Chapter 624: Six hundred twenty-two, take care

After seeing Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo out, Bai Moyao closed the door, walked back to Qin Yue’s side, and seeing her face still somewhat pale, he felt terribly guilty. "I’m sorry!"

Qin Yue did not open her eyes; she did not want to see Bai Moyao right now. Although the situation had turned out this way, she should bear the main responsibility. But she truly did not know how to face Bai Moyao.

Bai Moyao let out a sigh, left the room, and went to the bathroom to fetch a basin of warm water, placing the basin on a chair next to them and wringing out the towel. He then gently helped Qin Yue wipe the bloodstains from between her legs.

Feeling a cool sensation below followed by a warm touch, Qin Yue’s face immediately reddened, and she opened her eyes, wanting to sit up, "I can do it myself." How could she allow a man to help her wipe that place? Even if they were husband and wife, it was not acceptable.

"Don’t move, it’ll be done quickly," Bai Moyao pressed a hand on Qin Yue, the other still gently wiping her.

"I can wipe it myself in a moment," Qin Yue struggled, trying to get up.

"If you don’t care about the child in your belly, then go ahead and do it yourself," Bai Moyao’s voice carried a hint of anger, but his movements remained as gentle as ever. He truly did not know what to do with this woman now.

Qin Yue stopped struggling, her hand touching her own stomach. Yes, she had almost lost him just now; if it happened again, Luo Shu might not be able to save him.

Bai Moyao, seeing Qin Yue’s actions, felt the anger in his heart dissipate significantly. So she did care about their child after all.

After washing the blood from the towel and wiping Qin Yue again until no bloodstain could be seen, Bai Moyao finally stopped.

Seeing the large, shocking bloodstain left on the bedsheet, Bai Moyao felt his heart wrenching in pain. He tossed the towel into the basin, covered Qin Yue with the blanket, turned, and walked to the wardrobe, pulling out a clean set of clothes.

He returned to Qin Yue’s side, lifted the blanket again, and placed the clothes under her. The bedsheet was still wet with bloodstains, and it would be uncomfortable to lie on. As for Qin Yue, it was not advisable to move her now, he would help her get dressed after she felt a bit better.

"You rest for a while, I’m going to cook you something to eat," Bai Moyao covered Qin Yue with the blanket, picked up the basin, and left the room.

After pouring out the basin, which had turned a somewhat crimson color, and washing his hands, Bai Moyao went to the kitchen where there were only some vegetables, rice, some flour, and a few eggs.

Thinking it over, Bai Moyao decided to make Qin Yue a bowl of noodles and add two eggs. Her body was very weak now, and she needed nourishment. Tomorrow he would go into town to buy some nutritional supplements for her, so she could properly recuperate.

After rolling out the noodles, Bai Moyao put them into a pot to cook. Having attended Guard School, such tasks were naturally no problem for him.

Before long, the pot began to emit the aroma of cooking noodles.

Bai Moyao walked over to the cupboard, opened it to find only a chipped bowl, and shook his head. It seemed there was much to buy tomorrow. Given Qin Yue’s current condition, she could not go back; she would have to stay here for a while.

Qin Yue lay with her eyes open, staring at the ceiling, listening to the bustling sounds from the kitchen, her emotions complex.

The sound of footsteps approached as Bai Moyao came in carrying a bowl of noodles.

"I’ll help you up so you can eat something," Bai Moyao placed the bowl of noodles on a chair beside him, and stepped forward, carefully helping Qin Yue sit up. He placed a pillow behind her and picked up the bowl, lifted some noodles with his chopsticks, blew on them, and held them to Qin Yue’s lips.

"I don’t want to eat," Qin Yue spoke softly.

"You have to eat. You’re carrying my child. Even if you don’t want to, I can’t let my child go hungry," Bai Moyao said, somewhat angrily. No matter what this woman thought, from today on, he would never let her harm herself or their child again.

"Bai Moyao, we should get a...," Qin Yue tried to speak, but Bai Moyao stuffed the noodles in her mouth, silencing the words she was about to say.

"From today on, I’ll be responsible for your daily needs. I’m not doing this for you; I’m doing it for my child. As for what you want, once you give birth, I’ll naturally let you have your way," Bai Moyao stated with an icy tone. This damned woman actually wanted to divorce him? Not a chance!

Qin Yue fell silent once more. Maybe that was for the best.

After feeding the noodles in the bowl to Qin Yue, Bai Moyao steadied her and adjusted the pillow behind her to let her lie down slowly. He covered her with a blanket, took the bowl, and walked out.

Qin Yue thought Bai Moyao would come back, but after waiting a long time, even as sleepiness overcame her, she still hadn’t seen Bai Moyao return to the room. Where had he gone?

After finishing the noodles in the pot, Bai Moyao took a shower and left the house. He planned to find Song Jiefang and borrow a car. He had to go to the city to buy things tomorrow, and it wouldn’t do without a car. However, after knocking for a long time, Song Jiefang still didn’t come to open the door.

Song Jiefang entered the courtyard where the performance troupe resided and had someone call out Song Youyou. He had assumed she would come here and definitely return home to stay. But he had already made dinner, and she still hadn’t come back, so he had to come look for her here.

Song Youyou came out, and a complex emotion flickered in her eyes at the sight of Song Jiefang. Since she was a child, her father had always loved her dearly. In her heart, her father was the most important person. But he had betrayed her, betrayed her mother. So she began to distance herself from him, to evade him. Yet she knew in her heart that she still couldn’t let go of him.

"Youyou," Song Jiefang greeted his long-unseen daughter with a happy smile on his face and hastened towards her.

"Is something the matter?" asked Song Youyou in an indifferent tone.

Song Youyou’s attitude was like a bucket of cold water, instantly dousing Song Jiefang’s enthusiasm, "Why don’t you come home after you return? Dad has already made dinner. Let’s go home to eat."

"I’ve already eaten. If there’s nothing else, I need to go back in for the rehearsal," Song Youyou said flatly.

"Youyou, that incident happened so long ago, can’t you let it go?" Song Jiefang looked at Song Youyou with a saddened face. He had made his choice, so why was she still so persistent?

Seeing the look on Song Jiefang’s face, Song Youyou bit her lip, "I’m still busy." After speaking, she turned and walked back into the house. Some things, once they happened, simply happened. Even after a wound heals, it still leaves a scar.
