Chapter 158: It

"Izanagi Flourn..."

Jason murmured the name silently.

He had never heard the name before, but it was a unique name.

"Since I’ve told you my name, would you mind to tell me yours?"

He questioned as he returned his hands to his side.

"Hachiman."

The man’s expression was unreadable, a mix of blandness and nonchalance.

"Your full name?"

"Jason Hachiman."

His expression didn’t change as he stared through Jason.

"Is that so?"

He questioned, but his tone remained the same.

"Since you’re the Unknown Darkness, you must also know that other Hachiman right?"

Jason knew who he was talking about.

"I’ve forgotten his name."

Expressionlessly, the man got up and left the room, the door clicking behind him.

’Where the hell is he going?’

Jason couldn’t trust the young man from the start, but after hearing his name he was a little more cautious.

He was member of the Izanagi clan after all, and from the way he behaved it was clear that he wasn’t an ordinary member too.

There was one thing that he would never forget, even if he didn’t have near-perfect memory he couldn’t forget about it.

’I can’t stay here for too long, Izanagi’s are dangerous."

That was something he could never forget.

Izanagi’s no matter if they were from the main family or even ordinary clan awakening members, though the former were more dangerous than the latter.

It was because of their clan ability.

"Izanagi".

If anything, that was the technique he so desperately needed in his possession. The only problem was the mastery of it, he doubted he would be able to copy it from regular clan members.

’What the hell was I thinking, I should have checked his stats before assuming anything?!’

He chided himself internally.

It was a stupid move, to think that checking his stats had slipped his mind at a crucial moment.

’And, I even forgot to check the identity of that person who welcomed me.’

’Has the life of a rogue really gotten to me?’

As a rogue his instincts could be relied on to tell when someone was lying or not, as well as their body posture and tone.

Jason had met a lot of people like that, his eyes had just happened to pay attention to these things.

He waited for him to come back.

As soon as the door clicked open.

[Name: Flourn Izanagi

Age: 18

Physical – Early Stage 5

Mental – Late Stage 5

Mana – Mid Stage 5

Skills: Izanagi]

’He’s quite strong, and talented too.’

Jason commented to himself as he checked the young man’s stats.

Unfortunately he was not as talented as Asahi whom was two years younger than him, neither was he more talented than Kira, but still that was something.

In Jason’s view Asahi was a walking cheat since he had actually come in contact with a god, and Kira walked around with such a powerhouse that it was only natural that he was that strong.

But in serious terms, Flourn was a little weaker than Jason considering his mana stat was that high.

’First 18 year old awakeneds in his time it was almost impossible, that was because most rank 0’s mostly reached the rank at 30 years.

Yet he was seeing rank 0’s before even twenty years old.

"This book."

Flourn said emotionless as he returned to his chair.

"And this page."

He pointed.

Jason could recognize the person he was talking about, he even knew who the person was before seeing this.

Kira Hachiman.

’Why is he interested in him, does he want the additional help?’

Jason nodded his head.

"What was his name again, Kiba? Kyan? Kora?

Something among the lines of the first one."

’How does he know his name?’

Jason wondered.

He didn’t let his surprise show on his face, for the first time he caught it before it came out.

"Why are you asking?"

The man was unfazed by his question.

"Satisfying my curiosity, nothing more, nothing less."

"Is that so?"

The young man was seemingly honest, but it was hard to tell given his bland persona.

"There’s no need to continue this conversation, its going no where.

Do you know what a minor breakout is?"

He questioned.

Jason nodded.

A minor breakout was just a distraction, but this one would alert the awakeners in the settlement about it and give them enough time to kidnap the guard and open the veil before they realize what happened.

A minor breakout could be easy or hard to pull off depending on the strength of the settlement.

"Then you do know what you’re going to do?"

"What makes you think I’m going to do this?"

The corner of the young man’s lips didn’t twitch slightly, he remained as expressionless as ever.

"Because if you don’t we will end up fighting, and our fight will alert the CA who will come to deal with two rank 0 clan members."

The man stated factly, his tone not wavering in the slightest.

’Why do I feel like he already planned this?’

There was no way he could recklessly decided to fight a rank 0 awakened, that too an Izanagi.

It would only be a fruitless effort.

"So you planned this?"

He asked with a slight smile.

"More or less."

Was the reply he got.

"Do you know the Izanagi’s clan special technique?"

The man suddenly questioned.

"Of course."

"What is it?"

"Izanagi."

"So you know?"

The man took a deep breath, as if bracing himself for the words that were about to come out of his mouth, but despite that his expression remained unchanging.

"The Izanagi is a technique of the Izanagi clan, it simply allows the user to create a new body of themselves, allowing them to manipulate their soul to reconstruct their body."

"Per say,"

He continued.

"Per say, we fight and you manage to win me, even if you destroy my body, I can always construct a new one.

And with that new body, I’ll be able to evade the half a dozen rank 0s that will bust into here, you on the other hand..."

It was a threat, and a very effective threat.

He not only revealed the number of rank 0 awakeneds in the settlement to scare him, but also made it clear that he would be the only one caught.

However...

’Half a dozen, that’s six.’

Jason thought.

’I can’t half a dozen awakeneds by myself...

But, considering that they shouldn’t be as strong as that rank 0 monster, neither should they be too strong as rank 0s since it gets harder, and Kira and Asahi are strong as rank 0.’

’In short, dealing with only six shouldn’t be too hard.’

But then a problem arose, if they dealt with the six, the future of the civilians would be grave.

And, they would end up becoming mortal enemies of them, before their captured and made to be slaves for other clans, either that or they’ll end up dead.

It was much less stressful to deal with a settlement leader at rank 1 or rank 2, than deal with the future of the civilians.

"Alright."

Jason said.

"You have a deal, on one condition."

The man remained expressionless.

"What is that?"

"I will tell you after the minor breakout is successful."

Jason’s demand wasn’t an ordinary one...

"I would prefer if you told me beforehand, otherwise you can’t be trusted."

...It was so weird that it couldn’t be revealed.

’Hell. I can’t tell him that I want to touch him for a minute.’

That was Jason’s predicament.

He wanted to copy Izanagi, but he doubted if he could just walk up to Flourn and hold him, and he couldn’t put him in the null and then touch him because even if Jason killed him after that he could always reconstruct his body.

The troubles of facing an Izanagi were so much that it would be best if they weren’t fought at all. They were blessed by the god of creation afterall.

Though, there were a few ways to kill an Izanagi clan member.

The ordinary one could be killed three times and on the third time he would die, that is because it required 50% of their full mana for ordinary clan members.

Even for most of the elders.

Then, a member of the main family of the Izanagi clan could be killed on the sixth try as it required 20% for them to create a new body.

’I have to say, the person or monster that killed the Izanagi clan head deserves a reward.’

"I want to have a spar with you once we leave."

Jason answered.

A spar was certainly the best words he could use.

"Is that all?"

Even at Jason’s words his expression nor tone changed in the slightest.

"Yes."

"If that’s all, you have a deal."

He extended his hand again, and Jason shook them firmly.

’He’s too sharp, if I told him that I wanted to touch him for sixty seconds he would have been able to deduce something.’

"I will contact you when its time to take action."

Jason wanted to ask how, but he chose not to.

"I have a question for you, if you don’t mind."

"I don’t."

"Do you hate him?"

"Hate who?"

He questioned.

"Hate that Hachiman, Kira...?"

The young man didn’t ponder on the question, his reply came out easily.

"If you knew what he did, you might hate him... But, for me, I do not blame him for what he did. If I was in his shoes I would have done the same thing, but I would have done a lot sure to make sure this body stayed dead."

"If that’s all, you can leave now. You will be contacted soon."
