Chapter 65: The Hallow Village’s Case

Tan Ge, despite being extremely unwilling to be a hole-fixer, could only willingly comply after a certain someone’s eyes glowed sinister under the faint light of the lamp the moment he showed a slight hesitation.

"Yes, leave it to me! I worked in the construction business before. I can fix any hole in any kind of building, no matter how big it is!" His mouth ran before his mind, and he began promoting himself to escape being someone’s punching bag.

Gong Feitian’s orders to investigate and incapacitate his half-brother’s combatant before the fight flew out of his head.

Compared to those fancy elemental tricks Gong Feitian was proud of, this girl’s strength and swiftness pose a greater threat to him.

He couldn’t even see how he was knocked out. He only felt a force hit the back of his head before he was sent to dreamland.

"That’s great. We’ll be counting on you." Li Chunhua patted his shoulders, and each pat was like a giant hammer pounding on his shoulders that almost pushed his soul out of his body.

The hole-fixer Tan Ge immediately sprang to his feet, raised his hands, and released earth elements to fix the first hole obediently.

The grandmas recognized Tan Ge, as did Mr. Fang and Gong Panli, and they were very astonished as to why the man decided to help.

Mr. Fang and Gong Panli didn’t like Li Chunhua’s idea of asking this guy’s help because this man might go and divulge what happened today.

Tan Ge suddenly felt the air was chillier, and a piercing stare punctured his back. Beads of sweat rolled down the sides of his face. He knew who it was and instantly turned back.

"No, I won’t say anything to Gong Feitian. If I ever say a single word about what happened today, may the heavens make me bald and screw my balls!"

"Good. You better fulfill it or I don’t mind helping the heavens screw your balls." Li Chunhua visibly relaxed. As a cultivator practicing the way of Dao, she valued such promises and nodded.

Tan Ge wiped the sweat and felt huge relief, as if he had escaped a death sentence but at the same time he was frightened by Li Chunhua’s words.

Mr. Fang and Gong Panli were not convinced, but since the freak Li Chunhua had already given her assent, they could only keep an eye on Tan Ge.

Siri and Little Mantou hurriedly divided the supplies based on the statistics Gong Panli reported.

Opening more than 1500 chests has given them thousands of household necessities, including close to a thousand bags of 2 jin to 3 jin rice, several hundreds of gallons of water, hundreds of boxes of canned goods, noodles, and so on, which the team divided equally.

With the addition of the hole-fixing crew member, Tan Ge, the Mole Delivery Service Team was able to cover up the traces they left on the grannies’ floors and make them less conspicuous.

Li Chunhua was repeatedly being smashed by things the grannies threw whenever her head popped out of the hole.

Thankfully, her face had a thick defense, and none of the attacks had caused damage; otherwise, her face would swell like a red dumpling with all those indiscriminate attacks.

To her surprise, despite being old, these grannies could actually hurl things across the room very easily, which proves their strength didn’t lag behind the younger generation.

She reckoned that if they were given the chance to become ability users too, the Outer District would become a pub for great warriors, and grandmothers and grandfathers with bulging arms would roam this place.

Cough...She actually liked to see that...

Those oppressors will hesitate about offending these people.

"Young Lady, thank you so much." The two grandmothers expressed their gratitude in lowered voices after receiving supplies from the lady.

The rice, loaf of bread, water, canned goods, even new bedding, and other stuff were badly needed. Her help was like lending a hand on a snowy day.

"It’s actually just a little help." Li Chunhua scratched her head in helplessness. Her deeds today will not treat the root of the problem. Gentleman Gong needed a solution.

The grandmothers still sent her hugs and pats, as well as to Gong Panli and the rest.

They thought it would be the end for them, but the lad, Gong Panli, along with his friends, actually went out to get some supplies.

Their delivery operation was going smoothly, and around fifteen minutes later, they finished the first floor.

To get to the upper floors, Li Chunhua dug under the flight of stairs to cover their presence before climbing up. On her hands were supplies bundled together, weighing more than hundreds of kilograms, but they didn’t tamper with her speed, which made Tan Ge’s eyeballs almost pop out of their sockets.

She really is a monster!

Little Mantou was on her neck, unleashing his illusion skill on his master while hanging on for his dear life.

Due to his limited amount of mana, the little fox was only able to maintain the spell for less than half an hour, which meant Li Chunhua needed to utilize the time wisely.

The officers guarding the entrance of the building didn’t notice them at all and didn’t even turn around.

This made the rest of the Mole Delivery Services Team who were peeking out their heads from the holes and pat their chests in relief.

Due to her experiences before, Li Chunhua was prepared for the grandmother’s attacks, and she was able to dodge them this time.

On four floors, seven rooms in each, Li Chunhua spends five minutes delivering supplies before going back to the hole under the stairs.

They did the same routine for the other buildings, and before the time struck 7:00 p.m., the Mole Delivery Service finished their first ever job.

The Outer District residents, who were supposed to be shrouded in gloom, were eating in silence behind closed doors with smiles of gratitude on their faces and will never forget this gesture of kindness.

The officers outside did another inspection, but because of the lack of light, the grannies have become way smarter. They were unable to find anything. This was the same case for the children in the other buildings, who made their rooms stinky to avoid inspection.

Meanwhile, in Mr. Fang’s gym, all those who participated in the activity were sprawled on the floor and exhausted.

The most exhausted of the group was Tan Ge, whose energy was sucked dry after patching up numerous holes. He didn’t even have the strength to lift his finger.

Inside the research institute, a group of researchers surrounded an old man.

"Professor, what are your findings? "One of the researchers asked the old man.

The professor withdrew from the microscope before responding in a grim and uncertain tone, "I can see some green hair-like fibers in the soil, and they were moving almost as if alive. Same with all the soil samples taken from in different parts of the base and within five hundred meter radius from the wall."

"I’ve studied a similar case years ago from a village which was abandoned because the land suddenly became infertile. The villagers also contracted strange sickness before they were relocated." The professor added, pondering over something.

Could the disaster be related to the village’s case?

"What’s the name of the village, Professor?"

"It was Hallow Village."
