Spoiled By the Young Master After Reborn In the 80s -
Chapter 733 - 731, The Taste Within
Chapter 733: 731, The Taste Within
"It’s just a pot of wine, right? Why does it have to be so expensive?" Luo Qian Yu asked, coming back to his senses.
"What the four honored guests don’t know is that ’One Drunken Morning’ is an enlightenment wine. Many cultivators, after drinking this wine and sobering up, often experience insights that enhance their cultivation," the server explained.
Lu Hanmo looked toward the group, "What do you think?"
"I think drinking should be for enjoyment. Why don’t we go for the mid-grade ’One Drunken Morning’?" Yun Han suggested. If the wine really was good, he’d consider buying a pot of it.
"I feel the same way," Luo Qian Yu added. Their spirit stones didn’t come easy; spending a million for just a pot of wine was simply not worth it.
"I seldom drink and have no opinion," Hua Mengran said as she picked up the teapot from the table and poured herself a cup. She preferred tea over wine.
"Then let’s have three pots of mid-grade ’One Drunken Morning’, and some of your special dishes," Lu Hanmo said.
"Alright! The four honored guests, please wait a moment!" After speaking, the server left.
The tavern served their dishes quickly, and in just a moment, another server brought the food and wine to the table.
After placing the food and wine on the table, "Please enjoy, honored guests! If you need anything, just call for me." He said before taking the tray and leaving.
Lu Hanmo and the other two each took a pot of ’One Drunken Morning’ and filled their cups.
Luo Qian Yu took a sip, savoring the lingering taste in his mouth, "The taste is quite good, but to call it enlightenment wine might be a stretch."
"It tastes good? Why do I feel it’s a bit astringent?" Yun Han frowned slightly as he took another sip.
Lu Hanmo also lifted his cup and had a drink, "It’s not astringent."
"Could it be that our wines are different?" Yun Han asked in astonishment.
Hua Mengran reached for a wine glass and handed it to Yun Han, "Pour me some."
Yun Han picked up the wine pot and poured her a small half-glass.
After tasting a sip, a hint of surprise flashed in Hua Mengran’s eyes, and she took another, "How come I can’t taste anything? It’s almost like water."
"Impossible! Is there something wrong with your taste? It’s clearly somewhat bitter, how can it taste like water?" Yun Han took another sip of the wine, looking at Hua Mengran with confusion.
"Bang!" Just then, a loud slam came from not far off.
A bald cultivator shouted, "What kind of wine are you selling in this tavern? Why does it smell rotten?"
A server hurried over to the bald cultivator and apologized, "Honored guest, our ’One Drunken Morning’ is enlightenment wine. When people drink it, the taste is different for everyone. Some find it sweet, some sour, some tasteless; the flavor of this wine is determined by the emotions in everyone’s heart."
"No wonder the wine I tasted was sour and his was sweet."
"My wine tasted bitter."
"Mine is sweet and sour,"
Yun Han looked at the wine in his hand, shook his head with a wry smile. It turned out that no matter how well he masked his expression on the surface, he couldn’t hide that hint of bitterness in his heart.
He picked up the wine jug, pouring himself another cup.
Lu Hanmo and Luo Qianyu exchanged a glance and also began to drink their wine. They wouldn’t ask Yun Han what had happened since Yun Han always acted as if everything was fine, they would just pretend to be unaware.
"When we go back, let’s buy a jug to take back," Luo Shu’s voice rang in Lu Hanmo’s ear. She couldn’t drink right now, but she could let everyone else have a taste.
"Sure!" Lu Hanmo curled his lips slightly, feeling the wine in his mouth grow even sweeter.
After a meal filled with food and wine, it was already the early hours of the morning.
The four of them arrived at Qiushan Mountain, waiting for the Barrier to open. Where they were teleported out of the relic was not the original plaza; that place was not far from Qiushan Mountain, and it would take them at most a few Shichen to get there.
As they waited, a few Cultivators also arrived. It seemed they too were looking to leave the Qiushan Mountain Realm.
Those few Cultivators glanced at Lu Hanmo’s group with surprise in their eyes. Weren’t these four the same individuals who entered the relic? When did they come out?
The group exchanged looks, and one of them stealthily crushed a communication talisman.
Witnessing these people observing them covertly, Lu Hanmo’s group understood immediately. Most who came to the Qiushan Mountain Realm from other interfaces did so because of that relic. It seemed those Cultivators had recognized them.
This time they had been somewhat careless, thinking that the people outside the relic wouldn’t arrive here so quickly, so they hadn’t worn their Disguise Masks.
Lu Hanmo locked eyes with Luo Qianyu and Yun Han, deciding to deal with those few people first to prevent future complications.
"I’ll take care of them," said Yun Han, already standing up and walking over to the group of Cultivators. Without saying another word, he brandished his weapon and attacked them. The highest Cultivation among those five was at the Spirit Division Late Stage, but he was more than capable of handling them alone.
"Why are you attacking us unprovoked..." The Spirit Division Late Stage Cultivator was furious, but before he could finish his sentence, Yun Han’s attack had already cleaved his body in two, not even allowing his Yuan Soul a chance to escape.
The others, seeing this, scattered and fled.
But how could they outrun Yun Han? In just a moment, all of them had been reduced to nothing by Yun Han’s strikes.
After removing any trace of those Cultivators, Yun Han returned to sit beside Lu Hanmo and the others, distributing Disguise Masks, "There’s still one Shichen until the Barrier opens. Even if those Cultivators have informed others to come here, we shouldn’t cross paths with them."
This place was three days’ journey from the relic; unless the others were nearby, they definitely couldn’t make it in time. However, this was Qiushan Mountain, the entrance and exit to the Qiushan Mountain Realm; for safety’s sake, he decided it was best to change their appearances.
Once masked, the four of them changed their clothes as well and then split up in pairs, pretending not to know each other.
Time ticked away second by second. In the meantime, several more Cultivators arrived. They had also been to the relic before but had given up early when they saw powerful Cultivators fail to break through the Formation. However, many Cultivators were still waiting there, wanting to see the four who entered the relic come out.
About a dozen Cultivators at the Spirit Division Phase and Mahayana Realm hurried over from afar. They were responding to the earlier communication talisman. They hadn’t gone to the relic this time because, as natives of the Qiushan Mountain Realm, they knew how difficult it was to gain entry.
Upon hearing that someone had entered the relic, the major sects banded together and issued a reward notice. With the prestige of their sects, certainly there would be Cultivators enticed by their offers, ready to pass the information on to them.
