Jason stared at his fists as the Raijin clan elder tended to his defeated opponent.

Their fight hadn’t even lasted half a minute before one of them fainted.

The Raijin clan boy had thought that if he could evade Jason’s blow with his speed he would have a better chance of winning, so as the battle started he began sprinting sideways to avoid Jason. But before he knew it, a powerful force sent him flying backwards.

Jason had countered the boy’s speed with his own, and then won easily.

His only disappointment was that he was unable to make the boy hit the wall, just like his last opponent.

’I’ll make sure to put more power in it next time.’ Jason thought, though he was blissfully unaware that his fight had ended here.

He was already classified as one of the winners, he had a feeling that Hereon would come to join him.

He watched as the Raijin clan elder carried the fallen boy away, he also left the ring as well.

’My fights have been over in a blink.’ Jason thought, settling in the corner as usual.

"Next!" Smith Payster’s voice boomed.

Both Hereon and his respective opponent came out.

Hereon was facing the other girl from the Amaterasu clan, a clan that specialized in fire magic like him. As Jason watched from afar he wondered if Hereon would resort to beating her to a pulp, like he had done to the Raijin clan member.

The fight was over quickly, barely taking a few minutes before the victor was announced.

The Amaterasu clan member was bleeding, she had been stabbed in the shoulders and in the abdomen with his sword, before being given a right hook that knocked her unconscious.

While fighting Hereon’s expression softened as he stabbed her in the abdomen, as if bad memories were resurfacing, then his face mirrored one of frustration before he gave her the finishing blow; a right hook that knocked her unconscious.

Both he and Hereon were announced as the winners of their segment, before they moved on to the segment meant for the clan heirs.

Their fights were appetizers before the main event.

’The first fight is between Zane and Alexia, then Kairo and the Hades clan girl, while Ezra is seeded.’ Jason thought recalling what he had heard.

’Unfortunately, with this arrangement it would be impossible to know the Hades clan girl’s strength.’ Jason mused. ’In the fight between Alexia and Kairo in Ch 2 Kairo was humiliated by Alexia, he is undoubtedly the weakest of the five.’

Jason watched from afar as both Zane and Alexia made their way into the fighting grounds as their names were called, both were weaponless.

Zane and Alexia were both great for each other, for starters, both of them usually wore a cold gaze as their everyday appearance, both used lightning magic as their elemental magic, and both used the cold gaze to hide their true feelings.

’While Alexia’s affinity with lightning magic is great, Zane’s is higher.’ Jason was already deciding the outcome of the fight. ’Zane has a greater control over his magic after fighting with me, he’s able to send small bolts of electric at me even though he’s weaker than me.’

Alexia was a fifteen year old with white long hair that went down to her shoulders, electric blue eyes, a button nose and a beautiful appearance. And her chest were proportionate enough even though she still had more years for growth.

But nobody had time to admire each other’s appearances.

Both of them had their space rings on, it was no doubt that they would use their weapons when the fight started.

"Begin!"

As soon as the words were said, both awakeneds lunged at each other.

’She’s faster than Zane.’ Jason thought in surprise as he watched the match from the corner.

Suddenly, Zane’s speed increased as they charged at each other.

He had used the skill: Z-Charge.

Both of their weapons clashed; both brandishing daggers.

Sparks flew around from both the weapons and the fighters.

Suddenly, Zane flicked the dagger from his left hand to his right as she disengaged him.

Sparks flew from his hand as he activated a skill.

Jason had seen Zane use this skill before, it was a 30 hit combo that had the same requirements as but its effect wasn’t as good as it would have been if he was able to input enough mana into it.

Now, Zane’s movements were fast, faster than Jason had ever seen him use the skill.

His dagger came from all angles, he aimed to take her out, even with a low hit.

Alexia tried to dodge, her movements frantic as she twisted to dodge his attacks and blocking with her weapon when there was no way out, but even then, she was unable to defend against all of her opponents’ attacks.

Her clothes tore and wounds opened as Zane’s attacks got through her defenses.

Just as he was about to land the last hit on her, a discharge of electricity erupted from around her – the air seemingly to crackle with static electricity as she released a discharge of electricity around her.

Zane was caught off guard from her counter, his body slowing down greatly as the foreign lightning coursed through him.

It was only for a brief moment, but during that time Alexia darted backwards to escape from him.

’I thought that he would get the chance to finish that combo, but it seems that she wouldn’t have the right to call herself the heir to the Raijin clan if she can’t even put up a decent fight.’

No sooner had she gone back before charging in again, Zane managed to defend in time, putting his dagger up to deflect hers.

They both went at it, both continuously dodging, blocking and attacking each other with their weapons.

The fight continued for a few minutes in that motion, that was until Zane charged in, his movements slower than usual as he feigned to pivot to the right. But then, he went left instead, aiming to catch her off guard.

But Alexia had anticipated it, she moved her hands to block Zane’s dagger.

Only for it to meet the air instead.

At her back, Zane’s cold dagger was pressed against her nape. It was positioned to allow him to dig it into her nape if she even bothered to retaliate.

He had outwitted her... somehow.

’He’s using that Z-charge to cheat.’ Jason thought, his eyes able to catch Zane’s movements. ’But even then, I can tell that he’s had a lot of growth since we last fought.’
