Chapter 988: 986, Star Devouring Butterfly

"Alright, I’ll go ask Yun Han and Brother Xiao Yao if they want to come along." Luo Shu spoke as she headed towards the neighboring room.

Lu Hanmo closed the door and followed behind Luo Shu along with the three brothers from the Ye Family.

"Knock, knock, knock!" Luo Shu knocked for quite a while before the door was finally opened.

"Luo Shu!" Yun Han opened the door, and his eyes lit up upon seeing her.

"A large number of Star Devouring Butterflies have appeared in the void. We’re planning to catch some. Do you and Brother Xiao Yao want to join us?" Luo Shu asked.

"I’ll go get Xiao Yao." Yun Han nodded and stepped back into the room. He had been planning to craft a Flying Artifact, and the arrival of the Star Devouring Butterflies was perfect timing.

Once Yun Han and Xiao Yao came out, the group headed toward the deck.

On the deck, they saw countless cultivators already gathered.

Earlier, the middle-aged man standing by the cabin entrance and a long-bearded elder were now positioned in the center of the deck.

"This area is the habitat of Star Devouring Butterflies. Our ship will dock here for three shichen. During this time, we will deactivate the Formation Prohibition on the Immortal Ship. Those interested can venture into the void to capture the Star Devouring Butterflies. However, do remember to track the time. If you’re late, the ship won’t wait for you," the middle-aged man announced. Every time they sailed through this region, there were cultivators who ventured into the void and never returned. Getting lost in the void made survival a slim possibility.

As the middle-aged man finished speaking, the formation restrictions on the Immortal Ship were deactivated.

Seeing this, the cultivators rushed out of the ship without hesitation. After all, Star Devouring Butterflies were the finest materials for crafting Flying Artifacts. Even if they didn’t need them personally, selling them to a Trade Tower would yield a handsome profit.

"Let’s go!" Luo Shu’s eyes sparkled with excitement. Catching butterflies in the void would be a first for her; it was bound to be fun.

The group nodded and flew out of the Immortal Ship together.

The void was vast and boundless. With so many people entering it at once, not even a ripple was disturbed. Soon, everyone dispersed and vanished into the endless expanse.

"Let’s split up too," Luo Shu suggested.

"Alright!" Everyone agreed with a nod.

"Shushu, don’t go too far. Call me if anything happens," Lu Hanmo cautioned her anxiously.

"Don’t worry!" Luo Shu raised her hand and made an OK gesture.

After parting ways with the group, Luo Shu flew forward.

Soon, she spotted a swarm of large Star Devouring Butterflies fluttering in the sky. They were so densely packed that it seemed like she could grab a handful with just one swoop.

Targeting a group of Star Devouring Butterflies, Luo Shu charged forward. However, her attempt came up empty. She lunged for another group, only to fail once more. Contrary to her expectations, capturing the butterflies proved far more challenging than it seemed.

She decided to stop and closely observe. She noticed that the flight patterns of the Star Devouring Butterflies were utterly unpredictable. They’d be in one spot one moment, but the moment she moved to grab them, they’d vanish and reappear somewhere else.

Releasing her Divine Sense, Luo Shu expanded it outward to form a dense web, aiming to trap the Star Devouring Butterflies.

As soon as the web closed, the butterflies within vanished in a blur, reappearing far away.

Startled, Luo Shu’s eyes widened. "I didn’t expect them to be this hard to catch." The Star Devouring Butterflies’ ability to teleport so quickly suggested a secret technique. If she could learn it, she’d never have to fear an opponent’s Divine Sense in a confrontation.

Luo Shu directed her Divine Sense toward a group of Star Devouring Butterflies. She wasn’t in a rush to catch them anymore; she just wanted to understand their teleportation technique.

One butterfly noticed her Divine Sense, flapped its wings, and instantly disappeared. In the next moment, it materialized in a different location.

Raising her eyes, Luo Shu noticed a faint, shadowy figure appear where the butterfly teleported. When the butterfly reappeared, it merged with the shadow. This indicated that their teleportation ability came from their ability to create clones.

With this realization, Luo Shu extended her Divine Sense toward one of the butterflies. The moment it disappeared, she quickly searched for its clone, memorizing its movement trajectory and distance.

She repeated the process with another butterfly, again observing its movement trajectory and distance.

After countless meticulous observations, Luo Shu finally pinpointed the pattern.

This time, as she released her Divine Sense toward a group of Star Devouring Butterflies, she simultaneously threw out several Formation Flags, setting up Concealment Formations.

The moment the butterflies sensed the Divine Sense net, they flapped their wings and vanished. Just as they merged with their clones, the pre-set Concealment Formations sprang to life, trapping them in one fell swoop.

Luo Shu flickered toward them swiftly, collecting the trapped butterflies into her spatial storage. From her observations, she had learned that the exact moment of their merging was when their defenses were the weakest—and when they couldn’t perform their clone technique again. This was the perfect time to capture them.

With her newfound knowledge, catching the Star Devouring Butterflies became effortless for Luo Shu. In just over a single shichen, she had captured over a thousand.

Checking the time, Luo Shu turned back toward the Immortal Ship.

"Shushu!" Lu Hanmo flew to her side. Ever since they had parted ways, he hadn’t been able to put his mind at ease, staying nearby and keeping watch over her. Only by seeing her was he able to feel reassured.

"You’ve been here the whole time." Luo Shu smiled warmly at Lu Hanmo and reached out to hold his hand. With her Divine Sense, how could she possibly not have noticed his presence? Knowing he was nearby gave her a deep sense of comfort.

"I was worried about you," Lu Hanmo replied with a slight smile. The void was vast and endless, and he feared they might be separated again. He never wanted to experience that kind of separation again.

"I’ll never leave your side again in this lifetime. I’ll stick to you every day until you get annoyed with me," Luo Shu said, playfully winking with a grin.

Lu Hanmo affectionately tapped Luo Shu’s nose. "I’ll never get annoyed with you."

"You said it! If you ever find me annoying, I’ll bite you," Luo Shu teased with a mischievous smile, flashing her pearly white teeth as a mock threat.

"As long as it makes you happy, you can do whatever you want." Lu Hanmo leaned down, planting a kiss on her lips. After a long moment, he reluctantly pulled away, his deep eyes gazing into hers. "I think I’d rather enjoy it if you bit me like this."

"You’re impossible!" Luo Shu playfully scolded, giving Lu Hanmo a light punch. "It’s about time. Let’s head back."

"As you wish, my lady!" Lu Hanmo entwined his fingers with hers, pulling her along as they made their way back to the ship.
