Chapter 33: Land of Giants

The place towards the continent of Giants were a perilous journey. Even the crew were having shivers as they imagine the potential dangers that they would be into. The thing was, they could not even complain.

But, still, it would do. Just prepare the supplies for the voyage and they would be sailing fine. Luckily, the ship Adeza was still functional and able. Could handle some batterings of the huge waves that would sunk smaller ships.

The hull was still intact and was ever enduring. So they prepared for the voyage. The place they would go into was a dangerous one and untamed. But the lore have said, just mentioning Amara’s name would make the Giant King believe their cause.

The only problem, was the other tribes. Which were the Cyclops. They were beyond reasonable and would attack you without any restraints. They were the enemies of the Giants that inhabited the lands. As far as Kenji’s concern was, the docks to the land of the Giants were near the Cyclops territory. It would be a hassle to get entangled with them and so far in the timeline. The Cyclops tribes would wage war to the giants.

Latter than sooner, they would get eradicated if you will not intervene. Or if you even have the power to intervene in the first place. Still, it would be a mission fail of you will not go to there. Kenji imagined confronting them and he would have chills. Just remembering the past one was not so good as he was nearly killed. Only a handful few play throughs were able to survive the play.

They soon prepared and Kenji was excited and also fearing the worst which was to get butchered by the Cyclops or get captive and get skewered as a kebab in their snacks.

Kenji knew the fear of his crew but he reassured them as he told them they have guards for the travel. And that was to show them the Ghost Lords. They saw the Heroes and were all ignited. They nearly revered their presence and were comforted. They could finally sleep with ease in their travel and stay there.

The ship Adeza was then prepared and then they went sailing toward the Lands of the Giants. The lands where the Cyclops and Giants have inhabited. With several crews and workers with him from the voyage. They will have to gamble with limited resources and manpower.

As the Legends have said, the land of giants were huge. The plants and animals were bigger than the normal. The flora and fauna were untamed and were more wild. There were monsters that were bigger than a house. Some were even bigger than the giants themselves.

He was inside his cabin and he was watching his map. A lamp was beside the map that illuminated what he was watching. With a compass on the side and a few notes.

He watched the map and they would be landing into the East side of the continent and they would mostly encounter the Cyclop tribe. The tribe of Giants were on the West and it would be hard to navigate in an unknown lands. There were no roads and who knows who would appear. If a Giant then good, but if a one eyed one or a cyclops then good luck.

After seeing it all, Kenji went to prepare for the next steps. He sat facing his desk and then went drowsy after several minutes.

The Ship encountered a storm and was being battered by the waves. A few crew members were yelling outside together with their Captain. The ship was tilting on the left and right and it made Kenji have a hard time writing on the brown papers. He was making notes on what his plans were in the future and it was needed to prepare for it.

They passed by the storm and were more smooth sailing now. The wind blew in their favor and their sailing went faster and smoother. The dark clouds were up above the vast continent and they felt a little bit troubled as they saw it.

Kenji could only worry about their future. What could await there in that forsaken place?

The rain then made its way in their direction and they arrived wet in the rain.

"Land ho!" the watcher shouted on the top of the ship while having a telescope.

The docks were still functional and they tied their ship on the wood pole. The Captain then commanded them to unload their resources, food, and, water on the docks.

"Alright, lads! Unload everything! and set up camp in the place." he commanded.

As expected, the place was looming with trees. There were noises from afar and the trees were three times larger than the usual trees from their lands. They tried to land but Kenji instructed them to put the ship on the sea or else they would get attacked by the unknown entities in the night.

Who knows what would happen if they would get attacked by them? They heeded his instructions and Kenji went to travel solo. He would have to navigate the lands on his own.

They ghost lords accompanied him and the forest was what greeted them. Pinewood Forest was the place. And as we speak, were covered with large trees as such.

The chirping of the birds echoed inside it and soon felt the wind blow in a howling sound. The temperature fell and the sun’s rays had difficulty piercing the canopy of leaves.

It was afternoon and they rested after a day of traveling. Their feet and muscles ached on the tiring adventure inside the woods. Kenji the others made camp in a well-spaced-out location and put forth some firewood settled in the center. A campfire was lit and a cooking spit was placed right on top of the fire. Tents were then put up encompassing the fire.

They cooked the meat into a soup and several of them volunteered to guard during the night. Soon, the cricket sound started and Kenji huddled near the fire to warm up himself. His axe and shield were on his side. Even the owl hoots while he is settled in his seat.

He talked with the others as they ate the food still hot. Blowing it as the steam went out of the broth. He ate meat that was seasoned with salt. It was enough with just the ginger to season it.

The night then passed by and he slept on his bedroll inside his tent. Dreams followed as he was sound asleep. Morning came and several guards were still up guarding their post. Having a small round of sleep and guarding made them slightly drained.

"Let us break camp and get ready to resume our travels," Kenji commanded them.

"Yes, sire!" one ghost lord replied.

They soon break camp and put dirt on the campfire. Eating cold meat soup in the morning. They soon resumed their travels up north. The sun was still on the east and they soon went forth on the western side. The place where they will have to conquer his fears.

They soon went traveling and went camping again after arriving on a river. The day passed by and night came. With giant wolves lurking and observing their movements inside their camp, they can’t help but be wary. Other guards haven’t slept at all for the night.

Morning came and the giant wolves attacked. Kenji was alerted and took his sword and shield. The Giant wolves were 3 storeys high and they were running towards the battle. The ghost lords were fighting them off for a minute already.

Other enemies barked at them and then showed their fangs in intimidation. They soon were encompassed and then they attacked with full force.

Kenji then bashed his shield on one enemy and rotated with a slash.

He immediately hacked it and decapitated its head.

Wolves then howled to call forth more enemies. Kenji can only click his tongue on the process. He ran towards the other guards who were on pinch and helped them. Hacking and slashing them off with a brutal weapon. They were flung with every hit of his sword.

One enemy tried to leap at him and he bashed its head instead. Making the enemy whimper in the process.

Kenji then attacked them with fierceness. Slashing and cleaving several others with his sword. Enough to throw them away with his force. Kenji then was surrounded by all of them after he all gathered their aggro.

He was attacked left and right as the enemies thought he would not stand a chance as he was alone. All ghost lords went panicking as their master was in grave danger.

It was then, that Kenji was attacked. He blocked and bashed them that attacked then evaded some fangs. Rotating then bashed and slashed. Others wailed as they were hit and they felt disheartened by their attack.

When the giant wolves knew that they didn’t stand a chance, they immediately retreated. Several others soon followed one with its cowardice and wise decision.

"Haha! Take that!" Sword saint shouted.

"We won! Haha!" Ranger added.

Kenji stammered, "You all can talk?" He was shocked, eyes bulging and mouth agape.
