Wu Yuan looked seriously at Wu Tong, "So you must never harbor any thoughts about Lu Hanmo, otherwise there will definitely not be any good outcome." This was also why she had been so eager to pull her sister away and why she told her those things. If her sister really fancied Lu Hanmo, her own relationship with Luo Shu would definitely be affected, and they might even become enemies. This was something she absolutely did not want to see.

"Big Sister, you’re not thinking that I’ve fallen for Lu Hanmo at first sight, are you?" Wu Tong’s eyes widened as she looked at Wu Yuan with surprise. She had just been taken aback by Lu Hanmo’s aura. If she had to choose, she would admire Lu Hanmo, but she wouldn’t fall for someone like him, because a man like Lu Hanmo would only make her feel inferior.

Wu Yuan looked at Wu Tong and saw her looking back at her candidly, feeling somewhat relieved, "I’m glad it’s not the case."

"Of course not. A man like Lu Hanmo is only there to be admired and worshipped. Big Sister, are we coming to Lu Hanmo’s home again tomorrow?" Wu Tong asked. She was now full of curiosity about Luo Shu and really wanted to know what kind of person could make a man as reserved as Lu Hanmo so devotedly dote on her, love her.

"What are you up to?" Wu Yuan looked at Wu Tong with some anxiety. Her previous words weren’t just to appease her, were they? Actually feeling something for Lu Hanmo?

Wu Tong shook her head and smiled wryly, "Why would I lie to you! Besides, you just said it yourself, Lu Hanmo is so devoted to Luo Shu, what use would liking him be? Moreover, destroying a Guard’s marriage is against the law; would I be so foolish?" Even if she did like a man, she would maintain the sanity she ought to have.

"It’s good that you understand that," Wu Yuan finally let go of the worry in her heart. She was just afraid her sister would lose her head and covet something that shouldn’t belong to her.

As the two of them spoke, they had already reached their home’s front gate.

Wu Yuan pushed open the courtyard gate and walked in with Wu Tong, only to see that the house door was not closed.

"It must be your brother-in-law who’s back," Wu Yuan said with a smile.

Wu Tong nodded, "I haven’t seen my brother-in-law in a long time."

After closing the courtyard gate, they walked into the house and indeed saw Li Tingyao had returned. He was sitting on the couch, discussing the plot of a TV series with the children.

A smile appeared on Wu Yuan’s face, "Old Li, Tongtong is here." Ting Yao was indeed a homebody and a good man. No matter how tired he was, he would chat with the four of them before going to rest.

"Brother-in-law!" Wu Tong greeted Li Tingyao with a bit of restraint. She truly respected her brother-in-law from the bottom of her heart.

Li Tingyao turned his head and smiled at Wu Tong, nodding, "Tongtong is here, take a seat. Don’t be formal at home."

"Alright!" Wu Tong nodded in response.

"I’m going to bring the dishes out; you all wash your hands so we can eat," Wu Yuan said as she had already walked into the kitchen. She had been out for a while, and if they didn’t eat now, the food would get cold. Eating cold dishes wouldn’t be good in such cold weather.

"Big sister, I’ll help you," Wu Tong followed Wu Yuan into the kitchen. Perhaps there is a sort of deterrence that people working as Guard Members exude, Lu Hanmo had it, and so did brother-in-law, although he restrained it now, but she still felt it. That kind of deterrence made her instinctively want to stand up straight and show him respect. Also because of this reason, she had never considered marrying someone from the Guards.

After serving the food on the table, everyone sat down around it.

"Where did you go just now?" Li Tingyao asked Wu Yuan. It must have been something important; otherwise, they wouldn’t have left after preparing the meal.

"We went to Deputy Squadron Leader Lu’s place. Didn’t I tell you about it last night?" Wu Yuan reached out to help Wu Tong with her food. "Don’t be shy at your big sister’s house, help yourself to whatever you want to eat."

"Sure!" Wu Tong almost buried her face in her rice bowl. So brother-in-law knew about this too, he couldn’t think that she had come all this way just for matchmaking, could he?

"So, did you set up a meeting?" Li Tingyao asked. If Tongtong could marry Luo Shu’s friend, his relationship with Lu Hanmo would get even closer.

"Yun Han and Tongtong aren’t interested in that, it seems they are not destined for each other," Wu Yuan shook her head with a sigh. Things like these ultimately depended on fate; without it, insisting on meeting wouldn’t make sense.

Li Tingyao nodded and turned to Wu Tong, jokingly saying, "Our Guard District has plenty of excellent young people, if Tongtong is interested, tomorrow your brother-in-law will take you to choose."

"Cough cough cough..." Wu Tong choked in fright.

Wu Yuan glared at Li Tingyao irritably and patted Wu Tong on the back, "Your brother-in-law is joking with you. That’s how he is at home, always fooling around. But I agree with him; if you could marry a Guard here, it would be convenient for us sisters to visit each other."

"I’m fine now." Wu Tong felt somewhat better, took a sip of the soup from the table, and looked at Wu Yuan and Li Tingyao seriously, "Brother-in-law! Big sister! I came here to see you, not for matchmaking. Besides, I’m still young and don’t want to consider that matter yet." Their enthusiasm in finding her a match was somewhat overwhelming. However, she was also grateful, understanding that they cared about her.

"Let’s eat and drop this topic," Wu Yuan said as she placed some food into Wu Tong’s bowl. Since her sister wasn’t concerned, her own worries were pointless.

"Tongtong seldom comes here, take her out shopping tomorrow," Li Tingyao said after taking a sip of his drink. He would have a bit of alcohol every evening but never overindulged, just a moderate amount.

"Yes!" Wu Yuan nodded in agreement, thinking that maybe tomorrow she would invite Luo Shu and Qi Hui to join them for a trip into town. As Tongtong rarely visited, it was only right for her, as the eldest sister, to buy her some new clothes.

"Mom, my pencil case is broken, buy me a new one," Li Yadan said.

Wu Yuan looked at her two sons, "Do you two need anything?"

"I want a dictionary."

"I’ve run out of notebooks."

"I’ll bring it all back for you tomorrow," Wu Yuan said with a smile. She had always felt very blessed, with a loving husband and obedient children; for a woman, she could ask for no more. She hoped that someday her sister would also find her own happiness.
