Chapter 595: Five hundred and ninety-three, shocking
Mo Shaoze nodded, "Just the two of us?"
"Shushu will also come with us," Lu Hanmo said. Only when she was by his side did he feel completely at ease.
"She’s pregnant, going there is too dangerous!" Mo Shaoze looked at Lu Hanmo with some disbelief. He didn’t quite understand Lu Hanmo’s thinking.
Lu Hanmo smiled, picked up the umbrella they had just put up, and led Luo Shu outside by the hand.
Mo Shaoze hurriedly followed. He had forgotten to take off his raincoat earlier due to concerns about the villagers, but now there was no need to put it on again.
Stepping out of the tent, he saw Lu Hanmo and Luo Shu standing not far away waiting for him, and he quickly quickened his pace towards them.
Lu Hanmo carried Luo Shu on his back while Luo Shu took the umbrella and held it over both their heads.
Seeing Lu Hanmo carrying Luo Shu reminded Mo Shaoze of the first time he and Lu Hanmo had met Luo Shu, when the three of them had gone up the mountain to look for wild ginseng. Back then, Lu Hanmo had also carried Luo Shu like this, but at that time, he had also been carrying a stinking wild boar. That memory was so vivid, he would never forget it for the rest of his life.
When the three of them had walked far enough not to see the tent anymore, Lu Hanmo stopped and turned to look at Mo Shaoze behind him, "Aren’t you curious about how we came here?"
Mo Shaoze nodded. The question was utterly baffling to him.
Lu Hanmo let go of Luo Shu and waved his hand, and a flying sword hovered in front of the three of them.
At the sudden appearance of the flying sword, Mo Shaoze was stunned, "Is this a sword? Where did you hide it just now? How can it hover in mid-air like this?"
"We came here riding it," Luo Shu said with a light laugh, unable to restrain herself at the sight of Mo Shaoze’s expression.
"Are you joking with me? How can a sword carry people?" Mo Shaoze stared at the sword in front of him, shaking his head in disbelief. He knew that Lu Hanmo and Luo Shu must have some secrets, otherwise, they wouldn’t have talismans. But the situation in front of him was simply too unbelievable! He had never heard of a sword that could carry people.
"Try getting on, and you’ll know," Lu Hanmo said.
Mo Shaoze looked at Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo for a long while, sure that the two of them were not joking, then looked at the flying sword again. With slight hesitation, he stepped forward, lifted his foot, and stepped onto it.
Discovering that the flying sword did not wobble, a glint of shock flashed in his eyes, and he stepped up with the other foot, "It really can hold a person, this is unbelievable!" A bit skeptical, he jumped a few times on it, finding that the flying sword still did not move at all, as if it were firmly fixed there, "It’s amazing! Truly amazing!"
Lu Hanmo and Luo Shu exchanged smiles and stepped onto the flying sword, "Hold on tight, I’m not responsible if you fall off."
Mo Shaoze quickly reached out and grabbed Lu Hanmo’s clothes, excited and eager, anticipating the moment the flying sword would fly into the sky. He found that he could no longer see through Lu Hanmo and Luo Shu clearly, as if they were not of the same world as him. And yet, he had grown up with Lu Hanmo, so why was this happening?
The Flying Sword slowly ascended and soon stabilized, soaring in the sky.
Mo Shaoze looked down in amazement, at everything below that had become as tiny as ants, filled with profound shock in his heart!
"Lu Hanmo, why can you fly? Why do you possess such magical power?" Mo Shaoze asked, staring at Lu Hanmo before him. He truly wanted to know, when did Lu Hanmo become so different.
"I am a True Cultivator," Lu Hanmo replied. Since he had revealed the Flying Sword to Mo Shaoze, he had no intention of hiding the truth from him.
"An Ancient Martial Artist?" Mo Shaoze inquired. He knew that the Divine Doctor Family belonged to an Ancient Martial Sect.
"True Cultivators surpass the Ancient Martial Arts. The Cultivation Secret Manual I gave you, if you practice diligently, you also may one day become a True Cultivator," Lu Hanmo said. The last time he saw Mo Shaoze, he had noticed that his strength had reached the Level Yellow Mid Stage without Mo Shaoze being aware of it.
"I can too?! So can I fly in the future?" Mo Shaoze asked, shocked. He too wanted to soar through the skies like this.
"As long as you work hard!" Lu Hanmo nodded with a smile. Mo Shaoze’s potential was decent, but whether he could succeed in cultivation was up to him. He would only provide some help as appropriate.
"Great!" Mo Shaoze gestured energetically, as if pumping himself up. He was looking forward to that day!
The Flying Sword gently descended, and Mo Shaoze, still longing for more, leaped off. What once took half a day’s walk now took less than ten minutes to reach.
"The villagers of Yongan Village are all at the mid-mountain, go and bring them here; I’ll set up the tents," Lu Hanmo told Mo Shaoze, choosing this village first because the villagers of another were already taking shelter in the caves. Although they lacked food, they were spared from the wind and rain.
"Okay!" Mo Shaoze hurried towards the mountain base. As long as the villagers were safe, he would be at peace!
Lu Hanmo waved his hand, and a giant tent appeared before him. After placing water, food, and medicine inside the tent, he and Luo Shu left, trusting that Mo Shaoze would handle everything well. The disaster area was too vast; they still had to deliver water and food to those common folk who hadn’t received timely help.
After several days of heavy rain, it finally came to a stop, leaving the ground full of puddles and mud.
Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo landed in front of a village. Its villagers were also gathered on a mid-mountain terrace at the back mountain. However, when they just used their Divine Sense to inspect, they found the mountain somewhat eerie, emanating a chill and also shielding a Formation. They were certain there was something strange about this mountain, likely home to a True Cultivation Sect.
Lu Hanmo carried Luo Shu on his back and started walking up the mountain. The ground was all muddy, and he didn’t wish for Shushu to get dirty.
Lu Hanmo moved swiftly and steadily, Luo Shu on his back feeling not the slightest jolt or discomfort. She quite appreciated the feeling of being pampered by him.
The two soon arrived at mid-mountain, where they saw many people from afar, sitting or lying down. Due to injuries and days of hunger, they were already pale and weak, their eyes hollow with despair. All they could do was wait for death here—be it from starvation, illness, or being drowned by a mudflow eruption again.
