Talent System: I Instantly Master My Opponents Skills
Chapter 99: Home Sweet Lonely Home

Chapter 99: Home Sweet Lonely Home

’100 points from Delayed fist.’

’200 points from Terrible cloning.’

’200 points from Quick steps.’

’And 300 points from a successful synchronization.’

’That makes 200 points now.’

’I have enough points for the invisibility potion.’ Jason thought after the amount of points he had gotten.

That was more than good news to Jason as he had been in debt to the system for a very long time, he would have to make sure never to borrow from the system ever unless he was in a very tight spot.

This now made him to despise borrowing.

’I should probably save for 1x candies.’ Jason pondered, considering the thought of buying the very same candy he had bought to supplement his growth some years ago.

Jason had only his thoughts to keep him company.

"Hey."

An unfamiliar voice came to his ear.

Jason turned to his left and looked up.

Kairo was the one that had come to talk to him, it made sense since he didn’t recognize the voice.

"I want to apologize for everything I did to you."

"Don’t worry about it." Jason replied casually.

If anything, Kairo would have been the one that would have gotten beaten if he had actually decided to punch, the same thing would have happened supposing that he and Zane were matched against each other.

Unfortunately for him, he and Morrigan faced each other and evidently he had been shown true fear.

"No, I’m seriously sorry for what I did. I hope I can do something to make it up to you."

’What?!’ Jason was honestly perplexed.

Kairo.

’What happened to him?’

For his character to change so suddenly in a span of thirty minutes something had to be involved.

"If you really want to make it up to me, tell me what happened when Morrigan used her technique on you.

But if you don’t want to tell me, that’s fine."

He could see the hesitation on Kairo’s face when he mentioned Sixth Sense: Fear, it was obvious that what happened to him when the technique was used was not something that he would want to talk about.

"It’s alright." Kairo finally said, though he was hesitant.

"Sit down."

Jason gestured for him to sit next to him on the ground.

His expression showed how hesitant he was about recalling what happened, if he was being honest he would rather forget about everything, but after seeing the strength Jason displayed he was sure that he didn’t want that kind of person as an enemy.

He sat uncomfortably next to Jason.

"If you don’t want to say it, its alright." Jason said, though he already knew how Kairo would react.

He was just trying to make the boy feel more guilty so he would start speaking quicker.

"No, no, its alright."

"Okay. What was the first thing that happened when her fingers touched your forehead?"

Even if he had already heard what it did by the Hades’ clan elder, it would still be good to have information from someone that had been put under the technique and showed signs of being affected gravely.

"When she used it, nothing happened, I just felt that I wouldn’t lose there and when I tried to attack... it came."

"What came?" Jason inquired.

"Fear." Kairo said solemnly. "It devoured me whole... It felt like it was consuming me."

Jason paused, unsure of what to say. He didn’t know if he should comfort Kairo or just stay silent.

"I thought that I would be afraid to fight after that." Kairo suddenly continued. "But I only feel fear when I see her."

Again, Jason didn’t know how to respond to that.

"Did anything else happen? Like the scenery changing to something more hellish, or underworldish? Because it seems like to induce that amount of fear into you, that wasn’t enough." Jason questioned.

Kairo paused, he was hesitant with his reply.

"No." He finally answered.

’He’s obviously lying.’

"So that’s what happened. Thank you, Kairo, to be honest I already forgave you the moment you came here to apologize." Jason offered a small smile.

"Thanks for understanding." Kairo got up, leaving.

’Why did he lie?’ Jason wondered, careful not to muse out as Kairo was in hearing distance.

He would have been blind if he didn’t notice Kairo’s hesitation to answer when he asked about the change in scenery.

The small smile left his face.

’Is it because of the technique, did it impose something on him?’ He thought. ’I’m not sure, it could probably just be because of the fear she inputted in him.’

’That means there’s obviously a change in scenery, probably multiple changes, each one more intense than the other for him to have such a drastic change in character in under half an hour.’

Jason was left to his own devices, his thoughts his only company.

...(5 Hours Later)

Hereon tapped Jason "lightly".

Jason woke up immediately.

"What?"

"We’re leaving, the elder instructed me to wake you up." Hereon’s voice was unnaturally cold.

"Already?"

"You have been sleeping for three hours." He informed Jason, his annoyance was already slipping through his facade.

"Three hours?" Jason repeated.

Hereon did not humor him.

’The wall was comfortable, but.’ He thought.

In this life Jason had never slept on a bed.

To him, the ground was a bed, and in the ground he found solace. The term ’bed’ was not in the dictionary.

"When did the other heirs leave?"

"Thirty minutes ago." Hereon replied curtly.

"I see." Jason murmured.

They walked through the hall, passing by the bloodstains on the ground from the numerous fights that had taken place awhile ago.

"What did all of you do?"

It was clear that Hereon was getting annoyed by his questions, but he asked them anyway.

"A tour. We were given a tour of this building."

’Thankfully, I slept while that happened.’

They left the hall.

Outside, both Zane and the elder awaited them.

Instead of talking, the elder said no words, he activated the teleportation treasure.

All four were surrounded by a blinding golden light, and in a flash, they were no longer in the hall of the dead-looking building.

They were back in the Hachiman clan main building tens of thousands, if not a hundred thousand kilometers away from that place.

"The guards will be here shortly to take the both of you back to your quarters." The elder informed both he and Hereon.

The blinding golden light returned, but this time it only lingered on Zane and the elder.

In a flash, their forms were gone. The place they once stood was devoid of people.

As soon as they vanished, Jason wasted no time in leaving.

He already knew the inside-out of the main clan residence having dashed through it while the effects of the simple invisibility potion were active, though that was a long time ago.

He walked past the numerous guards that were stationed around that area, pretending not to see their embarrassing, ridiculous hiding.

After walking for awhile he finally arrived home.

His gaze met Emily’s grave.

His mind wandered to some months ago, back then he didn’t have much to worry about, only a clan trial he didn’t take seriously and a little girl to care for.

He lived a carefree life.

And he still did, the only difference between then and now was that he wanted to make it harder.

’I wonder, if I didn’t have the system, would I have gone to her grave to tell her about my day?"

Jason was many things; a cheater, a magicless cripple and a reincarnator. But he wasn’t delusional.

He was well aware that after death normal humans got sent to hell, a place where they would be sent into the cycle of reincarnation and turned into monsters. Powerful humans – at least grade 2 and above – had a chance of either sides.

There was no doubt that Emily had gone to hell, but even that wasn’t enough to sadden him.

He walked past her grave, pulling his shoes off before heading into his house.

"Finally." Jason said out loud.

He was finally home after all the things that had happened today.

"At least I know I won’t be stuck in the clan in the next two years."

He would be involved with the plot of the novel. It was his favorite novel in his past life, it was one of the reasons he had died in his past life; including the truck that almost killed him and the race cars.

And unfortunately to survive, he would have to do gain much more strength.

To get that strength he would have to push his body to the limits.

And to do that, he would need to enter the A-Dungeon.

But the question remained, who would allow him enter it?
