in his opinion. It lacks the desired crunchy texture due to the absence of eggs. He only had a little flour he got from the trade market, so it was crumbling and not sticking together well.
He was quite confused about how the system was rated because, for him, the dishes he made were failures. The fritters had no garnish or dipping sauce.
Nevertheless, consuming three, he totally wiped out the debuff, and the wound on his left arm was closed and scabbed over, leaving an unblemished skin.
And he also obtained experience from cooking.
[Consume 10+20+30 Mana from upgrading ingredient]
[Consume 50 Mana from Buff Grant]
[You’ve made two dishes with B ratings]
[You’ve gained a total of 1000 cooking experience points.]
[Congratulations, your Class: Gourmet Supplier leveled up...]
The notification about leveling up rang four times.
[Gourmet Supplier Lv. 4 (200/1600)]
[You’ve gained 40 unallocated status points.]
The frying pan that sensed the experience points and the dish rating while staying inside the bound inventory was astounded.
It was never expected for its new master’s first dish to have a B rating. His new master directly skipped a few grades.
He had served a lot of Masters in the past, and the majority of them had attained the lowest level at the start, with only a few getting Ds.
I got 40 status points?
It was this time that Long Haoran realized that his class may not be all it seems on the surface, but there was also a flaw: he does not have the right over which buff the dishes would have.
It was all a gamble. Fortunately, his luck didn’t run out, and the fritter had the one he most needed at the moment and those status points.
But one thing is for sure: once he gets out, he needs to stock up on food—a lot of food—just in case he encounters the same situation.
Thump-
Long Haoran quickly ran after his feet landed on the ground.
Growl-
The monsters reached the second floor and were squeezing themselves through the window. Some of them fell over and rolled before dropping to the ground. They quickly got back to their feet and chased after Long Haoran.
Sounds of his foes getting nearer made Long Haoran increase his speed. In the midst, he took out the bowl of braised, glazed chumpet with diced meat and tossed the pieces on his mouth.
The natural sweetness of the root crop and the rich flavor of the meat were a great combination, but Long Haoran frowned after realizing the seasoning was lacking.
He was not a bit surprised because he only has salt and pepper.
If he had the five spices (star anise, cloves, cinnamon, Sichuan peppercorns, and fennel seeds) on hand, the rating must have been higher.
If the frying pan was able to hear his complaints, it would reevaluate its new master again.
Nevertheless, this was already enough. Long Haoran finished the small serving before tossing the bowl inside the space. His cheeks bulged from chewing before he reluctantly swallowed the food.
[You gained a 20% temporary boost in strength and intelligence.]
[You’ve acquired a physical skill: body slam for five minutes.]
[Body Slam (A)
-Tackles the target and inflicts damage equal to 150% of the player’s strength. There’s a 30% chance to paralyze the target for 2 seconds. Consume 10 mana per use.]
Long Haoran viewed his stats.

Combat Star: 22 stars
Because he didn’t know how to set up status points before, he only divided them equally, but now, after realizing the importance of allocation, Long Haoran has become cautious.
He added ten points to strength and intelligence and left the other twenty for emergencies.
If his strength still wasn’t able to deal with the monster, then he’ll add ten on the way.
[Health: 550/550 (+10% Buff)
Mana: 220/340
Strength: 34 (+20% Buff)
Agility: 20

Intelligence: 34 (20% Buff)
Combat Star: 27 Star]
Growl-
The monsters are catching on. Five are within five meters behind him.
Long Haoran, after finishing all the preparations, took out his frying pan and turned around before tackling the closest wall of the house.
Bam-
The monster’s back slammed against the wall, creating a loud creaking sounds.
[-45]
[-5]
Why only 45? Shouldn’t it be 51? Where did the six points go?
ಠ_ಠ
Long Haoran was momentarily confused.
The monster shrieked and stretched out its hand.
He avoided them and quickly smacked their heads.
His 34 points of strength were able to reduce another [-28] of the monster’s health.
Another 6 was not calculated...
The monsters with [21/100] on their lifelines couldn’t stand another attack from Long Haoran.
Bam-
[-21]
It let out a last cry before falling motionless.
Long Haoran sensed monsters behind him and quickly sprinted away.
He repeatedly body-slammed the nearest monster while being careful of the other side’s attacks until the five were eliminated.
His hands gripping the handle of the pan were numb. The monster’s head was harder than the previous batches.
Roar-
Another batch came over, comprising seven monsters.
The fabric that he used for bandages appeared in his palm, and he wrapped his right hand so it wouldn’t get injured.
Long Haoran looked at the time left from the skills and buffs.
[Body Slam: 1:39]
[Str and Int Buff: 6:39]
He couldn’t afford to delay anymore.
Long Haoran, with a plan in mind, adjusted his speed before his slam-and-smack routine, and before the body slam skill had expired, he was able to kill another four.
After the skill was gone, Long Haoran changed his style and collected all the heavy things he stumbled across while on the run, like wheelbarrows and large rocks, before climbing one of the roofs by using a garden hoe as a hook.
Long Haoran, after successfully arriving at the rooftop, retrieved the hoe and made a hole on the roof before plunging the hoe inside. He tied the rope blanket around his waist in case he fell over by accident.
Once, everything was alright. Long Horan gazed at the 15 monsters left.
Roar-
Every single one of them was scratching the walls, leaving marks in their wake.
A stone triple the size of his fist appeared on Long Haoran’s hand before being hit with a frying pan.
Whoosh-
The first stone missed the target. He was not discouraged and tried another one. This time, it hit one side of the monster’s cheek.
[-2]
Long Haoran remained hopeful, and on the third try, he was able to hit it on the chest.
[-10]
He continued smacking the stones before he got the hang of it and was able to hit the head.
[-31]
From body slam and smacking heads, the cook with zero gaming knowledge became a pitcher and baseball bat player afterwards.
After the stones ran out, Long Haoran took out the heavier things, like the wheel barrow, sofas, jars, and so on. Everything was flung until the lifelines of the monsters were below twenty.
Long Haoran, in his exhausted state, jumped down and delivered the final blows.
[Wave 3 cleared]
[Last stage (Boss) will arrive at 30:00]
[Player, be ready.]
Boss?
LongHaoran raised his brows. He had a bad premonition.
