Talent System: I Instantly Master My Opponents Skills -
Chapter 56: Day 3 (2)
Chapter 56: Day 3 (2)
The only emotion Jason felt was confusion.
This was the first time he was hearing about a human regaining their memories after becoming a monster, if he heard it from someone else he wouldn’t believe it, but after seeing the writing on the walls he was skeptical.
He stopped moving, getting to the dungeon boss didn’t matter anymore. After reading it he had a lot more pressing issues to attend to.
The writer stated that it was on the day that it regained consciousness that the log started, even though it was on the fifth day the cavern was created.
They also said that they became a rank 1 monster they had killed on the battlefield, this cleared up all the doubts about whether it was a monster or not.
A monster stuck in a dungeon couldn’t know about the battlefield.
And then the final piece, the system.
The Talent System mostly ignored him whenever he asked questions, unless the questions were important, it was warning him or suggesting to him the system would remain silent.
He hadn’t even asked the system to work as a translator, but it just did.
That meant that the text he had just read was important.
"The former awakened’s mana was powerful enough to form the cavern." With that knowledge Jason had an inkling of what the stones in the wall were.
"Crystallized mana."
Mana that had taken a solid form after existing as an energy for sometime.
He paused to think.
"All the other monsters outside the cavern after the former human entered it."
Jason could not understand that, there wasn’t anything like teleportation magic yet, moving such a huge amount of living things was impossible without trapping all of them and transporting them.
The person that wrote the writings on the wall was strange.
"And they also found out the monster lord was a He."
He already knew that, any avid reader of the series already had that small piece of information.
But day 10 was the most unsettling.
"The monster lord came to seal them."
The Monster Lord was the strongest monster, the being put in charge of all the humans who came to hell.
He was capable of bending anyone to his will once he had a good amount of influence on them, even being able to turn them into monsters without the need to take them to hell.
The human in question was able to break free from his will, this made the monster lord send a fragment of himself into the rank 4 dungeon, apparently one that held rank 3 strength and sealed them.
"It goes to the extent that they want to kick his balls."
Jason was left with a lot of questions, even more so than when he realized that the left and middle paths were loops.
He wasn’t angry about it anymore, this piece of information could turn out to be important to him; the system had translated the message for him to understand.
He continued moving forward.
But even as he walked he couldn’t take his mind off it, that was something he had never heard happening in the novel and his interest was piqued.
The blue stones emitting the light didn’t decrease in their intensity or increase, it stayed just right.
Even while his mind was occupied he still made sure to check the wall, the writing on the wall would be an obvious giveaway if he was in a loop.
Thankfully, it didn’t appear.
Throughout Jason didn’t encounter any monster, he expected to have already faced some spiders since embarking on this path. So far he hadn’t seen a single one.
"Could it be that there are no monsters when I go through the right way?"
It seemed plausible.
The lighting in the cave didn’t increase or decrease and he saw writings on the wall, these were indications that he was on the right way.
He walked for thirty minutes, the only thing keeping him company were his thoughts as he mused.
"Grrr." He heard a low growl.
Even though he heard it he couldn’t see the cause of the growl.
"Sounds like a wolf."
Maybe it was one of the other types of monsters that were transported into the cave, he had already gotten tired of seeing the spiders anyway.
The growls continued sounding through the cavern, despite its noises it didn’t seem to come closer to him.
"Like its trying to scare me off."
Did the monster think that would be enough to stop him?
To Jason’s relief, he found the end of the path.
There was an obvious gaping hole in the wall, after passing through there he would finally arrive at his destination.
But there was a problem.
The monster that had been growling.
It turned out that there were two monsters.
A wolf with black fur and two horns protruding from its head, the other wolf had dark red fur all over its body and bright red eyes that shone with a dangerous glint.
"Is the first one a Black Horned wolf?" Jason wondered.
When Zane claimed to have killed all the Black Horned wolves and the Jade fanged wolves he just accepted it, he had no idea how any of them looked like.
"And the other one, Jade fanged wolves?"
The first one matched the looked like a black wolf with horns, but the other one didn’t have a fang that resembled Jade.
"Whatever." Jason muttered, refocusing on the two predators in front of him. "I can still take them out easily."
The wolves moved in sync, they circled around him in a coordinated fashion.
The red one jumped at him first, baring its fangs down as it prepared to sink them into Jason’s flesh.
Jason quickly reacted by cutting off the creature’s snout.
The monster lost all momentum and fell onto the ground.
It whimpered on the ground.
"Aaawwwuuuuu!!" He heard the black wolf.
His eardrums were assaulted by the noise, in the narrow tunnels of the cave the noise couldn’t leave easily, they would have to bounce off the walls.
But it didn’t affect Jason much, in an instant he kicked the black wolf on the head, the force behind the kick sent the wolf crashing into the walls of the cave.
Jason felt a stinging pain in his back, the other wolf had used the opportunity to scratch him.
The red wolf glared at him hatefully, its body had just been disjointed from its snout.
"Awwwuuuuuuu!!" The red wolf howled.
The intensity of the noise was much more intense than that of the black wolf, however, it still wasn’t much of a problem to Jason.
He swung his sword again.
Blood sprayed out of the neck of the red wolf, drenching Jason entirely.
The crimson liquid stained his clothing, but it had already been stained by goblin and hobgoblin blood. Adding wolf blood to the equation wouldn’t change a thing.
The Black Horned Wolf rushed at him, using the element of surprise, it stabbed its fangs into the back of the human.
Jason frowned.
He dropped the katana onto the ground, the weapon clanging as it came in contact with the rocky surface.
He put his hand behind his back and onto the wolf’s head as if caressing its head.
The next moment, blood spurted out from a headless Black Horned wolf.
