Zhang Xiaoling almost spat out her drink upon hearing this. What an impressive excuse!

"That means we’re short-staffed now, maybe we should hire some more people," Zhang Xiaoling suggested. She was there not only to share the good news with Luo Shu but also to seek her opinion on whether to recruit from outside or just from the wives of the Guard’s Members Courtyard.

"You take care of it yourself, you have full responsibility for the factory matters," Luo Shu said, as she picked up another piece of apple with the toothpick and placed it into her mouth, a simple gesture executed with surprising elegance.

Zhang Xiaoling watched Luo Shu’s movements, feeling somewhat envious. Despite both being women, Luo Shu had a certain demeanor she could never seem to emulate.

"I know what to do now, I’ll go tell the wives the good news. They will be overjoyed to hear about it," said Zhang Xiaoling, recalling that just yesterday a few had asked her about recruitment opportunities.

"Hmm," Luo Shu responded, a sign of acknowledgment. After a day out, she felt tired and planned to rest after Zhang Xiaoling left.

"Then hurry up, let’s go!" said the eager Guard’s Wives. They had long awaited this opportunity and wouldn’t let it slip by this time.

When Luo Shu woke up, it was already evening.

Once in the bathroom, Lu Hanmo gently put Luo Shu down, helped her fill a cup of water, and handed her the toothbrush with toothpaste on it.

Taking the toothbrush and toothpaste, Luo Shu playfully rolled her eyes at Lu Hanmo, "I’m almost like a useless person now." Yet, she really enjoyed the feeling of being pampered by him.

"Shushu, I’ve taken a week off. Where would you like to go?" Lu Hanmo said after Luo Shu finished brushing her teeth, offering her a towel.

Luo Shu looked at Lu Hanmo with surprise, "I want to go everywhere." She also wanted to see her mother, who was nearly eight months pregnant, and it wouldn’t be long before the birth. She was curious to know if the child would be her brother from her previous life. Remembering their kindness towards her back then, she truly missed them.
