Chapter 41: Goblin Massacre (3)

With cautious steps Jason moved deeper into the bushes, the greenery brushed against his skin as he got closer to the hobgoblin’s.

From where he was he could hear barbaric cheers, he assumed that like the goblins before them, they were celebrating.

Jason heard the ramblings, it sounded like pure gibberish so he just assumed that it was the goblins’ language.

He gripped the hilt of his katana tightly, the goblins were unable to satisfy him so he hoped that the hobgoblins would prove much more of a challenge.

Suddenly the laughter stopped, the noise that the monsters were making stopped abruptly.

’Do they know I’m here?’ Jason questioned himself.

The answer came to him immediately, it was as if his mind was already prepped for this.

’I actively repel mana! That means that creatures that can sense mana in the environment know when I come...’

He had tried his best in sneaking, trying to make sure that he could successfully launch a sneak attack.

He turned to the direction of the monsters.

Hobgoblins were the evolved forms of goblins meaning that they underwent a change in their body physiology; normal goblins were small, skinny and were disgusting, hobgoblins were the exact opposite.

The shortest of their species being at 6’5, they were extremely bulky and had more muscle than professional body builders and seemed more human-like than their pre-evolved forms.

’Okay.’ Jason resigned to his faith.

Each eye stared at him with maliciousness, if looks could kill he would have already died over 20 times already.

But there was a single one, a hobgoblin that had a face that had been aged by time.

As soon as they noticed him they immediately went to guard the monster.

The others had faces that looked like they had unknowingly eaten shit and then suddenly realized after the job was done, that was the only way to describe it.

He walked into the open, surrounded by nothing but trees and monsters.

"Surprise?" He joked.

"Ni Sne Ti Ket Ongar." One of them spat.

"The hell?" He did not understand a single word but felt like they were mocking him.

He raised his middle finger tauntingly before using it to motion for them to come at him.

Even though they had their memories erased, and no longer knew that they were actually humans a long time ago, some things were ingrained deeply into their soul; like raising the middle finger.

"RAAARH!" The one who spoke earlier was enraged and prepared to charge at him.

"Slot Qi Ne Mosr." The one next to him advised.

The hobgoblin responded by pointing its finger enraged at Jason and shouting.

"Is this a family drama? If you want to come at me bring your ass over here!"

The monsters could not understand what he meant but they could see in his expression that he was pissed.

The first monster stopped arguing.

Its muscles tensed up, eye sockets bulged and veins popped out of his forehead.

" A skill." Jason said knowingly. "It’s making the monster stronger... I guess."

It was evident that the monster was powering up using a skill, a very basic one. The power the monster had before and now barely increased.

The fact that it even had a strengthening skill was profound in its own sense, but there were much better ones.

The hobgoblin gazed at him condescendingly.

"Jit no gu, smash!" The monster declared before lunging towards him.

Jason smiled.

He raised the weapon to block as the hobgoblin’s large fist came smashing down.

"Is that all you got?" He taunted.

The monster muttered more incoherent words before continuing with its assault.

It threw another fist forward but Jason simply dodged.

Their fight continued with Jason dodging while the monster simply continued throwing its fists with reckless abandon.

He wasn’t an expert with his left arm, it was just that the monsters weren’t enough for his stimulation. Something that would push him past his limits and make him actually miss his expertise with his right hand.

"I’m bored." Jason muttered.

He ducked as a fist sailed over his head, he shifted his body before stabbing into the hobgoblin’s guts.

The monster groaned in pain, it grasped both hands in the air and slammed down at Jason.

In an instant Jason retracted the blade from the monster’s guts and moved back.

Blood sprayed out of the wound he had created.

He barely dodged the attack as he was just a split-second faster.

"It seems like you don’t value your hands."

The one-armed swordsman swung his katana, the weapon easily cut through the hobgoblin’s hands.

The crimson-red liquid oozed out of the stumps, it screamed in pain and began stumbling backwards.

Jason kicked the monster squarely in the stomach before slashing.

A sweeping cut at his opponent.

Hobgoblin was easily cut through, like a hot knife through butter.

But it wasn’t dead.

The upper body slid off the lower body and fell onto the ground with a thud.

The monster continued groaning none-the-less, cursing in between its cries of pain.

But its pain was short-lived, there was a saying that in our time of pain God always came to help us and alleviate the pain.

Jason cut its neck off, splitting the monster into three parts; head, upper body, lower body.

The surrounding monsters looked in shock at the human as he dropped his weapon and went to the upper body of the hobgoblin, he ripped open their kin and began searching for something.

"A heart." Jason stored it in his space ring.

He felt a pain in his back, as if an ant had just bitten him, the only difference was that the pain had a much wider area than an ant bite.

He turned backwards and saw another hobgoblin, it had a look of pure madness in its eyes as it stared Jason down.

Its metacarpals and phalanges were broken.

This was to be expected as Jason had a physical stat of stage 4 late and he had the benefit of nature energy.

Even though he trained everyday he never gained the muscle density that professional bodybuilders got because his bones got refined. They did not increase in size but in quality.

Nevertheless Jason returned the favor, he turned his body towards the hobgoblin before throwing his fist.

The poor monster tried to block.

Jason’s fist came in contact with the monster but nothing happened, he picked his sword up and moved backwards.

In the direction of the hobgoblins.

The hobgoblin was confused at first, its confusion shown on its face before it was replaced with its earlier madness.

"So lik Tar’!" It yelled. "Mog T-"

*Bang

The accumulated pressure spread out in its entire upper body before being released all at once, the result was akin to a balloon poping.

The crimson red liquid spread out in al a gruesome spray as it was blown off, innards going off in all directions like confetti and being splattered on the trees.

Unfortunately the blood still got splattered on him, though it was only droplets that got on his clothes.

"My hands are covered in blood, literally and figuratively." His hands were soaked in blood from continuously opening monsters to get their hearts.

"Who’s next?" Jason asked with a mocking smile on his face.
