Chapter 629: 627, cannot get angry

Seeing Qin Yue’s expression that looked as if she wished she could bite him to death, Bai Moyao slightly curved his lips upward, bringing his face close to hers, "You look at me like that, and I might think you’ve fallen in love with me."

Caught off guard by Bai Moyao’s sudden approach, Qin Yue started, but she was lying on the bed with no way to retreat, so she could only glare fiercely at him before turning her head away, "Like hell I would fall for you!"

Bai Moyao, not bothered, raised his eyebrows briefly, stood up straight, and left the room.

Qin Yue turned her head, looking thoughtfully in the direction of the door. She really couldn’t see through Bai Moyao.

Bai Moyao walked into the kitchen, lifted the lid off the pot, poked the chicken meat with a pair of chopsticks feeling it was almost done, took a bowl, scooped out half a bowl of chicken soup and set it aside, then used the chopsticks to pick up a chicken thigh and put it into the bowl.

After covering the pot, he picked up the chicken soup and headed toward the room.

Upon seeing Bai Moyao coming in with the chicken soup, Qin Yue sat up from the bed and reached out, "I can do it myself." Her body felt fine, it was just this annoying man treating her like a child, depriving her of any freedom.

"I’ll do it, in case you scald our child," Bai Moyao sat down by the bed, gently stirred the chicken soup in the bowl with a spoon, scooped up some soup, blew on it to cool it down, and brought it to Qin Yue’s lips.

Qin Yue felt the impulse to drag Bai Moyao out and execute him for five minutes, glaring at him with fury before resignedly drinking the soup from the spoon. If she didn’t drink, he would surely nag nonstop until she did.

"Tastes good, right? My cooking isn’t bad, is it?" Bai Moyao said pridefully, with raised eyebrows, he blew on another spoonful of chicken soup and brought it to Qin Yue’s lips.

Qin Yue shifted her gaze away, refusing to acknowledge Bai Moyao. After these two days together, she knew all too well that he was the type of person who would shine with just a sliver of sunlight. So she simply ignored him, treating him as if he were air.

"Why so silent? Doesn’t it taste good?" Bai Moyao tasted a spoonful of the soup himself, "It tastes pretty good, though."

He scooped up another spoonful of chicken soup, blew it cool, and presented it to Qin Yue again, "My baby needs the nutrition, so please bear with it."

Qin Yue’s teeth gritted with a grating sound, she took a deep breath, "It’s got your saliva on it, I don’t want it."

"I don’t think he will mind," Bai Moyao looked towards Qin Yue’s belly, and asked with a smile, "Right, Baby?"

"I mind!" Qin Yue was close to losing her mind, she breathed deeply several times, covered her belly with both hands, and said with a distressed look, "My stomach hurts so much."

Upon hearing this, Bai Moyao’s expression changed instantly, he quickly placed the bowl of chicken soup on the nearby table, "I’ll call Luo Shu, just wait!" With that, he had already rushed out.

As Qin Yue heard his footsteps receding, her expression immediately returned to normal, she reached for the chicken soup by her side and began to drink. Annoying man, next time I’ll use this trick on you, let’s see who’s more formidable then.

Luo Shu, hearing the urgent knocking, walked forward and opened the door, only to see Bai Moyao outside, she frowned slightly, "Is Qin Yue in trouble again?"

"Her stomach hurts," Bai Moyao replied, drenched in sweat. He should have known better than to tease her.

"I’ll check on her," Luo Shu said, stepping toward the adjacent room.

Entering the room, she saw Qin Yue sipping chicken soup, "Bai Moyao told me your stomach hurts, so I came to see."

Qin Yue gave Luo Shu a meaningful look and placed the chicken soup on the table to one side, glancing at Bai Moyao as he entered, "It was all because he upset me, but I’m feeling a lot better now."

Luo Shu slightly curled her lips, turned her head, and with a stern face looked at Bai Moyao, "Pregnant women must not get angry, or they might also have miscarriages."

"I understand now, it won’t happen again," Bai Moyao promised.

Luo Shu nodded, "You can take her out for a walk from time to time, which will be good for her." She had given Qin Yue a fetus-preserving pill before; with Qin Yue’s physical condition, as long as she didn’t engage in strenuous exercise, the baby would definitely be fine.

"Great! I understand, thank you!" Bai Moyao gratefully looked at Luo Shu.

Luo Shu took out a porcelain bottle and handed it to Bai Moyao, "This pill will benefit Qin Yue, give her one every day, and remember, never anger her again."

Bai Moyao took the porcelain bottle, "I understand!"

Luo Shu looked at Qin Yue and winked, "I’ll be heading back now, call me if you need anything."

Bai Moyao escorted Luo Shu to the door, closed it after her, and walked back to the room to find Qin Yue about to get out of bed; he quickly approached to support her, "Do you need to go to the bathroom?"

"I want to walk around the courtyard; if I lie down any longer, I’ll become useless." Qin Yue put on her slippers and stood up.

Bai Moyao wanted to object, but recalling Luo Shu’s earlier advice, he nodded, "Then let me help you."

"Forget it, I won’t go out after all. Could you go buy me some apples? Luo Shu said that pregnant women should eat more apples." Qin Yue sat back on the bed and lay down again.

"Alright! Then you lie still and wait, I’ll go and when I come back, I’ll take you out for a walk," Bai Moyao instructed, unable to hide his concern.

"I’m not a child," Qin Yue gave Bai Moyao a blank stare, covered herself with the quilt, and closed her eyes.

Bai Moyao shook his head with a smile and stepped out.

Upon hearing the sound of the door closing from outside, Qin Yue sat up in bed, a triumphant smile spreading across her face. Now that she had the golden token in her possession, she would see how she could deal with that odious man in the future.

Qi Hui, Wu Yuan, and Fang Jingmei came to Luo Shu’s home.

Qi Hui placed two pairs of little shoes and little hats she had knitted on the table, "These are some little shoes and hats I knitted myself. Tell me if you like them." Luo Shu was supposed to give birth during the first half of the next year, which would be during summer; so, when the baby would be able to wear these shoes and hats, it would likely be autumn, that’s why she knitted them a bit larger.

"I didn’t know what else to give you, all I can offer are my knitting skills." Wu Yuan also took out a little knitted sweater from her bag.

"I really like them, thank you, sisters-in-law!" Luo Shu happily accepted them; the little hats, little shoes, and little sweater were all knitted so exquisitely and delicately that one couldn’t help but love them instantly.

"Why so formal with us? Compared to the amulets you gave us, these things are nothing," Qi Hui said with a laugh. The amulet Luo Shu had given them had saved her eldest son’s life.

"Luo Shu, where did you get that amulet from? Could you also help me get a few?" Fang Jingmei had also heard about the incident and had always been a believer in such things.

"A friend of mine drew them; I happen to have a few left, I’ll go and get them for you, Sister-in-law." Luo Shu stood up and walked toward the
