Chapter 984: 982, Laying out the formation

Thinking about the rewards that hadn’t been distributed to Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo, Xun Haotian took out two storage rings and handed them to the two. "These are for you."

Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo accepted them in surprise. Using their divine sense to inspect the contents, they saw that the storage rings contained an Immortal Spirit Vein, ten thousand Top-quality Immortal Crystals, and one Unmatched Fruit.

"Sect Leader, we cannot accept this," Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo handed the rings back to Xun Haotian. They felt that Xun Haotian had already treated them very well, and they should not push their luck.

"These are rightfully yours. Without you two, these rewards wouldn’t exist in the first place. Just keep them." Xun Haotian refused to take the rings back. He was well aware of the condition of the Liangyi Sect. Without the participation of Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo, the sect would not have secured so many slots this time, nor these rewards, nor their current prestige.

Seeing Xun Haotian’s persistence, Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo reluctantly accepted the rings.

Seeing the two accept them, Xun Haotian felt genuinely pleased. He then took out another storage ring and handed it to Lu Hanmo. "This ring contains the materials needed for the formation setup. If it’s not enough, let me know." The sect had already decided the Mountain Protection Array would be set up by Lu Hanmo and Luo Shu. He was deeply astonished when he learned that both of them were Array Masters.

Typically, Array Masters, Alchemists, Artifact Refiners, or Talisman Refiners would concentrate all their effort on their area of expertise, leaving little time for cultivation. But the two of them managed to balance both cultivation and their mastery of formations. Such figures could only be described as geniuses! It was a pity they were about to leave, otherwise, the Liangyi Sect would certainly reach even greater heights with them.

"Alright!" Lu Hanmo accepted the ring.

"You should take a day off before starting the formation setup tomorrow," Xun Haotian said to Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo. Over the past few days, the two had not had proper rest. Right after the selection tournament ended, they were burdened with the sect’s future. He felt both guilt and gratitude toward them.

"Alright!" Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo agreed. They hadn’t seen their babies for two days now and missed them dearly.

"Yun Han, Xiao Yao, you should stay temporarily in the room next to Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo," Xun Haotian said, looking toward Yun Han and Xiao Yao. They had proposed many beneficial ideas for the Liangyi Sect, and he felt deeply appreciative.

"Alright!" Xiao Yao and Yun Han nodded with a smile.

Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo led Yun Han and Xiao Yao toward the Disciple Court.

"Junior Sister Luo! Junior Brother Lu!" On the way, disciples kept greeting Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo, following alongside them. They had already become idols in the hearts of the Liangyi Sect disciples—a source of inspiration and motivation for their future endeavors.

After escorting Yun Han and Xiao Yao to their rooms, Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo finally returned to their own rooms under the fiery gazes of the disciples.

The moment the door closed, Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo simultaneously let out a sigh of relief. Those disciples’ enthusiasm was overwhelming—it had become too much for them to handle.

After setting up a formation, Luo Shu brought out the two babies from her spatial storage.

"Mommy! Daddy!" The two little ones immediately rushed to Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo, hugging and kissing them.

"What’s got you both so happy?" Luo Shu lightly tapped the little sister’s nose with a smile. What she wished for most now was for her two babies to quickly convert the spiritual power in their bodies into immortal spiritual power so that she and Hanmo could take them out for adventures.

"We just played games with Xiao Qing and the others, and I won with my brother!" The little sister’s rosy cheeks and sparkling eyes shone like starlight glimmering in the night.

"What game did you play?" Luo Shu asked curiously.

"One, two, three, Red Light, Green Light!" the little sister said excitedly.

"It’s so much fun! Every time, I win with my little sister. Daddy, Mommy, can we play too?" The little brother took a sip from his milk bottle, eyes filled with eager anticipation as he looked toward his parents. When Mom had brought them out earlier, they were already playing this game. He hadn’t gotten enough yet.

"Sure!" Luo Shu agreed with a smile.

"Then we’ll shout the cues together." The little brother put his milk bottle aside, afraid he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from drinking it, which would mean losing.

"Let’s start then!" The little sister said excitedly.

"One, two, three, Red Light, Green Light!" They all shouted together.

The room was filled with a warm atmosphere, punctuated by bursts of the children’s laughter that sounded like silver bells.

Early the next morning, Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo split into two teams and began setting up the formations. The two had already mapped out the formation pathways based on the terrain of the Liangyi Sect.

Upon learning that Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo were going to redo the Mountain Protection Array, the Liangyi Sect disciples grew even more reverent of them.

The disciples from the Formation Pavilion divided into two groups upon hearing the news—one headed to Lu Hanmo’s side to watch him set up, while the other ran to Luo Shu’s side to observe her.

Formation flags were cast out one by one, rapidly creating formations of unfathomable complexity and mystery.

The disciples from the Formation Pavilion watched with hearts full of awe.

"Watching Junior Sister Luo set up formations makes me feel like I’ve never studied formations before. I can’t even begin to understand her work."

"Me neither. Not a single thing makes sense."

"It’s such a pity that Junior Sister Luo and Junior Brother Lu are leaving soon. Otherwise, we could learn from them."

"Junior Sister Luo and Junior Brother Lu have such incredible strength and such advanced formation skills. Comparing myself to them makes me want to cry. Why is the gap between us so enormous?"

"This is what they mean by ’comparison leads to despair!’"

As the disciples spoke, Luo Shu completed the formations in her area and moved on to another.

"Junior Sister Luo is so fast; let’s hurry and follow her."

"If one day my formation skills reach Junior Sister Luo’s level, I’ll wake up laughing even in my sleep."

Luo Shu continued scattering formation flags and talismans from her hands. To make the Mountain Protection Array even stronger, she incorporated talisman formations into it. This not only increased the array’s security but also added layers of unpredictability. Unless one possessed mastery in both formations and talisman crafting as she did, breaking the array would be nearly impossible.

The five days passed in the blink of an eye.

While disciples were training at the Training Ground, a series of loud "boom boom!" noises echoed. Soon after, they noticed the surrounding immortal spirit energy thickening significantly.

"What’s happening? Did something happen?"

"It must be Junior Brother Lu and Junior Sister Luo merging their formations."

"No wonder the immortal spirit energy around us suddenly became so dense. Let’s go check it out!" The disciples, abandoning their cultivation, rushed toward the location of Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo.
