Chapter 67: Nightmare Difficulty Dungeon

Long Haoran’s younger brother’s name was Long Zurui, and although he was not an avid gaming fan, he still had considerable knowledge regarding this area due to the fact that he played online games to pick up girls.

And in order to succeed in picking up girls, he needed to be impressive—the type of player to be a ’master of all trades’ that would prompt cute and soft girls to sweetly call him ’Ge Ge’. He used to spend time with these ’cuties’ carrying them in the dungeons, slaying bosses, PK enemies, and farming monsters.

It was his favorite hobby for two consecutive years when he was still a sophomore student. He spent the majority of his rest time and weekends chatting and playing with these cuties.

It was going well until one day he discovered a disturbing truth.

These little ’cuties’ were actually dudes with long beards and only using voice changer software to pretend to be cute girls!

His fragile heart had taken a huge hit.

Zurui suffered trauma from then on and has ever since become allergic to online games and cute and soft voices, leading him to have nightmares.

With all those being said, the main point of his story was that he could clearly see how OP the class his brother had acquired and the fact that it was evolvable and still had room for growth later was epic.

Not to mention that his brother could gain additional stat points just from cooking alone, which makes it even more enviable.

If he continuously grinds the class function, he will be more powerful than the other players of the same or several higher levels than him.

In addition, the ability to grant buffs, upgrade stuff, or gain skills was another thing to note. He could already imagine his brother accumulating riches with this feature alone.

Players would splurge their wealth for stats-boosting items, especially in the current world where every point creates a major difference between life and death.

The list doesn’t end there, and Long Zuiri felt obliged to educate his elder brother, who only knows three things: cooking, cooking, and COOKING.

He explained, gave tips, elaborated each function, and talked for half an hour before he noticed something odd. His brother seems not to question him at all, even though he was using technical gaming terms.

Although his elder brother was not much of a talker, he would make humming sounds in the midst of their conversation, but right now, he was so quiet.

[Great Romantic Sage]: Brother?

Zurui was still wondering why the situation was strange when he received a notification.

[System Notification: Due to special reasons, your friend ’Dumpling Duke’ is unable to receive messages.]

Unable to receive a message?

Zurui tried sending one more, but the same notice popped up. He didn’t give up and sent numerous messages again, but still nothing changed. Brother Haoran was still off the radar.

His brows furrowed.

What could happen to his elder brother?

Zurui was anxious.

---

Long Haoran found himself staring at a system prompt, bewildered and confused.

[Welcome to a Dungeon-Nightmare Difficulty]

Just a few minutes ago, he was strolling around what seemed to be a graveyard. White bones were scattered everywhere, mixed with the dried and withered leaves and branches on the ground.

It was clearly belonging to a human being based on the structure and size.

But the scenery changed when he fell onto a magical pit next to a tree, and now he was standing in front of the entrance of the village. The characters on the plaque hanging on the arch, although unfamiliar, he was able to understand.

It stated- Hallow Village.

A village?

He looked to his sides, and there were only forests and dense shrubs as tall as his waist, hindering his view from inspecting further.

Suddenly, he heard a shrill scream and inhuman sounds of snarling coming from inside the village. He also smelled blood.

[Wave 1 Incoming]

[Player, be ready.]

Long Haoran frowned and geared his hand with the frying pan.

The unwilling frying pan complained, but it never passed Long Haoran’s ears due to the language barrier.

Frying Pan: For the umpteenth time, I’m not a weapon!

The morning came for the residents of the Metropolitan Base.

Contrary to the bustling and lively Inner Ring, the Outer District was silent.

Not a single person was seen strolling on the streets except for the guards assigned to patrol under the management’s and Gong Feitian’s orders.

Others who didn’t know anything might think that the people in the Outer District had lost hope and were waiting for death inside the room; only those who knew the truth knew that this was a pretense to cover up so as not to make the inspector suspicious.

The grannies and children sealed the gaps in the door and windows to prevent the scent of their cooking from slipping out. In the middle, they began talking about the match and even considering joining too, in case lad Gong Panli couldn’t find someone.

Who says grannies can’t fight? They can too!

---

Inside the gym, Li Chunhua took out the remaining food boxes from her inventory and invited the mole services team before she started to devour her share.

No matter how much they tried to adapt their eyes to her speed of eating, the people were still left astounded every time.

Her mouth was like a black hole that just sucked out everything, leaving only the bones.

"Last, slow down. No one will snatch the food from you." Mr. Fang swallowed his food before chiding her.

Li Chunhua proceeded to glance at the little fox that was eating in the same manner as her.

Uncle, are you sure?

"Never mind." Mr. Fang revoked his words after witnessing the little dog’s ferocity.

If these two eat like that, the supplies will be gone in no time!

After a hearty meal, Gong Panli and Mr. Fang were seriously discussing the match.

"Less than 10 hours are left, but all we have is one participant."

"Lad, have you talk to those from your circle of friends like that girl surnamed Liang and her team?"

"She didn’t agree, afraid of risking the safety of her team."

"Then, if there’s no one else, I’ll join..." Mr. Fang volunteered.

[Side Mission: Help Outer District win the Contest (Optional)

-Reward: Five minutes of Treasure Chests Location Radar]

Woah!

Five minutes?

I’m in system!

"Actually I have an idea..." Li Chunhua immediately intervened before her eyes travelled on the two figures.

Mr. Fang noticed her gazed on the old woman and the little dog.

This lass!

"Be serious." Mr. Fang smack her head, frustrated over her joke.

Li Chunhua rubbed the spot where she was struck. "Why did you hit me Uncle? I was being serious."
