Chapter 60: The Koi is searching for treasure chests (2)
"Then do you want to rob the other party’s food storage?"
Truthfully, this is the method Li Chunhua most preferred, but because of the consequences that might come after, she chose the peaceful option- searching for treasure chests instead.
Rob the food storage?
How can she say that easily?
Both Siri and Little Mantou kept quiet, looking at their master’s face, showing she was seriously considering the option.
So that’s why she requested for a sack and asked about the population of the Outer District.
But relying on searching for treasure chests on the Secret Realm to solve the food crisis?
It’s impossible!
They bet they would only be able to find less than a dozen of white quality, or if they were lucky enough, there might be one silver or bronze mixed in, but that will probably not happen because someone had extremely bad luck.
Siri pulled a face, knowing his master would have a hard time finding any with him around.
"Master, I’m going back to the gym first. My negative luck might affect you."
"Brother Siri, It’s only 100. It’s okay..."
[-400]
(●__●)
"That..." Li Chunhua was stupefied at the luck stats shown by Siri. "Why did it get worse?" She asked, quite shaken.
"Probably because I leveled up," Siri responded with a helpless expression.
"What level are you at?"
"Level 3." Siri responded with a low, dejected voice.
Little Mantou was listening to their conversation and sniffed when the memory of being tied resurfaced.
"Only level 3, and it’s already four hundred!" Her voice rose a pitch with Siri’s reply.
The good thing was that the streets of the Outer District were deserted because the children and grandparents were inside their homes and probably didn’t have the energy to roam around or she would attracted a lot of attention.
The bustling public food market was also closed and had signage on the entrance that said, ’Close for business until further notice.’
Thus, there were only three of them below ground.
There were people patrolling on top of the walls, but they only observed the three of them without saying anything and only sighed heavily while watching the three of them, especially with the empty sack in Li Chunhua’s hand.
These people were probably trying their luck to gather for their dinner. The guards thought before turning around and returning to their designated spots with mixed emotions.
Siri nodded, very sad.
Li Chunhua didn’t know what to say. If she calculates it, then with every level Brother Siri gains, his luck will be reduced by 100, and if he reaches level 10, it will be -1000.
What would happen by then?
Li Chunhua was worried, unable to imagine it. Gulping, she responded, "Ah, Brother Siri..."
"Master, you don’t need to say anything. I will go back." Siri didn’t wait for her to finish her words.
The elf turned around and began to walk back.
Li Chunhua quickly chased after him and grabbed a corner of his clothes. "Brother Siri, don’t go. With three of us, the efficiency of searching for treasure chests will increase, and I need someone to help me carry them back in case the sack gets full."
Little Mantou, who also ran after the elf, nodded at Li Chunhua’s statement, hoping the elf would be persuaded. "Yes, Sir Elf. Stay with us."
"But..."
"How about this? If we don’t find a single chest within the span of ten minutes, you can go back," Li Chunhua proposed, not wanting the elf to be upset.
"Yes." Little Mantou nodded, liking the idea.
Siri’s heart warmed because of his master’s words.
In the Elven Kingdom, only his mother, father, and mentor would dare to get close to him, and others would flee like he was a plague for fear of contracting his bad luck.
But Siri still didn’t want his master to be affected. He turned around and lifted his steps again. However, he was only able to take a single step when he heard a ripping sound.
He spun his sight, only to be stunned when he saw a piece of fabric on his master’s hand.
The fabric on Li Chunhua’s hand dropped to the ground. She quickly covered her eyes with the empty sack before apologizing. "I’m sorry. I didn’t see anything."
She wanted to make him stay but accidentally tore a section of his pants.
Little Mantou quickly turned around, and his white fur turned into a faint shade of pink.
A wind blew, and Siri felt cold, particularly on his buttocks.
He went to inspect the cause of it, and a blush crept from his neck to his cheeks, turning it into a juicy, ripe apple.
---
A few minutes later, Li Chunhua was alone on the streets.
Because Siri’s clothes were torn, the Elf went back hurriedly, and Little Mantou, the die-hard fan, followed along, not before accusing her of harrassment.
Li Chunhua wanted to kick the little fox’s butt, but the latter quickly escaped.
Sighing heavily, she began to focus on searching. Honestly, she didn’t have much hope of finding more than a thousand chests.
But Li Chunhua won’t give up just because it appears to be hopeless.
Li Chunhua walked for a few minutes, passing by a few closed shops, before she saw the first treasure chest.
"Silver," she mumbled happily.
There was a silver chest behind a pot of withered plants placed at the entrance of the shop. She quickly walked toward it.
[Secret Realm’s Silver Treasure Chest]
A prompt floated on top.
Li Chunhua didn’t open the chest on the spot and just stuffed it inside the sack.
Although acquiring a silver chest was a very good thing, it was still far from the goal.
Li Chunhua was only a bit happy and resumed the search.
After a few seconds, she found a chest again, and it was bronze.
She placed it inside her sack.
After another five seconds, she found a silver again, and it was on the entrance of the path and not hidden, but there’s not only one but two!
(✿☉。☉)
They were huddled close, without a gap in between.
It was her first time encountering this kind of thing.
But it doesn’t stop her from being happy.
It would be good if the treasure chests were clustered like these two and not spread out. It would make her job easier.
She dearly wished in her heart.
Li Chunhua never expected this wish to come true because the next time she found a treasure chest, there were three on the same spot.
(✿☉。☉) !
And it didn’t stop there. She kept finding treasure chests in groups of two, threes, and fours, filling the sack in less than ten minutes.
But the problem was that the sack was torn, and the chests spilled on the ground.
Her inventory was full, but the streets were still filled with treasure chests.
After a second thought, Li Chunhua decided to stay longer and let the chests pile up in one corner near the base wall.
She spent another hour on the streets.
Meanwhile, due to Siri’s urging to help Li Chunhua, the little fox went to look for their master, and when he found her, she was in the middle of the streets, gazing elsewhere.
Little Mantou traced the direction of her gaze.
