Chapter 632: Six hundred thirty, idea
Luo Shu checked the time, ready to head out, but just as she opened the courtyard gate, she saw Qi Hui and the two others walking towards her.
"Luo Shu, are you going out?" Wu Yuan asked.
Luo Shu nodded, "Is there something the three sisters-in-law need from me?"
"We just wanted to have a chat with you. If you’re going out, we’ll head back," Wu Yuan said.
"It’s nothing important. It can wait until later. Please, come in and sit for a while," Luo Shu invited them inside. Seeing their worried expressions, she knew they were all troubled about the upcoming competition.
After pouring tea for the three, Luo Shu joined them in the living room.
"The show is tomorrow night, Luo Shu, aren’t you worried at all?" Qi Hui had been regretting her impulsiveness these past few days.
"If we lose, we will become the laughingstock of the entire Guard District," Fang Jingmei said with a frown.
"Luo Shu, do you have any confidence in your fashion show?" Wu Yuan looked at Luo Shu expectantly, putting her last hopes on the upcoming fashion show.
Luo Shu smiled and nodded, "I do have some confidence." She had watched the rehearsal the day before, and they were already performing quite well. Of course, the final result would depend on the preferences of the soldiers.
"Do you really have confidence?" Qi Hui and the others stared at Luo Shu with hopeful faces upon hearing her words.
"Yes!" Luo Shu said, smiling and nodding. Since that was the answer they wanted, she was happy to give it to them.
Qi Hui and the others exchanged glances, "Alright! We believe you!" Deep down, they wanted to see the fashion show Luo Shu had mentioned, but they were also afraid that seeing it would only make them lose hope.
Luo Shu had previously mentioned that a fashion show was just a walk around the stage. But even if the walking was spectacular, it certainly wouldn’t beat the song and dance performances by the Guard. They had kept an eye on the Guard’s performances these past few days, and seeing the girls practice their acts only made them feel less confident about the competition.
Having seen the three off, Luo Shu drove out. Wang Fei and the others should have already arrived at Guantong Lane.
Wang Fei and her group were chatting with Li Yuan. Upon seeing Luo Shu come in, they got up and rushed towards her.
"Luo Shu, we’ve missed you so much!" Wang Fei, Zhang Qi, Liu Mengyao, and Chen Xiaomeng happily surrounded her. Because of Luo Shu’s pregnancy, they didn’t dare to be too boisterous.
"How come your belly hasn’t changed at all?"
"Isn’t it almost three months now?" The four of them stared at Luo Shu’s belly. They had thought that this time they would see Luo Shu with a big belly, but she looked almost the same as before.
"At the very least, there won’t be much change until the fourth or fifth month," Luo Shu said, walking over to the couch with the others and taking the yogurt that Li Yuan handed her. Li Yuan had tried the yogurt before and loved it, so every time she came over, she would always put some yogurt in the fridge.
"Aren’t you carrying twins? I thought you would be different," Liu Mengyao said with a chuckle, sipping the yogurt. She also really liked its taste.
"Luo Shu, how do you make this yogurt? It’s so delicious!" Chen Xiaomeng said as she poured herself another glass. It was better than any other drink she had tried.
"All you do is eat; you’re going to turn into a ball," Wang Fei and Zhang Qi said, looking disdainfully at Chen Xiaomeng.
"Being round can also be quite cute," Luo Shu said, unable to suppress a laugh at the sight of Chen Xiaomeng’s rounder face.
Liu Mengyao reached out to pinch Chen Xiaomeng’s chubby cheek, "If she keeps eating like this, she’ll never get married, but it really does feel nice. You should try pinching her too." In the dormitory, she always loved to pinch Chen Xiaomeng’s cheeks, which were tender and seemed like they could ooze water.
Indifferent to Liu Mengyao’s pinch, Chen Xiaomeng pushed her hand away and kept drinking her yogurt with a contented expression, "My mom says that being able to eat is a blessing."
"That’s true!" The others nodded in agreement.
"I heard from Li Yuan that you’ve taken on the Guard’s performance team this time?" Wang Fei looked at Luo Shu and asked. She felt very excited when she heard it from Li Yuan just now. Her family had a Guard background, and she had seen the Guard’s performances as well. Although the girls were talented, they were incredibly haughty, and Wang Fei really wanted to take them down a peg or two.
"Yes!" Luo Shu replied with a smile.
"I have confidence in you. You have to suppress those from the Guard’s team this time. They act so high and mighty, it’s annoying," Wang Fei said, giving Luo Shu an encouraging gesture.
"Let’s hope so!" Luo Shu responded with a laugh.
"Luo Shu, how did you come up with this idea?" Liu Mengyao asked curiously. She was very interested in fashion and planned to pursue a career in that field after graduation.
"I looked up some information on the topic when I was preparing for the auditions," Luo Shu remarked.
Understanding dawned on Liu Mengyao as she nodded, "I want to work in the fashion industry after I graduate. Luo Shu, do you think that’s feasible?"
"Absolutely! Clothing is at the top of the list of basic human needs — it shows how important clothes are to people," Luo Shu affirmed.
"If I want to start my own brand in the future, do you think that would be viable?" Liu Mengyao asked, looking to the others for their opinion. She lacked confidence in her dream.
"Of course it’s feasible!" everyone agreed.
"As the economic level rises, people in big cities demand more from their apparel. Especially with the clothing stores popping up everywhere like bamboo shoots after a rain, one next to the other. This indicates a bright future for the fashion industry," Wang Fei analyzed.
"Your idea is excellent, and the economy is going to grow rapidly. When people become wealthier, they’ll demand more from their clothing than just comfort and style. Many want to stand out and be different from others, so their choices can be quite blind. A lot of them think they must buy the most expensive rather than the most suitable, and brand becomes their only criterion. Famous brands like Chanel, LV, Versace, Dior, Gucci, and so on become very important," Luo Shu explained.
"Even the clothes produced in small workshops abroad have brands," Li Yuan added. After studying abroad for two months, she had seen much.
"Hearing you all say this gives me confidence," Liu Mengyao’s face lit up with a wistful smile. She decided that once she graduated, she would go to the fashion capital of France to further her studies.
