Chapter 401: Chapter 401: Visiting the Bookstore
Ji Yang didn’t bother to pay attention to how they were discussing the matter. He had realized that this wasn’t something that could be accomplished so easily; he would have to show these people a bit of his clout.
His accommodation was naturally at the municipal government’s guesthouse.
After renovations, the guesthouse was quite impressive—its various facilities nearly on par with those of star-rated hotels.
After checking in, Ji Yang left the guesthouse.
Having no particular destination in mind, he found a small eatery at random and ordered a few stir-fried dishes, then sat down to eat alone.
Watching the bustling crowd, Ji Yang felt a wave of sentiment. He had been a nobody, yet in such a short time, he had become a county committee secretary.
After finishing his meal, Ji Yang aimlessly strolled the streets.
Suddenly, he saw a large Xinhua Bookstore ahead. Realizing he needed to enrich his knowledge base, he walked in.
There weren’t many people in the bookstore. After browsing for a while, Ji Yang came across a section filled with books on health preservation.
He was surprised to find many books on cultivation techniques and health preservation.
Ji Yang’s interest was piqued. After all, some changes had occurred to him. With several of his meridians cleared, he had capacities in bed that couldn’t be matched by an ordinary man.
He had previously read some books on Chinese medicine and meridians. Now, seeing so many books on health preservation and cultivation techniques, he thought perhaps it was time he delved into this field.
There were many books on meditation, a practice Ji Yang had never undertaken. Picking up one, he discovered that not only people in China practiced it, but many Western achievers did as well.
Although Ji Yang was unsure if these people truly practiced such techniques, his consideration for the matter deepened.
After flipping through the books and finding many similarities among them, he selected the one that appeared to be the most comprehensive to purchase.
Of course, he also found books on local cultivation techniques. Ji Yang didn’t know whether or not they were legitimate, but in his view, real or fake, he would buy them all for his research.
After searching for a while, he found several relevant books.
Then Ji Yang also picked up some books on Chinese medicine and meridians.
At the register, he realized he had bought hundreds of yuan worth of books.
He felt good carrying a large bag of books.
Originally, he had intended to buy management books, but now he had enough reading material for a while.
Seeing a shop selling various types of bags next door, Ji Yang went in and bought a travel backpack to store his books.
With no more desire to browse, he headed back to the guesthouse.
Once there, Ji Yang took a shower and sat down comfortably to start reading.
The book he picked up was on meditation.
Without concerning himself with the specifics of the book, he got down to reading earnestly.
It was only then that Ji Yang discovered the profound depth of meditation, realizing its significant benefits for his breath control and diligently studied it. He committed various meditation requirements to memory, intending to fully commit to meditating this time.
