Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon’s Might -
Chapter 475 - 467: I Only Want One Thing
Chapter 475: Chapter 467: I Only Want One Thing
If the Storm God had come out to mediate right after the battle ended, Leon, who was still fuming, would have flatly refused and might even have held a grudge against the Storm God.
Leon’s temper wasn’t great, but by now he had long since calmed down, at least not to the point of losing his mind... Mainly because he was the winner, having just refined the Saint Avatar of the Ocean Goddess and concocted a batch of Golden Cores, consuming them all could significantly boost his power, or he could share them to cultivate a group of powerful allies with Divine qualities.
Besides, while waging war can provide momentary satisfaction and clarity of thought, considering the future, one must also think about the consequences.
He could defeat the Ocean Goddess on the Material Plane but had no means to reach her Divine Country to eliminate her. Since he couldn’t eliminate the root of the problem, wouldn’t it be better to resolve enmity rather than create it?
There was no deep-seated hatred between them, and eliminating her faith presence on the Material Plane for such a trivial matter — even assuming he could do it — would undoubtedly make other gods wary... He currently wasn’t capable of facing multiple god-level opponents simultaneously.
Ultimately, what good would come from a costly battle to kill the Ocean Goddess when compared to her bowing her head and making amends?
Thinking of this, Leon stared at the Storm God and said, "Can you represent her?"
The Storm God couldn’t help but smile slightly at Leon’s words and said, "If you’re willing, Mr. Leon, I can have her meet you now."
Leon thought for a moment, realizing he wasn’t prepared yet, and said, "One week later, at the Ocean Goddess Temple in Watchtower Port, I’ll wait for her."
"Okay." The Storm God nodded slightly, giving Leon a meaningful look before leaving, "Mr. Leon, as one of us, I hope you maintain your composure."
With that, the Storm God transformed into a bolt of lightning and disappeared into the sky.
Leon gazed at the place where the Storm God vanished, contemplating his last words, feeling it was a reminder not to bully the weak. Otherwise, given his full force, he could dismantle most of the Ocean Goddess’s temples left in the Talia Alliance within a week, with only a few slipping through.
Although Leon found it inconvenient to act personally, it didn’t stop him from using Thousand-Mile Sound Transmission to notify Fiora, who served as the chief commander on the front lines, to create as much success as possible and gain an advantage for the upcoming negotiations.
The time flew by, and a week passed in the blink of an eye. The Storm God and Ocean Goddess arrived as promised, while Leon was fashionably late.
"You can talk now." The Storm God merely connected the bridge.
"Finally willing to show your face." Leon mocked, "I thought you’d hide in your Divine Country like a turtle."
The corner of the Ocean Goddess’s eye twitched.
"The recent progress must be unsatisfactory. Otherwise, why such a temper?" The Ocean Goddess had been watching her temples in the Talia Alliance. Indeed, the Red Dragon’s subordinates were strong and fierce, but her church’s accumulated power over the years would only be stronger. "Do you think with that rabble under your command, you can shake the foundation of my church?"
Leon had urged Fiora to create success as much as possible, but some things couldn’t be forced. He said, "That’s because I haven’t acted yet."
"Do you think if you act, I’d just watch from the sidelines?" The Ocean Goddess stared at the sea outside the temple.
"Defeated opponent, you’d best remember who was the one pressed down last time." Leon sized up the Ocean Goddess, who today looked like an ordinary priest of the Ocean Goddess. "What? Can’t accept it? How about we go again if you’re so unwilling?"
"You don’t think I came to find you today because I’m afraid, do you? I just don’t want to see mutual destruction." The Ocean Goddess frowned, "As someone with experience, I’ll give you a piece of advice that might save your life one day—don’t be too headstrong when you’re young."
"What’s a young person if not headstrong?" Leon said amusingly, thinking he’d lived so long yet was still considered young.
The Storm God looked at the sky and suddenly said, "It’s going to rain soon."
"Anyway, I don’t need faith, I don’t need followers, I have no church to maintain." Leon felt unburdened, "You can fight for as long as you want, I’ll fight alongside you until complete victory."
"I must remind you, you have a kingdom." The Ocean Goddess gestured toward the sea, and the sea immediately responded by rising in great waves. "With a simple wave of my hand, I can unleash a tsunami to engulf all of Watchtower Port."
"I don’t care, not in the slightest." Leon spoke calmly, waving at the sea to part it, revealing... underwater trash, "You might not know, but the entire Zhen Dan Kingdom is my toy. If you destroy it, I just gain my freedom."
"Your spouse, your daughter." The Ocean Goddess threatened, "They’re not as strong as you."
Leon indeed cared about his spouse and daughter, but it didn’t stop him from smiling, "I am a Red Dragon."
What is a Red Dragon?
Arrogant and tyrannical, the Red Dragon is the tyrant of the Dragon Clan. Even by giant dragon standards, their vanity is extreme—their lust for power and wealth is only rivaled by their hunger for violence.
The Red Dragon represents the pinnacle of evil and corruption among the Colorful Dragons, endlessly greedy and arrogant, their destructive force knows no bounds. They don’t seek rulership but crave worship, convinced their existence deserves absolute reverence.
When self-conceit is their creed, family ties naturally fracture. Red Dragons carefully guard Dragon Eggs, but view their nurturing duty as complete once the baby dragons hatch. This approach to upbringing results in siblings at most greeting each other with indifference, or at worst, brothers fighting against each other.
If that’s how they treat kin, relations with other dragons are even worse, seen as bullies and tyrants by both Metal and Colorful Dragons.
Leon had often been discriminated against for being a Red Dragon, but he could also exploit his identity as a Red Dragon.
Few thought of using his family or friends to threaten him, precisely because everyone knew a Red Dragon didn’t care about those things. Even though he always behaved as if he valued family and friends, people’s prejudices are as immovable as a mountain, no matter how hard you try.
"Based on your past behavior..." the Ocean Goddess asserted, "you value family and kin."
"Right, I value family and kin, my spouse and children, because they are mine, my possessions. If you dare lay a hand on them, I will certainly not let you off." Leon smiled slightly, "But I am always a Red Dragon."
The Ocean Goddess remained silent for a moment, her eyes shifting uncertainly, and said, "The things your people took from my church, I won’t pursue."
"Those are our spoils of war." Leon said, "You can’t take our spoils and give them back to me."
"I can ensure that ships flying your flag will sail freely across the sea." The Ocean Goddess continued.
"Unless you want to risk another war, you’d better not provoke me." Leon scoffed, "You think I’m a three-year-old child? You’re conjuring cards in thin air, creating chips out of nowhere."
The Ocean Goddess shrugged, "Then I can keep sea monsters away from the Flash Sea."
"Your church, your followers must also stay away from the Zhen Dan Kingdom and the Flash Sea." Leon said without allowing for disagreement.
"I can only promise you I won’t interfere or guide them." The Ocean Goddess clasped her hands behind her back.
Leon crossed his arms, drumming his fingers on his arm, "You are the goddess of the sea, marine life, and the unknown deep sea, as well as the realms of wind, navigation, and the unpredictable, among others... Can you really manage so many fields?"
Neither Gold Coins nor alchemy materials concerned Leon now; he needed something special.
"Navigation, I only want one navigation." Leon said. His pursuit was freedom with no need for the burden of faith, but he wished to cultivate Fiora into a goddess who controlled maritime transport, and once she found her footing, he might consider branching into other domains.
Leon came to an understanding; he lacked nothing now except to steadily increase his Mana, but he needed to consider those around him, for they were his strength.
