Talent System: I Instantly Master My Opponents Skills -
Chapter 133: Monkey (3)
Chapter 133: Monkey (3)
Jason moved with his clones on the ground, they moved with him in the lead.
"That’s the plan."
He explained to them as they ran.
He had told his Terrible Clones the plan, now it was up to three of them to carry it out.
His only regret was that his mastery of the technique was copied to Ezra done to the bone, he could not create the additional clone.
The clones behind him exchanged disgusted looks, as they wholeheartedly disagreed with the plan Jason had thought up.
"Do you think I want to do it?! I just have no choice."
If his clones could, they would have outright disagreed. That was because of Asahi.
But they could not argue with their creator.
The three of them leaped out of the foliage and into the heart of the battlefield.
’I told them but they didn’t listen.’
Jason thought as he looked at Asahi and Kira’s situation.
Asahi was fending himself, and the same could be said for Kira.
Both of them were sending out a controlled wave of electricity at the Frost Maggots, frying any maggots that entered their range.
However, the maggots didn’t seem very interested in them.
They were rather focused on the human in their midst.
’They’re only burning through their mana.’
The monsters were maintaining distance from them, moving smartly. With a wisdom that was supposed to elude their kind.
’It must be the largest maggot.’
He thought as he and his clones split up.
Even though they were reluctant about going along with his plan, in the end they had no choice but to do it.
Jason ran towards Kira, whom was covered in blue blood.
"Stop."
He said quickly.
Shock was etched on his features as in the presence of Jason, his electric charge fizzled out until it was barely there.
"Stop you’re lightning for a moment, I want to try something."
With those words, he was gone.
He arrived shortly after a good distance away from a tree.
His clones went over to Asahi to tell him to stop his attacks.
The boy in front of two Jason’s begrudgingly stopped, choosing to trust in his plan. He had already doubted him before and because of that he had been injured.
’They’re all in position.’
Jason thought, his eyes scanning the battlefield.
The Frost Maggots didn’t bother coming at them, choosing to stay away.
And Asahi and Kira also stopped, watching him intently.
’Quick Evasive Steps.’
He ran in an explosive sprint, going in a straight line.
’Its the start-up that counts.’
He mused as he jumped.
A mini crater formed around him as he leaped, signifying the amount of strength he had put in his legs before jumping.
He reached the first tree, pushing off the trunk with his feet and sending him towards the next tree.
His body arched gracefully as he pushed off the next tree.
His clones followed suit, imitating his movements, pushing themselves off trees and launching them towards the next ones.
They moved in sync, never landing on the same tree.
’I hate this.’
Jason thought in unison with his clones, propelling himself forward with another tree.
The air whooshed by him as he moved, his speed even surpassing that of when he used Quick Evasive Steps.
With every leap, he moved even faster.
He brandished his blade – the dagger that had been given to him as a gift – and gripped the handle tightly, feeling the handle as he propelled himself forward with another tree, the wind whipped through his air.
"What is he doing?"
Kira asked to no one in particular.
Even with his eyes he couldn’t keep track of Jason, to him, the person was on all the trees at the same time.
Everywhere at once.
A brown blur moving everyone on the trees at once.
’Now.’
Jason thought.
’Breathing Technique.’
He began by controlling his breathing, even as he moved at this speed.
’30 Blade Movements.’
He pushed himself off the trunk of another tree and launched himself into the midst of the monsters.
His muscles enlarged.
He was too fast, his dagger tearing through all the maggots that came contact with it. He didn’t even have to aim, they were packed so tightly together that he didn’t even move it.
Jason was fast, too quick for the maggots, before they could bite him he was already out of range.
"10."
He muttered to himself as he burst out of them.
"But I didn’t find him and I couldn’t reach it."
He landed on an adjacent tree, and without losing any momentum he pushed himself back.
Jason’s clones imitated everything he did to the bone, even using the breathing technique and 30 blade movements as well.
If he continued like this, he would be able to cut off a significant portion of them and locate Sean.
However, the monsters didn’t seem to agree with his line of reasoning.
The buzzing intensified as they split into three groups, each one flying randomly.
They launched themselves simultaneously back into the midst of the monsters, the dagger dyed with the blue blood of the maggots as they burst out of them.
"10."
He murmured to himself as he landed on the trunk of the next tree before propelling himself into their midst again.
The dagger cut through the maggots, clearing a way for him as he soared through the air in the direction of the largest maggot.
"I’ve got you."
He murmured.
The largest and strongest of the Frost Maggots was sucking on Sean, draining his body of both mana and nutrients.
He could kill it now.
The largest Frost Maggots seemed to notice his arrival and moved away.
The maggots that were on their own actively began coming in his way, slowing him down ever so slightly so the largest of them all could come out alive.
The dagger didn’t miss entirely, but he only managed to leave a slight cut on its body.
The damage was accompanied by a squelching sound.
"20."
He let out a deep breath as he pushed himself into the air again, locking his sights on the maggots.
They were changing their formation, trying to hide the largest of them away from the person who had discovered it.
However...
"They’re too slow."
His speed exceeded theirs by leaps and bounds, even though they could actively move airborne.
He and his clones still had 27 more leaps to go.
He shot himself high again.
"19."
He was bathed in their blood by now, the blue viscous liquid clinging to his steel, skin and clothes.
His leaps weren’t accurate enough, he couldn’t control the exact place he was leaping to. And while jumping he had to make sure a tree was also in his sights.
The boss maggot wasn’t in the right position to hit.
In just three jumps, he had managed to kill 70 Frost Maggots and that wasn’t counting the amount his clones had managed to kill.
"8."
"10."
"17."
"25."
"4."
"19."
The only thing Kira and Asahi could see was a brown blur weaving through the sky and with every leap he made, Frost Maggots came crashing into the ground.
With every leap, he counted the amount of maggots he killed.
The amount he reached soon surpassed two hundred with his constant leaps, his clones quickly followed behind him.
Their movements were synchronized, along with their kills.
Frost Maggots rained down from the sky, accompanied by the blue blood spilling from their split bodies.
He was easily killing the monsters that were supposed to be a threat with his acrobatic movements and his cloning technique.
Asahi and Kira couldn’t believe it.
’This is my 27th leap.’
He had to make this one count, even if he didn’t managed to kill any of the maggots.
He threw his dagger to his left hand, watching the fleeing figure of the largest maggot.
Lucky for it, it wasn’t his target now.
He threw himself into the horde of Frost Maggots, his right hand extended.
He grabbed Sean by the collar.
The boy, after being bitten by several maggots before being taken to the bigger one, had lost all of the flesh on him.
He was literally a pile of bones, one that had dead eyes.
Jason pulled the boy out.
He landed on the trunk of an adjacent tree.
Sean’s collar slipped from his hand.
Without losing his momentum he threw himself forward.
’Now, I’m coming.’
He and his clones converged at a single spot.
Jason wouldn’t fail, even if his weapon was with his left hand.
’Blade Strike.’
He poised the dagger, its tip gleaming ominously in the light.
It struck home...
Three times.
All from him different sides and angles.
From the two clones and one from him.
Squelching.
They all descended simultaneously, the creature that was supposed to be flying now dead, having been struck from all sides.
But Jason’s focus wasn’t on it, and not on the maggots that lost their leader and also their sense of rationality.
’Why is it glowing?’
The Frost Maggot was glowing in a dazzling purple display of light.
*Boom
It exploded, destroying both of Jason’s clones instantly.
In that brief moment where his body was sent flying, he lost control of his breathing.
A sharp pain in his chest.
He couldn’t breathe.
The pain spread throughout the body as he hit the trunk of a tree, his body slowly falling downward.
A thought came into his head, making his expression morph into something worse.
’Damn monkey.’
To himself and his clones, his actions reminded him of a monkey.
