Chapter 136 - 133: Enlightenment Dao in Five Elements Mountain to Resolve Difficulties

Chapter 136: Chapter 133: Enlightenment Dao in Five Elements Mountain to Resolve Difficulties

Underneath Five Elements Mountain, already a century had passed.

For Buddha Ancestor to demonstrate compassion, he assigned the Five Directions Kaide to guard beneath Five Elements Mountain. When Wukong felt hungry, they would feed him iron pellets; when thirsty, they would give him copper juice to drink. Pressed under Five Elements Mountain, Wukong had almost completely lost his mana and found it difficult even to fast. He had to drink copper juice every half year and eat a few iron pellets. Tathagata was truly ruthless, making him unable to fast, barely surviving half a year Max. Without food, he might have become the first Da Luo Golden Immortal to starve to death.

Helpless, Wukong had to eat those iron pellets and drink copper juice every half-year. Fortunately, he had refined Vajra Invulnerable flesh in Old Lord’s Eight Trigrams Furnace, which allowed him to munch noisily on the iron pellets before swallowing them, and the copper juice was digestible as well.

"Monkey head, do you want to eat pellets today?" quipped Jinguang-jiedi with a smirk.

"Baldy, your Grandfather Sun isn’t hungry yet! Don’t get too smug. Just wait, when your grandpa gets out, I’ll beat you to dust and ashes," Wukong retorted.

"You Macaca, still talking big while being suppressed under the mountain. Do you believe that we could stop giving you iron pellets and let you become the first Da Luo Golden Immortal to die of starvation?" taunted Yintou-jiedi, seeming quite pleased with himself.

Wukong grimaced and said with a grin, "If you’ve got the guts, starve me to death and see how Tathagata punishes you all."

The Five Directions Kaide were startled—oh, this one’s a sharp one, aware that Buddha Ancestor wouldn’t kill him?

Mahasatya cursed, "You Macaca, still so arrogant! Take this kick!"

His kick landed on Wukong’s head, but instead, he only ended up hurting his own foot. Wukong simply shook his head, a bit dizzy from the blow.

Wukong jeered, "Grandpa Sun has copper skin and iron bones. Your fleshly leg can’t even shake me!"

Enraged, Mahasatya released his Sharira, cursing, "I’ll see if I can’t beat you to death!"

Jinguang-jiedi hurriedly intervened, "Don’t act rashly. This monkey is provoking you on purpose. If you really kill or cripple him, how will we explain to Buddha Ancestor?"

"Damn it all, while others enjoy incense in Mount Meru, we have to guard this monkey for centuries. It’s infuriating!" cursed Mahasatya bitterly.

"You monk, you’ve moved to anger now. That’s not good, not good!" said Wukong earnestly.

Provoked by Wukong’s words until he was fuming, Wukong further insulted Mahasatya’s ancestors. Coming from a wild background, his curses were fierce and venomous, leaving the other four Kaide utterly dumbstruck. This monkey was not only skillful in magic but also in his biting words—it was enough to make someone roll their eyes and keel over dead.

"Ah, enough! Monkey head, I swear I must teach you a lesson today or I am no human," declared Mahasatya, drenched in figurative dog’s blood, fury making the Three Corpses Deity leap like thunder. With a Sharira in hand, he struck down toward Wukong.

Just as the Sharira was about to hit, a streak of green light swept past, striking the Sharira and sending it flying.

The Five Directions Kaide looked closely and saw the newcomer was a taioist in black garments. Although his appearance was ordinary, he gave off an air of deep stability mixed with a profound, eerie wildness. Overall, the Taoist seemed deep like water, yet a dangerous aura also surrounded him.

"Fellow Daoist, who might you be? Would you oppose us?" asked Jinguang-jiedi.

"This humble Taoist has been quietly observing Five Elements Mountain to prevent you villains from harming this Monkey King! Seeing this today, I had no choice but to intervene," replied the comer, who was actually Wukong’s third embodiment, Enlightenment Dao. Enlightenment Dao had been consuming Peaches of Immortality in Flower-Fruit Mountain for a century, eating one daily, summing to over thirty thousand over the years.

Enlightenment Dao was here to exact revenge on behalf of his true self. These five Kaide had been excessively arrogant over the century. Without beating them thoroughly, it was difficult to quell Wukong’s indignation. Moreover, Enlightenment Dao didn’t carry any Magical Treasure, but it was an excellent opportunity to borrow one or two from Wukong.

Wukong said with a smile, "Good Daoist, you alone are not a match for these five. Quickly give me something to eat, and I’ll spit out a Magical Treasure for you to fight them with."

Enlightenment Dao shoved a Peach of Immortality into Wukong’s mouth, who chewed and swallowed it, regaining some mana. Opening his mouth, he spat out the Seven Stars Sword he had taken from Laojun, which Enlightenment Dao caught.

Enlightenment Dao added, "You who wish to kill Sun Wukong have been recorded by my Mirror Technique. I will report back to the Emperor, who in turn will inform Buddha Ancestor to punish you all!"

The Five Directions Kaide were again startled. Could this person be an Immortal Official? But why didn’t they recognize him? Given his considerable mana, could he be a disciple of some Great Emperor?

Just now, Mahasatya had made an offering of Sharira to strike Wukong, and he too was extremely furious. However, if the strike had really hit Wukong, who was currently powerless, it could have likely splattered his brains in one blow, badly crippling if not killing him. He had initially provoked them verbally, solely to provide Wukong an excuse to strike, ensuring no one could suspect or dare to speak out after being attacked.

The mana of the Five Directions Kaide was not very high, only the Jinguang-jiedi at the forefront was at the Karmic Realm of the first layer of Daluo Golden Immortal, while the others hovered within the third layer of the Heavenly Human Realm of Taiyi Golden Immortal.

Wudao had already reached the Rule Realm of the second layer of Daluo Golden Immortal, which was far more formidable than them. Mastering the rules was a completely different concept from not mastering them. If one could control the rules freely, fighting him would be as unpredictable as fighting a ghost or a god: a spell cast in front could land behind him, and one cast from below could fall from above his head. This was the effect of reversing the rules.

"We cannot let this rogue go, just kill him outright. Even if he doesn’t report us to the Jade Emperor, if the Buddha Ancestor hears of this, we will still suffer! Let’s kill this rogue first!" Yintou-jiedi shouted, his eyes flickering with a fierce light.

Wudao placed the Seven Stars Sword on his back, secured it with a cloth, drew the sword, and said, "Since you have sought death yourselves, I am left with no choice!"

Jinguang-jiedi burst out shouting, stomped on the ground, causing it to shake. Behind him rose a dragon and an elephant, this was the "Dragon-Elephant Great Power Seal". By forming this seal, one could borrow the power of the Dragon and Elephant from the Buddhist Sect. Once displayed, that power was quite terrifying.

Wudao’s cultivation was based on the technique obtained from Wuzhiqi, called "Gui Water True Scripture", authored by the Ancient Rain Master Chisongzi. Chisongzi was also a renowned and formidable figure, a top among Mixed Yuan Golden Immortals, profound in Daoist Teachings. But after a battle in the Middle Ancient Times, there was no news of him—it was unknown whether he died or stayed in the South Sea Ruins to heal.

This treatise authored by Chisongzi describes how to cultivate True Qi using the power of Gui Water, including many of his divine skills, highly sought after by those with Water System Divine Power.

But see, Wudao swung the Seven Stars Sword in his hand, gathering the power of the Big Dipper on the blade, the cold light flashing. With one slash, the sword qi poured down like the Milky Way, a massive swath falling.

Jinguang-jiedi was about to block when suddenly, with a flick of the spell in Wudao’s hand, the sword qi before him began to twist, flashing to his left side and slicing horizontally!

"Ah, a master of the second layer of Daluo Golden Immortal!" Jinguang-jiedi yelled out loud. He quickly pushed the dragon and elephant behind him forward; they roared as they collided with the sword qi, creating a thunderous explosion. The dragon and elephant shattered, but the sword qi still flew over.

Jinguang-jiedi formed another Dharma Seal, shouting, "Tiger Roar Golden Bell Cover, Dragon Chant Iron Cloth Shirt!"

This time, his body issued the sounds of dragons and tigers. A burst of golden light fell, enveloping his entire body with continuous dragon chants and tiger roars. The sword qi slashed down with another loud sound, but it couldn’t break through his Golden Bell Cover and Iron Cloth Shirt.

The other four jiedi also came to their senses, shouting, "Quick, take down this rogue, or we’ll be in danger!"

Mahasatya was immensely regretful. Why had he gotten so angry just now, inviting such trouble? If something really went wrong, what then?

Then, Wudao suddenly waved his hand, employing a divine skill of the Rain Mage Chisongzi, called "Summon Wind and Call Rain".

This fierce wind blew, and heavy rain fell; each raindrop was actually a small water thunder, each exploding massively, blasting the Five Directions Kaide into a pitiful state.

With a thrust of his sword, fast as lightning, Wudao wounded Poluo-seng-jiedi’s arm in a blink and then turned around and slashed Yintou-jiedi’s thigh.

Wudao kept swinging his sword, injuring four of the Kaide. Jinguang-jiedi, protected by the Golden Bell Cover, was somewhat difficult to hurt, but Wudao concentrated the Divine Skill of Summon Wind and Call Rain at one point, bombing almost a hundred thousand water thunders down, directly smashing the Golden Bell Cover into pieces. Jinguang-jiedi immediately flew out, covered in blood.

Wudao couldn’t afford to kill them; if he did, Tathagata would inevitably know. Tathagata, mysterious and profound, might be able to predict his origins, which would be a small mistake for a great loss.

Not killing these Kaide, they had suffered a great defeat, five against one and having lost, the shame was obvious, and they had put Wukong’s life in great danger as well, which was even more unspeakable! The five Kaide, wounded in one strike by Wudao, were like eating bitter Argyi, unable to say a word, thinking it impossible to seek help from their sect for revenge. If the cause of the issue was known to the Buddha Ancestor, all five would have to suffer in Nili Hell.

Wudao slid his sword back into the sheath behind his back, sneering, "You do not recognize what is good for you. This is just a lesson, but if there is a next time, I will have to make sure your heads are separated from your bodies! I don’t want to gossip unnecessarily, but now that Buddhism and Daoism have just settled their discord. As long as you treat this Monkey King well in the future, this matter will die in its inception. Any objections?"

The Five Directions Kaide, who thought they faced a great disaster, were unexpectedly given a chance by this Taoist, immediately rejoiced and said, "No, no! Dao friend indeed has the demeanor of a True Man of Dao and Virtue, we will definitely keep to our duties, never overstepping the bounds again."

Wudao nodded and left riding the clouds.

Wukong thought to himself, "From now on, I finally won’t have to eat his grandmother’s rotten iron pellets! Tathagata, once my mana is high enough, I’ll have to stuff a mouthful of lead mercury pellets in your mouth."
