Chapter 293: Chapter 258: The Mischievous Magical Treasure Lingji Emerges

The story speaks of the Golden Horned Boy, who was sent by Laojun with orders to bring the Banana Leaf Fan to Princess Iron Fan. Now that the two fans have become one, truly nothing can withstand its power.

The Banana Leaf Fan is a pre-birth treasure, created from the primordial qi. Laojun split it in two for the purpose of alchemy. If the two sides are separated, its power is quite average, especially the Yin side in Princess Iron Fan’s possession, which is only good for self-protection and not capable of taking lives. But now that the two sides are united, who could possibly stand in its way?

Wukong, having obtained the Wind-Calming Pearl from Lingji Bodhisattva, rushed straight to the Banana Leaf Cave. Upon arriving at the cave entrance, he happened upon Princess Iron Fan coming out.

"Mischievous Monkey, you actually dare to come here, unaware of my might?" railed Princess Iron Fan.

"Sister-in-law, this time you won’t be able to fan me away!" Wukong couldn’t help but smirk as he spoke.

"Oh, really? Watch out, for with a single wave of my fan, you might just vanish into ashes," Princess Iron Fan scoffed coldly.

Now that the two fans are one, even if Wukong had a hundred Wind-Calming Pearls, it wouldn’t matter—he would be blown away immediately. This kind of wind has touched upon the very essence of this world, and is even more profound, representing the root of "Xun," absolutely unstoppable. Pre-birth—before the opening of heaven and earth—such treasures can usually reach the roots of all things.

Upon hearing this, Wukong’s heart grew chill, realizing Princess Iron Fan must have come prepared. With this thought, he dared not take the matter lightly.

Princess Iron Fan opened her mouth, pulled out the Banana Leaf Fan from under her tongue, and waved it casually, making it grow larger. She uttered a spell and fanned it toward Wukong.

"What a powerful wind!"

At the sight of it, Wukong felt his fur stand on end, as the fierce wind seemed to be close to blowing his three souls and seven spirits out of his body—truly terrifying.

The ferocity of this wind was immense. Wukong held the Wind-Calming Pearl in his mouth, but the effect of the pearl clashed with the Banana Leaf Fan, and naturally could not withstand its power! It should be noted that Laojun is often depicted holding the Banana Leaf Fan, indicating the potency of this magical treasure.

"Snap!"

With a crisp sound, Wukong thought he had shattered his own teeth, but it turned out that the Wind-Calming Pearl had been instantly ground to dust in his mouth. He lost control and was sent flying backward, turning into a black shadow, vanishing in the blink of an eye.

If it weren’t for the Wind-Calming Pearl in his mouth, that one fan of hers would have swept his primordial spirit from his body, extinguished his Three Flowers, dissipated his Five Qi, and reduced him to ashes of calamity.

Wind, a wildly fierce power! This was wind at its extreme.

"Splash!"

Dazed, Wukong only felt water enter his mouth and nose, choking him awake.

"Great Saint, Great Saint! How come you’ve arrived at the Dragon Palace?" It was Prime Minister Tortoise who, seeing Wukong, hastily paid his respects.

Startled to see Prime Minister Tortoise, Wukong exclaimed, "I’ve come to the Eastern Sea?"

Prime Minister Tortoise replied, "Indeed, Great Saint, you fell from the sky; I thought it was a comet striking the sea! What a commotion it caused."

Wukong was secretly shocked, spat out the powdered remains of the Wind-Calming Pearl from his mouth, and cried out, "I was fanned at West Cow He State and ended up flying to the Eastern Sea? Did I fly over the Southern Toad Continent and Dongsheng Immortal State?"

To himself, he thought, "It seems Laojun gave his fan to Princess Iron Fan as well. With that one fan of hers, even the Wind-Calming Pearl from Lingji Bodhisattva couldn’t stand up to it—it was instantly shattered. Now I’m in a fine mess—I’ll tell Lingji Bodhisattva what happened and he’ll be furious. If it comes to confronting Princess Iron Fan, it’s likely to end in a big loss."

With the Banana Leaf Fan now in her possession, Princess Iron Fan probably wouldn’t even be directly challenged by Zhen Yuanzi; such a strike could possibly overwhelm even the Book of Earth.

Princess Iron Fan, having fanned Wukong away in one go and shattered the Wind-Calming Pearl, was also taken aback and thought, "The Elder’s magical treasure is truly remarkable. It looks like someone will come looking for me soon! But armed with such a magical treasure, I fear no one."

Now fearless, Princess Iron Fan felt invincible with such a magical treasure in hand; whoever came her way would meet their end, unstoppable.

Ox Demon King, watching intently from the clouds, saw Wukong being fanned away again, descended, and asked, "Did that one wave of your fan kill him?"

Upon seeing the Ox Demon King, Princess Iron Fan couldn’t help but rejoice and laughingly said, "Hardly, hardly! He had borrowed the Wind-Calming Pearl from Lingji Bodhisattva. Without that magical treasure, I’m afraid he’d have been killed with a single wave. It’s no big deal; he was just blown far away, that’s all."

Ox Demon King let out a sigh of relief and said, "I was afraid you wouldn’t know your own strength, wife. If you had accidentally killed my brother with one swing, that would have been terrible."

Princess Iron Fan retorted angrily, "When have I ever not known my own strength? The Elder gave the order, so go and tell him if you have a problem with it!"

The Ox Demon King shivered and said, "Never mind, I’ll stay hidden in the clouds. When those baldies from the Buddhist sect come knocking, we’ll join forces and leave not a single piece of their armor intact."

Princess Iron Fan said, "The Buddhist sect has been getting too rampant lately; it’s about time we cut down their arrogance!"

The Ox Demon King nodded and said, "Hmm, I’m afraid your fan may have shattered Lingji Bodhisattva’s Wind-Calming Pearl. Once Lingji Bodhisattva arrives, kill him. With Lingji Bodhisattva dead, the Buddhist sect will surely send their strongest, and that’s when I will step in to kill a few more! The Patriarch will naturally intervene then."

Princess Iron Fan agreed, "Alright!"

The Ox Demon King then vanished back into the cloud. Having obtained the Chi You Battle Armor, his mana had greatly increased, and now hidden in the cloud, he was undetectable.

On the other hand, Wukong left the Eastern Sea, mounting his VLOOKUP(A1025,[1]Sheet1!$A:$B,2,0), and hurried towards West Cow He State. His VLOOKUP(A1025,[1]Sheet1!$A:$B,2,0) was extremely fast, and in the blink of an eye, he arrived and landed in West Cow He State.

He entered the grounds of Lingji Bodhisattva and was greeted by the Bodhisattva who came out with a smile and asked, "Great Saint, have you come to return the Wind-Calming Pearl?"

Wukong replied with a bow, "Bodhisattva, forgive me, but I have come with some unfortunate news."

Lingji Bodhisattva’s face shifted, and he asked, "What unfortunate news?"

Wukong replied with a bitter smile, "Bodhisattva, your Wind-Calming Pearl couldn’t withstand the Banana Leaf Fan. I had the Wind-Calming Pearl in my mouth, and when Princess Iron Fan fanned it, the Pearl just broke, and I was blown all the way to the Eastern Sea. I’ve just rushed back from there."

Wukong handed over a clump of powder to Lingji Bodhisattva, who, upon seeing it, realized it was indeed the transformed Wind-Calming Pearl and couldn’t help feeling heartbroken. He exclaimed, "How could you, Macaca? I kindly lent you a magical treasure, and you broke it. What are we to do now?"

Wukong helplessly shook his head, "It wasn’t intentional. That Banana Leaf Fan is truly formidable, and I am no match for it! We’ll have to rely on your wisdom to find a solution."

Since Wukong was on a mission from Tathagata to borrow the Wind-Calming Pearl and had now damaged it, Lingji Bodhisattva could only complain a little and refrain from saying too much, lest he upset Tathagata.

The Bodhisattva said, "Alright, I’ll go with you to meet this Princess Iron Fan and see what she’s capable of. Where is she? Lead the way."

Wukong replied, "She’s at the Banana Leaf Cave next to Flame Mountain on the western side of the Women’s Kingdom. I’ll lead the way, and you follow, Bodhisattva."

Lingji Bodhisattva took his Demon-Subduing Pestle and walking stick, among other magical treasures, and followed Wukong on the clouds. Wukong did not use his VLOOKUP(A1025,[1]Sheet1!$A:$B,2,0) but kept an average pace, and the two headed straight for the Banana Leaf Cave.

In his heart, Lingji Bodhisattva thought, "My Wind-Calming Pearl was just shattered? Could it be that Macaca did it on purpose? Is there some collusion with Princess Iron Fan? She is, after all, the wife of the Ox Demon King, and it’s not impossible for them to have conspired in secret."

Lingji Bodhisattva suspected Wukong and Princess Iron Fan of conspiring together, not considering that the Banana Leaf Fan had achieved Integration. Had he known, he wouldn’t have ventured to find Princess Iron Fan in the Banana Leaf Cave even if it meant losing his life. This trip could very well end with a death, turning to ashes.

Lingji Bodhisattva had a great magical treasure ruined, and with anger in his heart, he did not speak to Wukong during the journey, solely focused on reaching the Banana Leaf Cave.

Ox Demon King, on the lookout from the cloud above, spotted the two approaching from afar and quickly transmitted a message to Princess Iron Fan, "They’re coming! Wukong is bringing Lingji Bodhisattva here. Be careful, Iron Fan, and make sure to kill Lingji, but remember not to harm Wukong."

Princess Iron Fan emerged from the Banana Leaf Cave and assured Ox Demon King, "Don’t you worry, you oaf—I know what I’m doing!"

Although Princess Iron Fan appeared beautiful and elegant, she was a notoriously violent woman. The way she referred to herself as ’this old woman’ was quite brash, but the Ox Demon King was long used to it. Now he thought to himself that the Jade-faced Fox sister was indeed much gentler.

As Wukong and Lingji Bodhisattva approached the Banana Leaf Cave, Princess Iron Fan came out to meet them, wielding the Banana Leaf Fan.

What would be their fate? Stay tuned for the next installment.
