Chapter 50: Day 2

...

[Item: Simple Invisibility Potion

Cost: 200

Description: A normal, simple invisibility potion that masks the user and his/her aura and prevents detection from any source.

Duration: 15 minutes]

Jason looked longingly at the item in the system shop, while this wasn’t the only one, it was one that he had grown up with.

Since the tender age of 10 when he used it to sneak and meet Zane, the simple invisiblity potion had been his best friend, and he had racked up quite a debt with the system, so big a debt that he had met the limit.

600 P.

In order to get this miraculous item again he needed to acquire more talents.

His first thought after his talk with Zane was to hunt for the Black horned and Jade fanged wolves, but he remembered that Zane claimed to had killed every single one of the monsters.

But then again, if he got to them which skill would be acquire?

Scratch?

Jason sighed.

The place was gradually getting illuminated, it golden light was spewed over the beach and warmed the sand.

He retrieved his clothes as the rhythmic lapping of waves sounded in his ear. He was the only one left here, the others had gone before the dungeon even gained any light.

That was because they were running low on hearts, some of which hadn’t even gathered the seven heart for the clan trial.

He started with his pants, from blue the color had changed to a symphony of blue and red, courtesy of the bloodshed he had committed himself to.

Then he wore his shirt, unlike his pants it was completely died in red, the former color had been replaced by crimson red.

Then his jacket.

Jason finished the look by summoning the three-sectioned staff, he gripped the red weapon tightly.

’I’ve recovered fully from the fight with the spider.’ Jason thought.

After a good night’s sleep the wounds he had acquired were gone.

He had a healing factor, though it wasn’t enough to heal with arm it was still enough.

’Stop thinking about other things, I have to find the other sub-boss.’ Jason wanted to slap himself on his cheek to try to regain focus but he could not.

"I truly miss my right arm."

With those thoughts he set off again.

In another random direction!

Today, his plan was to map out the whole dungeon and find the most probable place where the boss would be before "politely" knocking on the door.

He stepped into the bushes, the familiar feeling of the greenery brushing against his skin came.

After the beach by the dungeon there was only bushes and trees, trees that seemed to stretch out in all directions.

However even after walking for two hours straight he did not encounter any monster, he didn’t even found anything that bore any resemblance to a cavern.

He stopped to rest next to a tree.

"I’m really unlucky, was it just by coincidence that I found the hobgoblins?" Jason wondered.

He had just walked in a random direction he picked out and found the hobgoblins, then he killed every single last one of them.

"I’m thirsty."

The only water that had been found was the one by the beach. Beach water was salty.

And even if it wasn’t salty, Jason would have to check if all his screws were in the right place before he attempted to drink something so close to goblins.

He even believed that some had swam inside the water.

A man had his standards, and these were Jason’s.

"I might find some if I keep going forward." Jason said to encourage himself.

He continued down the bushes, making a few occasional stops to question himself if he was going the right way, before reluctantly continuing anyway.

After two more hours he eventually stumbled upon something, but it wasn’t what he expected.

"Goblin homes?" Jason questioned.

When he had killed the goblins he didn’t stop to think if the creatures actually had any sort of intelligence.

Goblins lacked intelligence so he thought they would be living on the bare ground.

Jason put the three-sectioned-staff back in his space ring, he hadn’t used it and it only stopped him from holding anything else.

"I hope I can find something useful... But, considering how shabby these houses are, I think it might fall below my expectations."

Some houses were rectangular, some were square shaped, and others were of varying shapes.

There was even a triangle shaped house!

But there was a common singularity to all of them, they were made entirely of mud.

This small fact made Jason lose all hope of striking a treasure, there surely weren’t any treasures made of mud.

But he still wanted to check, so if by some miracle somebody else got something from this place he wouldn’t berate himself for judging the houses by their looks.

The first house contained nothing at all.

"Nothing but mud." Jason complained.

Mud bed, mud chairs, mud tables, mud rooms.

The only things that were not mud were the occasional clothing scattered on the furniture and the rusted knife he found on the floor while entering.

"Onto the next."

Jason spent his remaining time searching through each and every one of the houses, he left the biggest and most "luxurious" looking house.

He supposed it was the goblin leader’s house.

He tapped on the mud door, the mud breaking on impact then scattering on the ground. Jason walked past it.

He continued to inspect every room, it seemed like just any other house but with more rooms.

"The best for last." Jason said.

After he finished checking each and every room the only one that remained was the bedroom.

Jason entered it.

Unlike the other houses he saw various writings on the wall.

Each and every corner was inscribed with strange words of texts that he didn’t understand.

"What the hell?" Jason said in confusion.

His first thought was that these words were most likely the visualization techniques the goblin leader used when casting magic.

Visualization techniques were inscriptions that encoded the thought process required to use magic.

But creating it was frowned upon by society.

If someone created a visualization technique for a fireball, it didn’t mean that everyone was unable to use fireball.

As long as you could visualize the kind of magic that you wanted to do, you would be able to do it.

Even understanding the elements that one wanted to use was optional, if he/she felt lazy they could just form it, but it would use more mana.

"If these are really visualization techniques does that mean that this one is for summoning magic?"

Summoning magic didn’t fall under any element, and it required the sacrifice of a human life to use.

Unlike the elements they couldn’t be done without prior understanding.

"If I copy this and sell it later on, I’ll be able to make quite an amount."

Jason discarded the thought.

If he copied it down, he would surely be found out when he left the dungeon.

And then things would spiral down in ways he couldn’t control.

"What should I do with it then?" Jason pondered.

He suddenly had an idea.
