Chapter 30: The Little Ginseng Spirit
Chapter 30: The Little Ginseng Spirit
The ginseng was spicy but also sweet, and every time she consumed a part of it, her body would be filled with energy, just like those qi that would be absorbed when one does cultivation.
Li Chunhua halted for a few seconds after the fifth bite. Siri and Little Mantou also paid more close attention.
Then, Li Chunhua bit a small section.
[+1% Intelligence]
Her eyes lit up, and she shared the good news: "It works." Although it’s only 1%, it’s actually better than nothing. However, Li Chunhua won’t stop at these. She needed to reach the threshold of the summoning requirement.
After finishing her whole ginseng, she finally heard the most-awaited notification.
[It is detected that the particular food item’s essence is enough. Does the player wish to conduct summoning? ]
Li Chunhua clicked yes, and in an instant, there was a golden magic circle emerging beneath her feet. At first, it was two green leaves, then two delicate green stems, and then a brown tube-like body with fork roots.
It was ginseng.
Isn’t this a bit cute? Li Chunhua remarked in her mind.
"Ji Ji Ji." The ginseng, not taller than two feet, circled around Li Chunhua’s legs before climbing over her thighs. She wanted to tug it off, but the little guy wouldn’t budge and just kept muttering, Ji ji ji.
Li Chunhua went to view its property panel instead.
Meanwhile, Little Mantou and Siri, after witnessing a small edible plant appear out of the summoning circle, were dismayed.
They thought the summons would be formidable, just like its descriptions, but it seems like their expectations were too high, leading them to be disappointed.
Suddenly, they heard a game system notification in their ears.
[You’ve gained 0.01 Strength.]
[You’ve gained 0.02 Agility.]
What is this?
"Brother Siri and Little Mantou, come and have a look."
The two swept their eyes on the surroundings, and it wasn’t until their master called them that they were able to trace the source of the anomaly, and the moment they did, they were urged to bow down at little Ginseng.
[Summon Name: Ginseng Spirit (Infancy Stage)
- Summon Grade: A (Evolvable)
- Summon Type: Support, Healing, and Buff Type
- Within 5 meters of the Ginseng Spirit, for every ten minutes that have passed, the targets will gain a random permanent buff of 0.01% on their stats, with the exception of the opposing party.
- Little Ginseng Spirit is also able to heal the target’s minor wounds.]
Their eyes slowly turned to worship. Even though it was 0.01 or 0.02, it stacked on every ten minutes. They never come across a summon that was capable of doing that, and it’s still in its infancy stage, which means its buff and healing effects will improve as it evolves.
Somehow, they began to look forward to Master’s army of food...cough summon and their skills.
Since the class change was successful, the three of them, with the addition of the little ginseng, only need to wait for the arrival of the monsters to accumulate the last requirement for the territory buildings.
After an hour, on the table, three pairs of eyes watched the Little Ginseng Spirit devoured most of the biscuits Brother Siri had baked.
Li Chunhua who only had the chance to grab four biscuits eyed the Ginseng Spirit with resentment.
Little Mantou on the side who only ate a little of the elf’s cooking had the impulse to tug that two swaying leaves on top of the ginseng’s head.
While Siri was sighing tiredly. It was already hard enough to feed two gluttons and another one popped up. Could he still live?
The little ginseng spirit couldn’t read their thoughts and it was only fixated on the food while muttering ’ji ji ji’.
Meanwhile, on Xun Minsheng’s side, after exhausting the team’s supplies, he was only able to heal 30% of his wounds.
And now the land, which was supposedly plan to house 30 individuals, was only able to build 10 thatched cottages, causing a lot of dissatisfaction, especially when none of them was able to use the summoning platform because of insufficient offering.
Chaos erupted, and the temporary subordinates, after seeing that Xun Minsheng was partly crippled, now had their courage increased and decided to rebel, threatening the villain to give up the remaining supplies.
Despite Xun Minsheng’s incessant honest confession that they were used up, the goons believed he had hidden some supplies, so they opted to use force.
The goons brandished their beginner weapons to the villain and Mei Ying, but as soon as the killing intention sprouted in their minds, the weapons on their hands dropped on the grass, and both of their hands bent with their elbows sticking out.
And without a second later, they started flapping their arms while circling around on the spot and began croaking ’I’m a chicken’ repeatedly.
The goons wanted to ask what was going on, but all their mouths could utter was the sentence, ’I’m a chicken.’
Xun Mingsheng was originally intended on escaping, but upon seeing that those people had fallen into some kind of curse and seemed incapable of regaining their combat ability for a while, he decided to eliminate them and get their territory crystals.
Mei Ying was unsure of what to do and only observed her leader’s actions. Truthfully, she was on the brink of her patience. If the leader wasn’t someone who knew a bit about the game, she would leave him and find someone more suitable to follow.
Xun Mingsheng limped to the nearest man and raised his hand dagger, only to find his hands losing strength and he joined the flock of humans turned chickens not a second after. His mouth also started spouting the same motto: ’I’m a chicken’.
The man who thought he would be dead laughed at Xun Mingheng’s misfortune, causing the latter to grit his teeth and hiss with pain because his unhealed wounds were being reopened by these big movements.
What was going on? How come I’m infected with the same curse as them?
Xun Minsheng maneuvered his body in the direction of Mei Ying to ask for her help, only to find out she was missing.
Damn, where is that woman?
After cursing inwardly for a few minutes, his attention was back on the people in the middle of drawing circles on the ground with their feet.
All pairs of eyes were locked on him, and he knew what those gazes meant. Once this whole matter is done, he will really be a roasted chicken.
However, that outcome seems to be easier said than done because, for the remaining time of the day, neither of them was able to lift the curse since both parties were filled with killing intents towards each other. It wasn’t until they were beyond exhausted and not capable of having a single thought that they sprawled on all fours outside the fence, unable to lift a finger.
At the same time, the first night of the global game had passed and the system made a global announcement that the monsters were back.
Xun Mingsheng and the others knew they were in deep trouble.
The players around the world were also anticipating for the arrival of the monsters and so was Li Chunhua who was squatting besides the fence together with Siri, Little Mantou and little Ginseng Spirit with a bloated belly waiting for the first monster to show up.
(A/N: Thank you for the Gift Charisseceniza (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ))
(A/N: The summon will not be limited to support, there are also combat type ranging from mage to warrior. I don’t know if it’s op. But it’s quite op to me.)
