Chapter 52: Harem Harem Harem (2)
Chapter 52: Harem Harem Harem (2)
A sudden notification flashed in front of Mikey, displaying afront of the black game menu. Within the notification was a new image, accompanied by a name glowing in a bright orange text.
[Angela]
The name gleamed like a warning, signaling a normal difficulty mission.
Mikey’s eyes caught sihjt on yhe constituents and narrowed in disbelief. This wasn’t like the other notifications. You see, unlike the others, there was No sensual images, no half-naked women beckoning him—nothing like the typical scenes he was used to.
Instead, the image before him was that of a girl, Angela. She had long, soft pink hair that cascaded down her back, natural and gentle, unlike the fiery, seductive images that typically accompanied these notifications. Her eyes sparkled with warmth, and there was an innocence to her smile that Mikey couldn’t ignore.
She wore a simple white blouse, its long sleeves delicately fitting her slender arms, paired with a long pink gown that echoed the soft shade of her hair. She looked sweet, innocent almost, and his eyes could still see the sight of her shaoe and all.
A coat was casually draped over one arm, while the other held up a playful V-sign. Her eyes were bright, sparkling with a youthful energy, and her petite figure gave off an aura of elegance. Her curves were subtle, yet undeniable.
Mikey blinked a few times, his thoughts flashing rapidly.
’What the hell? Is this for real?’ He wondered, unable to hide the surprise that washed over him.
He wasn’t sure what to make of it. After all, for once, he was seeing a woman who looked decent, not dressed in anything scandalous. It was a new experience for him—one that threw him off balance. Hell, it’d throw any pervert like Mikey off.
He let out a small sigh as a single thought lingered in his mind.
’Bummer.’ He thought to himself, still trying to wrap his head around it.
But in truth, there was little room left for him to indulge in his swirling thoughts. The weight of confusion threatened to overwhelm him, but he dismissed it with a firm resolution, deciding that there was nothing to be gained by dwelling on it any longer. His mind shifted gears, focusing instead on the task at hand. With a deep breath, he turned his gaze toward the character’s description, feeling the need to gather more clarity from the details laid out before him.
[Description: Angela is a twenty-one year old, lively, independent woman. She spends most of her time reading through special stories and enjoys the company of others. She owns a small grocery store and has invited the player to attend a date.]
’ Hmm...that’s new.’
The description was simple, clear, and provided him with a bit more than what he was used to, which was a pleasant surprise.
Below the pending message was the objective section.
[Objective: Woo Angela.]
[Would player like to begin?]
[Yes][No]
’ Hmm...that sounds simple enough, right?’
Mikey smirked, the usual desire for something quick bubbling within him. But as he read through the description, a different thought began to form.
Angela wasn’t the kind of person to be easily swayed. She enjoyed the company of others, but whether she’d be receptive to his advances was an entirely different matter. He wondered if she’d be open to the idea, and if so, how far she might let things go on their first date.
A thought nagged at him—could she be a feminist, perhaps someone who’d resist his charms, standing her ground with an assertiveness that would challenge him? Or maybe, just maybe, she’d surprise him and be more submissive than he expected. The possibility of either outcome made him hesitate, leaving him to contemplate what kind of dynamic might unfold between them.
’Great.’ Mikey mused.
’ I guess this will be harder than I thought. But it’s not like I have a choice. A mission’s a mission, right?’
He tapped the screen, confirming he would accept the mission.
[ Yes]
The system chimed with a brief, almost imperceptible hum, and suddenly, the familiar darkness enveloped him. His vision blurred, and as a weight pressed down on him. It was disorienting, like a thousand moments stretched into one long, suffocating second. And yet, time seemed to pass differently. It felt like an eternity, yet no more than a heartbeat.
Then, in a soothing manner, came the sounds. Faint at first, but gradually growing louder—footsteps, the distant hum of music, and the murmur of voices. Conversations blended together in the background. Where was he? Where am I? His mind felt sluggish, struggling to make sense of his surroundings. Slowly, the world began to come into focus, like fog lifting from his thoughts.
His hearing sharpened, and with it, his vision. First, blurry, then clear. The soft hum of the crowd became louder. The noise of a busy street filled his ears and the smell of food and perfumes wafted in the air. His surroundings solidified. He was outside, in a bustling city, the kind of city that felt alive, vast, and full of energy.
The crescent moon hung high above, its soft, silvery light spilling gently across the busy street. It mingled with the warm glow of streetlights, creating a serene tapestry of light that bathed the scene in a peaceful, almost magical aura. The night felt alive, yet calm—offering a beautiful view that seemed to pause time itself.
"Are you okay?" A voice, gentle, yet firm, called out to Mikey. It pierced through the noise, snapping Mikey back to reality. He blinked rapidly, adjusting to the sudden clarity.
And there she was. Angela. Standing right at his side, her expression unreadable, and her eyes soft but searching. She looked just as she had in the image, and her accessories as well were the same, only now she was real—right in front of him. The bustling street around them seemed to fade, her presence commanding his attention.
Mikey’s heart skipped a beat, his eyes flicking up to meet hers. There she was, waiting.
’ Was she waiting for me to say something?’
His thoughts scrambled, his mouth opening and closing as he tried to gather himself.
"Um, I’m okay." he muttered, unsure of what else to say.
"Is there anything wrong?" His voice was low, hesitant. He cursed inwardly for sounding so uncertain, but Angela didn’t seem to mind.
She closed her eyes briefly, a soft smile curling at the edges of her lips as she gave him a knowing glance.
"No, there’s nothing wrong." she said, her voice warm but with an underlying sharpness.
"Just making sure you’re alright."
Mikey let out a slow breath.
’ Okay, cool. Cool. I’ve still got this.’
He wasn’t sure what he expected, but it wasn’t this. This woman wasn’t what he had imagined. There was a calmness about her, something steady and real. Was she for real?
The thought buzzed in his mind, but he quickly brushed it off as he cut through the brief silence with a joke.
"So...What if I said I wasn’t feeling up to it? Would you be taking care of dinner tonight instead?" He muttered with a soft chuckle.
She raised an eyebrow, her tone playful, but there was a challenge there too.
"Sure...why not..." She muttered.
There was a brief pause as Mikey stared at her, still somewhat confused.
’ Is she for real? Doesn’t she realize I was just kidding?’ The thought lingered in his mind, uncertainty clouding his judgment as he tried to make sense of her reaction.
"But if you’re really not okay you can say so, and I guess I’ll just have to take care of dinner tonight. Or I could take you home and cook for you."
Her words were playful, but Mikey felt a strange sense of disbelief. It might have just been a hunch but by taking only a glance at her, he was certain she was not kidding.
Is she serious? His mind raced, struggling to make sense of her. The idea of her cooking dinner for him felt so foreign, so... real, in a way that caught him off guard. It contrasted sharply with the women he was used to—those whose attention was often driven by something more fleeting, something focused on physical attraction rather than any genuine connection.
’Kudos to the author!’ He exclaimed as the thought hit him.
Angela was most definitely a bimbo most probably incapable of comprehending social skills like sarcasm. Which was certainly unexpected but very much good news for him. Because now, not only did that make the mission severely easy, but now, sex was most definitely back on the table....or so he thought....
