Spoiled By the Young Master After Reborn In the 80s
Chapter 607 - 605, Archery Competition

Chapter 607: 605, Archery Competition

By the time the young ladies had distributed all the handkerchiefs, the archery competition followed.

An old man walked up to the ten young men who were about to participate in the archery contest, glanced at everyone, and announced, "Next, each of you will have ten arrows, whoever hits the target the most times and scores the highest number of rings will get to own the Warrior Badge."

The old man raised his hand and pointed towards the distance where a copper-gold plaque was hanging. Carved into the plaque with Li City script were the words ’Warrior’.

This single plaque in all of Li City represented not just honor but also pride. For the recipient would become the warrior of the entire city, receiving respect and worship.

The ten young men about to enter the competition all stared at the Warrior Badge with fiery eyes, their gazes filled with longing and a strong fighting spirit.

After the old man had arrows in quivers delivered to each of the ten contestants, he said, "Good! Now you can head to the range to prepare, and we’ll start the competition in three minutes."

At the end of the square, ten targets were lined up in a row, and the contestants took their places in front of the targets corresponding to their numbers.

They focused intently on the distant targets, occasionally lifting their bows to assume shooting positions, searching for the angle that suited them best.

Upon hearing an instruction announcing the start of the competition, all ten young men simultaneously reached back into their quivers, drew an arrow, raised their bows, aimed quickly, and began shooting.

All ten were archery masters, and naturally, their skills were formidable. With forceful draws of the bow, several "swooshing" sounds were heard as the arrows shot forth like shooting stars.

"Thump thump thump!" The arrows struck the targets across from them one after another.

After the scores had been recorded on the opposite side, the contestants released their second arrows.

With every shot, the sound of arrows piercing the targets could be heard.

These sounds stirred the surrounding crowd into cheers again and again. Now, during the evening when visibility was poor, just seeing the targets was an achievement, let alone hitting them.

"I think the young man in the green clothes will be the winner of the competition."

"No! I feel that the one in blue clothes seems more likely to win."

"That’s not a given; Le Sa was the warrior of the last competition, perhaps he could take the crown again this time."

Amidst the speculations of the crowd, the shooting contest was reaching its conclusion.

After the contestants fired their last arrows, the chatter ceased as everyone held their breath, waiting for the results of the competition.

Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo exchanged smiles, held each other’s hands, and walked out of the crowd. They already knew the outcome.

After tonight, their journey too would come to an end. They would stay with the Lu family for one night, then set off for the training camp the following afternoon. It was uncertain when they would get the chance to travel again.

When they returned to the Lu family’s home, everyone had already retired to rest.

Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo didn’t disturb anyone and went back to their room, washed up briefly, and then embraced each other in sleep.

It wasn’t until there was a knocking on the door that Luo Shu woke up groggily. Even with her cultivation, pregnancy had made her particularly sleepy.

Seeing Luo Shu awaken, Lu Hanmo bent his head down and gently kissed her lips, "You sleep a little longer, I’ll go downstairs and talk to everyone." The person who had just knocked was his mother; he had already sent her a message with his mind, telling her that Shushu was not yet awake.

"Mm!" Luo Shu lazily responded and then drifted back to sleep.

Lu Hanmo gazed at Luo Shu for a long time, kissed her on the lips once more, and then reluctantly got out of bed.

Downstairs, everyone was already waiting.

After greeting everyone, Lu Hanmo took a seat on the sofa.

"I heard you guys were back and thought it was a joke," Zhu Huizhen said with a smile. That’s why she had knocked on their door, wanting to verify if it was true.

"I’ve taken a week off to take Shushu around. I’ll have to return to the training camp this afternoon," Lu Hanmo said, pouring himself a cup of tea.

"I heard you also went to the disaster area this time," Old Master Lu said, looking at Lu Hanmo.

"Yes, Grandpa!" Lu Hanmo nodded in response.

"That girl from the Qin Family has come to our house several times, saying she wants to see you," Old Master Lu said slowly, taking a sip of tea.

"I don’t plan to see her. There’s no need for me to meet her. Qin Qi must be punished," Lu Hanmo said firmly. As for Qin Yue, he didn’t have much of a relationship with her to begin with, so naturally, there was no need to do her this favor.

"That’s also my decision," Old Master Lu said with a smile. He was already aware of the whole incident. Qin Qi, in an attempt to embarrass Luo Shu, had nearly cost the lives of a dozen severely injured patients. Such a mistake was not worthy of forgiveness. She had to take responsibility for what she had done.

Seeing that the conversation between Lu Hanmo and Old Master Lu had come to a pause, Zhu Huizhen asked, "Hanmo, has Shushu had any reactions these days?"

"Just a bit more sleepy," Lu Hanmo replied.

Zhu Huizhen thought for a moment, "How about I go and stay with Luo Shu for a while?" Although Luo Shu was a True Cultivator, Zhu Huizhen was still somewhat worried.

"Mom! I’ll take good care of Shushu," Lu Hanmo said. His job was now different from before. Although he couldn’t take leave frequently, he could go back several times every day, have lunch with Shushu, and chat.

Zhu Huizhen looked at Lu Hanmo with a smile and teased, "Never mind, I won’t disturb you two." She knew her son wanted to spend time alone with his wife, so she wouldn’t be a third wheel.

After a short nap, Luo Shu also got up, washed up a bit, and went downstairs, seeing everyone chatting in the living room.

"Grandpa! Dad! Mom! Auntie!" Luo Shu greeted everyone and sat down next to Lu Hanmo.

Zhu Huizhen quickly had someone bring up the already prepared bird’s nest and lotus seed porridge, "Luo Shu, have it while it’s hot. This porridge is very good for pregnant women." After Luo Shu got pregnant, she specially collected some recipes beneficial for pregnant women, planning to make them for Luo Shu when she returned.

"Mm!" Luo Shu nodded with a smile and started drinking the porridge from the coffee table. Although she didn’t really like bird’s nest, she knew it was a gesture of kindness from her mother-in-law, so she definitely wouldn’t let it go to waste.

"Is it good?" Zhu Huizhen was very happy to see Luo Shu finish the bird’s nest and lotus seed porridge.

"It’s very tasty. Thanks for the effort, Mom," Luo Shu smiled.

"As long as you like it. It’s a pity you don’t live at home, otherwise, I would make it for you every day. I’ve collected a lot of nutritious recipes. Next time, when Mom visits your place, I’ll make them for you slowly," Zhu Huizhen said with a laugh.

"Okay!" Luo Shu promised, albeit reluctantly. She enjoyed spending time with her mother-in-law but truly didn’t care for those nourishing foods.
