SSS Ranked Summoning: I'm An Extra With The Strongest Harem System -
Chapter 36: Traveler
Chapter 36: Traveler
Mikey paused for a moment, the weight of his thoughts pressing down on him like a lead blanket.
It wasn’t just about talking, or about theories and assumptions. If he wanted to change the course of events, he had to act.
But how was he supposed to alter a future he barely understood? And worse—how could he be sure that the chain of events unfolding before him wasn’t the same one that led to his grim fate?
A shiver ran down his spine.
A brief but haunting vision of his body convulsing under a surge of lethal voltage flickered through his mind, vanishing in an instant yet leaving a paralyzing chill racing down his spine.
’No.’
His throat tightened as he clenched his fists.
’Damn it...! Why can’t I come up with anything?! There has to be a way—there’s always a way!’
No matter how desperately he searched for an answer, his thoughts kept circling back to the words his future self had left him—a warning, sharp and unyielding, echoing through his mind like a ghost that refused to be silenced.
"...You should have never accepted the damn system, you dumb, fucking bitch."
Hmm
He let out a quiet grunt, his mind churning as he struggled to piece his thoughts together.
’What the hell did that even mean? Did everything start the moment I bought the system? If that was true, then wasn’t it all already set in motion?’
No. That couldn’t be it. This had to be some kind of rigged game—he should’ve at least gotten a warning, a clue about what was coming.
And yet, he was the one who had taken that step forward, the one who had walked this path. If he just made different choices... then he wouldn’t end up in that electric chair... right?
’...No, that’d be too easy...’
A fair point. Since he had already set the events in motion by accepting the offer, the least he could do was focus on avoiding the fate of becoming the serial killer he was destined to be... However, there was still a chance—however slim—that he hadn’t actually committed those crimes in the future.
Yes, there was a chance that—
’.I was framed? That would make more sense. If I had been set up, then it would explain how I supposedly became a serial murderer in less than two years...’
He bit his lower lip, his fingers twitching as if reaching for a missing puzzle piece.
’But still... there was a chance I actually did it. My older self seemed so accepting of his fate... could that have been guilt? Damn it, where the hell is deceptive reasoning when I need it?’
He flung himself onto the bed, his body thrumming with unease on landing. Minutes dragged by in silence, his thoughts circling like vultures over a fresh kill, while his gaze remained fixed on the slow, rhythmic spin of the ceiling fan. And then—something clicked.
’Wait... is that it?’
His breath hitched as he shot up, adrenaline coursing through him. His gaze snapped to the phone resting at the edge of the bed, its dim screen still displaying the web novel ’featured’ page.
Without hesitation, he grabbed it, his fingers moving with urgency. He navigated to his profile, then to his inbox section, his heart pounding against his ribs. And upon entering the inbox, his eyes were met with a truly charming notification.
[Notification]
[Player has received Future Sight (1/1)]
A sharp exhale escaped his lips as he leaned back, staring at the screen. A weary, almost disbelieving smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
’ Finally... some good news.’
Since he still had possession of the Future Sight stone, that meant his connection to his fate hadn’t been severed. Better yet, if there were no limits to its use, then he’d essentially gained a fragment of time-altering power—a sliver of control over destiny itself.
"Sweet!" He exclaimed.
With this power achieved, not only could he track whether his current actions were leading him down the same doomed path, but—just maybe—he could afford to have a direct conversation with his future self, no matter how short it was.
Was that a bad idea? Absolutely.
But did he have a choice? Hell no.
His execution wasn’t some distant nightmare anymore—it was real. 447 days away. That was the countdown to his death. And if he let paranoia eat away at him, if he sat still and did nothing, those days would slip by faster than he could react.
He pressed his thumb against the Future Sight icon, his breath shallow with anticipation. Then, a short moment afterwards, the screen darkened momentarily, and following that was a secondary pop-up message.
[Error]
[Player can only use Future Sight once every 72 hours.]
His stomach twisted.
’72 hours? That was three days. Three-Damn-Days!’
His grip on the phone tightened, his frustration bubbling to the surface.
’Damn it! I knew there’d be restrictions, but this? This was just cruel. So now I have to wait three whole days—just to watch my future self die all over again?!’
Anxiety gnawed at him, the hunger for knowledge overwhelming. But then he paused, inhaling deeply through his nose before slowly exhaling in an attempt to calm himself.
’No. I’ve got to stay calm. I still have an opening, and I did just attain time magic- that’s gotta be good news.’ He thought as he took a second glance at his phone.
’This means I can still peek into the future. So that means that I’m not entirely doomed.’ Upon realizing this, a weary chuckle slipped past his lips as he let himself collapse back onto the bed, his body sinking into the sheets.
He had a chance—a slim one—but a chance nonetheless. And when the time came, he would be ready.
For now... he needed a plan.
He quickly navigated back to the featured page, pausing briefly to take in the array of displayed works.
’Right. There was still the matter of making $7,000 before Wednesday.’
That was his immediate problem, and one that wouldn’t solve itself. If he wasted too much time thinking about the future, the present, being Son Parker, would eat him alive first.
’Three days until I can use Future Sight again. Three days until I can confront that lunatic who claims to be me. And three days until I find a way to change my fate.’
His jaw tightened as resolve settled into his bones, a plan now completely formed.
’But until then... I need the seven thousand dollars.’
He lowered the phone to his side, forcing his mind to shift gears. If he wanted to survive, he needed to keep moving, to keep completing missions, and solve the problem at hand- the problem of Son Parker.

Time flew by faster than he could process, and before he knew it, he had settled into a relentless grind, completing several missions in no time.
The hours blurred together as he knocked out mission after mission, his fingers tapping through screens, his mind focused on one thing—earning Soul Cores.
He avoided the normal difficulty for now. It wasn’t that he was scared— atleast that’s what he told himself. But after the verbal smackdown Sandy had left him with, the sheer disrespect still ringing in his ears, he wasn’t about to walk into another trap. He could already hear her smug little voice gearing up for Round Two, and frankly? His dignity was on life support. Yeah, he’d pass.
Easy mode was repetitive- seduce and satisfy- but at least it was manageable. And so he gritted his teeth and endured, or rather, enjoyed it all. One mission. Then another. And another, but still, the gain was never enough.
Soon, he started scouting and experimenting, dipping his toes into a few normal-difficulty missions just to rack up some extra soul cores. Of course, it wasn’t all smooth sailing—some of those missions chewed him up and spat him out without a second thought. But, he managed to scrape by on a few wins, and that was enough to keep his ego from completely flatlining.
And so, after a long long while, in due time, he was finally met with the notification he had long awaited—
[Mission Processing...]
[Mssion Complete.]
[Reward: +1 increase in player stats.]
[Reward: Player has received +700 Soul Cores.]
He exhaled, slumping back against his chair, exhaustion settling in. His fingers trembled slightly from the sheer repetition, but he had done it. He had made progress.
With a tired smirk, he muttered under his breath,
"So...I’ve got the money now...all that’s left is to solve the Son Parker problem."
His expression hardened.
"How hard could it be?"
