With a “ding”, Xia Siyu and Bo Yan simultaneously looked up, glancing towards the source of the alert sound.

Then came the sound of approaching footsteps.

Xia Siyu and Bo Yan quickly separated, hurriedly adjusting their clothing and putting on masks. Since Xia Siyu was a woman, she also took a moment to tidy her hair. Both of them concealed their expressions, and soon, a foreign female technician knocked on the door: “May I come in?”

“Come in,” Xia Siyu responded first, allowing the technician to enter. Bo Yan had already made arrangements with the store beforehand, so the technician merely carried a tray of tea and snacks, placed them down, and promptly left.

Even after the technician left, Bo Yan and Xia Siyu dared not stay any longer. After all, this was someone else’s establishment, and as public figures, causing any sort of commotion here would be utterly embarrassing.

“Which room is yours? I’ll come find you later,” Bo Yan finally spoke after a brief silence.

Xia Siyu gave him her room number, and the two of them changed back into the clothes they’d worn when they first arrived.

They exited separately after maintaining a slight distance between their steps.

As soon as Xia Siyu stepped outside, she bumped straight into the advertising team’s people: “Ms. Xia.”

Startled, Xia Siyu instinctively wanted to glance back, worried that Bo Yan might be spotted.

But she quickly calmed down, forcing herself to nod slightly and respond curtly: “Mhmm.”

“Here for a massage, huh? How’s the place?”

Xia Siyu nodded again: “It’s alright.”

As she spoke, she caught sight of Bo Yan dodging out of sight behind a column on the other side of the lobby. He was wearing a baseball cap, which luckily kept him unnoticed. Relieved, she exhaled and lightened up, asking casually, “The commercial should wrap up tomorrow, right?”

The advertising director replied, “With Ms. Xia here, tomorrow it’s definitely doable. We wouldn’t want to hold you up during the New Year, after all.”

Xia Siyu simply smiled without replying. She wasn’t phrasing it as a question—it was a statement. Either way, whether the shooting wrapped up successfully or not, it was ending tomorrow. Her contract timeline would be up, so if they wanted her to stay for extra shooting sessions, it wasn’t impossible, but it would cost more.

After parting ways, Bo Yan headed to the room Song Fengzhi had arranged for him. Once Xia Siyu settled into her room, Bo Yan came over to find her.

When the door opened, even though Xia Siyu had already showered earlier, she felt somewhat uncomfortable after wearing the massage robe and wanted to rinse off again. Bo Yan glanced at her and quickly nodded: “Me too, I just got here, I—”

“Swish!” Xia Siyu slid the bathroom door shut, and the sound of running water echoed inside, accompanied by her smug laughter: “Go ahead and shower by yourself. I’m kind-hearted enough not to trouble you to take care of me.”

She sure hadn’t wasted time learning his usual excuse to shower—after spending just a bit of time around him.

Bo Yan clenched his teeth, ready to barge in, but Xia Siyu called out again: “If you dare come in, don’t expect me to cater to you tonight.”

“Fine, you win.”

Bo Yan nodded, stepping back to withdraw and instead grabbed his room card. At lightning speed, he returned to his own room and swiftly rinsed himself off.

When he came back, Xia Siyu had already finished showering. The curtains were drawn, and she was applying body lotion to her skin.

This time, Bo Yan maintained a calm demeanor, simply taking the lotion from her hands. Xia Siyu knew exactly what he was about to say—something predictable, like “Out of generosity, let me help you apply the lotion.” Not wanting to grant his wish, she grinned mischievously and said, “You need some? Out of goodwill, I can lend it to you first. Use it and return it when you’re done.”
