Luo Shu and the others got into the car and drove towards the Guard District.

Black Spider clenched her teeth, about to follow, when a car pulled up in front of her.

Shadowless leaned out of the car, "Get in!" The place Luo Shu and the others were heading to was definitely the Guard District, a place with strict guards where they simply couldn’t enter. Therefore, they had to resort to their plan B now.

"Commander! It seems like the car behind us is tailing us," Jin Zhihong said to Lu Hanmo, noticing the car in the rearview mirror.

"Don’t bother with them," Lu Hanmo said indifferently. When he and Shushu had seen Black Spider and Shadowless, they had already guessed their identities. No matter how well they hid, they still emitted a certain bloodthirsty air. From this aura, their identities could be discerned.

"Drive the car to the small woods up ahead," Luo Shu said. The reason she and Hanmo hadn’t taken action against them earlier was firstly that it was inconvenient on the train, and secondly, because she and Hanmo simply didn’t take their opponents seriously. If they wanted their opponents’ lives, it would only take a thought. However, they needed to understand who were the masterminds behind those two, and what their purpose was in sending people to kill her and Hanmo.

"They’ve spotted us," Black Spider said with a playful smile. Since her venomous spiders were useless against them, it was time for a direct confrontation. She and Shadowless were internationally renowned Mercenary Guards; could they really not deal with a few of them? Moreover, Shadowless’s car was equipped with advanced weapons.

"Stop the car," Luo Shu told Jin Zhihong as they approached the small woods, instructing him to halt the vehicle.

"Yes!" Jin Zhihong replied, slowing the car down to a stop.

"Sis, don’t go down. Brother-in-law and Qin Che will go," Luo Zheng said. He did not know who the other party was, but since they had followed them here, their intentions couldn’t be pure.

"No need. I can go down by myself. Everyone else stay in the car," Lu Hanmo said as he pushed the car door open and stepped out.

Luo Zheng, Qin Che, and Jin Zhihong all wanted to go down and help.

"Xiao Jin, drive the car up ahead, and we’ll wait at the intersection," Luo Shu said. If Hanmo couldn’t handle those two, then his training had been for nothing.

Jin Zhihong was somewhat worried but, after a moment of hesitation, he nodded and started the car.

Lu Hanmo stood still, waiting for Black Spider and Shadowless to arrive.

With a "screech," the enemy’s car came to a stop.

The car door opened, and Black Spider and Shadowless got out of the vehicle.

"So you figured out our identities a long time ago," Black Spider said, curling a seductive smile. "Honestly, it’s a pity to kill such an excellent man as you. How about this, you follow me from now on, and as long as you serve me well, I’ll spare you. How about that?"

Shadowless frowned, looking toward Black Spider with cold eyes, and when he saw her, his eyes widened in disbelief.

What he saw was Black Spider lifted off the ground by an invisible force, her feet dangling in the air. She clawed at her own neck, trying to break free from that restraining power, but to no avail, leaving her only to struggle in agony.

Lu Hanmo looked at Black Spider with a cold and sharp gaze, like an eagle, his eyes flickered with a chilling light and a deep disgust.

Shadowless swallowed hard, fearfully looking at Lu Hanmo, "Did you do this?" The extent of Lu Hanmo’s power had surpassed what he could imagine. How could he resist such a formidable being? His plans to doom the other party to death were laughable!

"Who sent you?" Lu Hanmo asked coldly.

"If I tell you, will you let me go?" Shadowless asked. All he wanted now was to be able to leave alive.

"No!" Lu Hanmo answered coldly.

"Then what’s the difference between speaking and staying silent?" Shadowless looked at Lu Hanmo with a deathly gray face. In front of such a powerful opponent, he had no room to resist.

"Speak, and you will die quickly; stay silent, and you will live a life worse than death, just like her." Lu Hanmo turned his head to look at Black Spider.

Shadowless also turned to look and saw that, unbeknownst to him, a flame had appeared under Black Spider’s feet. The fire was now roasting her legs, but Black Spider couldn’t even scream; she could only gasp in pain with her mouth wide open. The agonized expression on her face revealed the inhuman torture she was undergoing.

Shadowless took a deep breath, looked at Lu Hanmo with a somber expression, and said, "The Northern Federal Guard sent us." Facing such a formidable existence as Lu Hanmo, the only choice he had was how to die.

Lu Hanmo frowned. "Reason!"

"I don’t know; my mission was just to kill you and your wife." If he had known his opponent was such a being, he would never have attempted it.

"Why hasn’t the commander arrived yet? Nothing’s gone wrong, has it?" Jin Zhihong worried. Although he knew many stories about commanders, whoever followed them must have come prepared.

Luo Shu opened her eyes, a faint smile on her red lips as she looked in the direction of the small woods, "He’s here." She too had been using her Divine Sense to observe the unfolding events, eager to know the purpose behind their attempted assassination.

Jin Zhihong, Luo Zheng, and Qin Che had all been watching the direction of the small woods. Seeing a figure approaching from a distance, all three were relieved.

"Brother-in-law, who are those people?" Luo Zheng asked curiously.

"International Mercenary Guards," Lu Hanmo said.

Jin Zhihong, Luo Zheng, and Qin Che were all taken aback. They all had heard of the International Mercenary Guards, a very powerful and terrifying force. How had he gotten involved with them?

Lu Hanmo walked over to Luo Shu and sat in the car with her.

Jin Zhihong came back to his senses and also got into the car.

"Brother Lu, I heard that International Mercenary Guards are a group of strictly trained individuals who aren’t afraid of death. How did you get involved with them?" Qin Che asked worriedly. He was currently studying at the Guard School where the curriculum included information about International Mercenary Guards. Aside from the strict training, he was exposed to some knowledge that he wouldn’t normally come across.

"Don’t know," Lu Hanmo said. He really did not know how he and Shushu had offended the Northern Federal Guard to the extent that they would send International Mercenary Guards after them.

"Brother-in-law, what about the people who were following us just now?" Luo Zheng asked. The International Mercenary Guards had a strong sense of retaliation, and if they escaped, there would surely be endless troubles in the future.

"Dead," Lu Hanmo didn’t hide the truth.

Hearing this, Luo Zheng immediately showed a look of admiration on his face, "Brother-in-law! You’re amazing!" His brother-in-law truly lived up to his reputation as the War God; even the International Mercenary Guards were no match for him.
