Chapter 1021: Chapter 1012: Vacation (6)
Xia Siyu tilted her head. “Well, I don’t really care. As long as you guys don’t mind sharing a room and a bed tonight, it’s fine.”
“I do mind!” Wei Jingjing’s hair nearly stood on end, and she shivered for no reason.
Song Fengzhi, standing nearby, also frowned. “I won’t.”
“So that settles it.” Since they had to check out and change hotels, everyone had packed their luggage and was in the parking lot. Xia Siyu quickly shoved her luggage into Wei Jingjing’s arms and motioned for Little Tang to bring the car around. “You guys go ahead, don’t miss me. When we’re back at work on New Year’s Day, I’ll send you and Little Tang a red packet. Happy New Year.”
Wei Jingjing was pushed toward the car in a daze. She was about to get in when it dawned on her. “But Siyu, what about your car?”
Little Tang was driving them. And Xia Siyu? What about her?
Xia Siyu didn’t seem worried at all. “Don’t worry. The new hotel will send someone to pick me up.”
She answered without missing a beat. “I can order food if I need to eat, request a ride if I need to go anywhere, and if I’m broke, there’s Bo Yan. Any other questions?”
Wei Jingjing was left speechless and couldn’t come up with a reply for a long time. Xia Siyu decisively shut the car door. “Enjoy your trip, okay?”
Song Fengzhi still seemed hesitant. Xia Siyu squinted at him with a mischievous smile. “What’s the matter? Thinking about convincing Jingjing to stay behind and share a room with me?”
One sentence was all it took for Song Fengzhi to hop into the car without a second thought. Before leaving, he even rolled down the window, waved at Bo Yan, and said, “Yan, if anything comes up, just CALL me. I’m available 24/7.”
Xia Siyu smacked her lips. “Anyone who didn’t know better would think you two were the real lovebirds. Isn’t that ‘boy’s love’ genre trending these days? Little Song, maybe you should give it a try.”
Song Fengzhi hurriedly rolled the window back up.
Soon, the car sped off, leaving only Xia Siyu and Bo Yan behind in the quiet parking lot.
Bo Yan calmly glanced at his wife and remarked, “You’ve got quite a sharp tongue, don’t you? But why is it, whenever you face the media or fans, the words you say are so damn abrasive?”
At first, he had thought Xia Siyu was the quintessential proud and capricious type—putting in all her effort to pursue someone she liked, and throwing them aside the moment she lost interest. She wasn’t the least bit afraid of negative feedback; no matter what others said, she’d carefree shrug it off: bad publicity is still publicity.
But when he observed her with Wei Jingjing—half coaxing, half threatening, sprinkled with teasing and scolding—it was evident they were genuinely close. With Song Fengzhi, her attitude was more polite but still not overly confrontational.
This showed she wasn’t some self-absorbed narcissist. She knew how to interact with people and how to achieve her goals with clarity and precision.
Yet whenever she faced the media—it was like she turned into a walking, talking “clap-back” machine. Anything that could’ve been said nicely, she refused to say it that way—instead, she’d go out of her way to roast the other person.
“Tch. Why bother humoring those people? If I sweetened my words, would they praise me? No. They’d still find something to bash me for. So why should I degrade myself to please them, only to be insulted in the end?” Xia Siyu had never been someone to play the victim. For her loyal fans—like Shengxia Yanyu—she became friends with them. But as for haters? She couldn’t be bothered to spare them a glance. The more you hated her, the happier she’d live, just to spite you!
“Besides, I only ever speak the truth. I never lie, whether it’s in an interview or elsewhere.”
Bo Yan shook his head, utterly defeated by her. What could he even say about this person? Inside and out, her words and actions were one and the same—unapologetically herself. From another perspective, if she weren’t famous, who would be? She was practically a walking news headline all on her own.
