Hereon’s body emitted flames as he combated the spider, but even after he coated his entire body with mana and even strained himself further with the breathing technique, the spider was still unscathed.

The air around him pulsed with heat as he swung his sword, the flames flickered as the boy struggled to use both the breathing technique and mana on his body at the same time.

He raised his sword as one of the spider’s legs came slicing through the air with terrifying speed.

The leg of the monster made contact with his sword causing it to shatter, the leg continued forward after breaking the sword and going through his abdomen.

Pain exploded throughout his wound.

The force of the blow couldn’t send him flying backwards as he was impaled by the sharp limb of the sub-boss, he felt the life being forcefully sucked out of him.

The spider moved its leg backwards, leaving a gaping hole through his abdomen.

Hereon fell onto his knees, he could feel the large gaping hole that had gone through him.

The crimson red liquid poured freely out of the hole, in less than a second it had already trickled down his leg and bloodied his clothing.

"Hereon!" Titania let out an ear-piercing scream.

She launched a large ball of water at the Giant Arachnid Spider, one that dwarfed all her former ones.

The water ball hit the spider on its face/body.

The creature staggering backwards to recover.

But that was all Titania needed, in the small time she had she ran over to Hereon, in her hands was a healing potion. She forced the potion down her brother’s throat, in no time he had already began to recover.

"I’ll fend it off while you recover." Her voice was soothing to his ears.

She began to form her next attack, a whip of water that would keep the monster away while Hereon recovered.

Titania felt her heart ache as she saw the poor condition of her brother, the hole around his abdomen had began to close, going at astonishing speeds.

But the spider didn’t give her the chance to finish forming the water whip, before she could add the finishing touch, Hereon’s performed a sweep on her with his arm, the leg of the monster wheezing a little over her head as she fell.

Her head hit the rocky surface of the cavern, even though it pained a bit she was still alive.

Hereon stood up, his hands gripped the broadsword in his hands tightly.

The wound in his chest hadn’t closed completely, but it had recovered enough for him to continue fighting.

Hereon’s sword struck the spider’s legs, but the steel bounced off the chitinous armor of the spider, the monster responded by swinging its leg at his initial position.

He jumped out of the way, barely dodging the attack aimed to kill him.

"Support from long-range." This was an order, one she couldn’t reject.

She gritted her teeth as she watched her brother fighting, her eyes were reluctant but watching her brother, she realized she couldn’t help from close-range.

As soon as she got up to start running she fell down back again.

It wasn’t because of fear.

She wouldn’t be able to move again, unless fed a healing potion.

The spider had seen her when she began moving, to prevent her from escaping it ignored Hereon and cleanly cut off her leg.

The limb fell onto the ground after Titania.

For a second nothing happened, the air was thick and in that one second, Hereon felt a lot of emotions going through him.

Fear, shock, confusion.

Then, blood sprayed in the air.

It met Hereon’s clothes and dyed them in its color, he was coated in the blood of his sister.

Hereon was too shocked to believe this.

He didn’t know how to respond to what had just happened.

’Stabbing me through the heart is one thing, but cutting my sister’s leg off...’

"... IS UNFORGIVABLE!!" Hereon shouted, he felt his blood boil as he watched the despicable spider.

He unconsciously activated the breathing technique, at the same time his mana coated his body.

Unlike before, the mana coating him did not flicker because he used the breathing technique and mana to reinforce his body at the same time.

The fire didn’t flicker, it grew in intensity.

In an instant he disappeared from his original position, the ground cracked as he vanished, he flashed before the spider.

*CHHIIING

The sound reverberated through the air as Hereon’s sword made contact one of the spider’s legs, this time was different from all the other times he swung, the sword didn’t bounce off the chitinous armor of the spider.

It cut halfway through.

He didn’t try to cut all the way through the monster, instead he retreated.

The spider’s leg moved to him as he landed, he didn’t try to dodge this time. He was going to slice through the spider’s leg... This time.

*BOOM

Before he could put his sword up to slice through the monster’s leg the creature’s limb came in contact with him.

The force of the blow sent him flying backwards and crashing into the wall of the cavern.

Hereon didn’t faint from the force of the blow, but he felt crippled, he was unable to move any part of his body.

"Hereon!!" She shouted.

Titania watched her brother get blasted away after getting hit by one of the spider’s leg, in this moment she forgot to take out the healing potion so she could heal/regrow her limb.

The Giant Arachnid Spider moved towards her.

It was coming to kill her.

She was going to die.

The Giant spider loomed before her, it raised a leg, ready to drive it down into her heart.

But despite this, she smiled.

Titania raised her head to look in her brother’s direction, their eyes met, one was on the verge of crying while the other had a peaceful look on her face.

"Hereon." She said, loud enough for him to hear her.

The spider’s leg pierced through her heart.

"If I could live again, I wouldn’t change anything..." Blood flowed out her mouth. "Because you were the best brother I could ask for."

Her head dropped onto the ground, her red eyes lost their color and became black.

She was dead.
