Chapter 586: Five hundred and eighty-four, good news
"After these two guests finished their meal, they just sat there drinking tea and chatting. The two sisters here have been waiting for a long time, so they asked a question that led to a dispute," the waiter apparently also had grievances against the young couple. But as business owners, even if they were unsatisfied with the customers, they could only complain to themselves.
Old Master Ning nodded in understanding and said to the two waiters, "Remember these two people; from now on, our restaurant will not do business with them." He didn’t open the restaurant to make money, and for people he didn’t like, he would never try to please them.
"Okay!" The two waiters nodded in agreement.
"Please ask them to leave!" Old Master Ning commanded sternly.
Sun Xiaolan stepped forward and said to the young couple, "Please leave!" She disliked this kind of people, too. It wasn’t that they couldn’t sit in their restaurant. If the business was slow, they could sit until dark without her saying a word.
But today the restaurant was too crowded, and there were many people waiting. The customers at the other tables left as soon as they finished their meal when they saw people waiting. These two, however, were slowly sipping their tea and even started arguing when someone inquired.
"Is this how you run a business? We are paying, why can’t we sit here?" the young woman said indignantly. Being asked to leave in front of so many people was humiliating.
"Our restaurant doesn’t welcome customers like you; is this reason acceptable?" Sun Xiaolan asked.
"I don’t accept this reason, and why are you only asking us to leave and not them?" the young woman pointed at Wu Yuan and Qi Hui and asked.
"Why should they be asked to leave if they’ve done nothing wrong?" Sun Xiaolan replied.
"So, we’re at fault?" the young woman argued back, dissatisfied.
Sun Xiaolan snorted and looked at the crowd, "The eyes of the masses are sharp. I believe they will give you a satisfactory answer."
"Girl, this was your fault to begin with. Those sisters waited beside you for a long time and just asked a question, and you splashed tea at them. I’ve yet to see someone as unreasonable as you," said an uncle sitting nearby. He was the closest to the action and therefore had the clearest view of the incident. Although the two sisters dodged quickly and weren’t splashed, the wet spot on the ground proved he wasn’t lying.
"Right, I saw it, too."
"There are so many people in this restaurant. If everyone behaved like you, could the owners still run their business?"
"Those sisters are just patient. If it were me, I would have slapped you right away."
Hearing the crowd’s condemnation, the young couple was full of anger but they weren’t foolish—they were only two people against many, there was no advantage in picking a fight.
"You’ll regret this!" the young woman glared at Sun Xiaolan and the others fiercely, then pulled the young man out with her.
"Luo Shu, let’s go too," Wu Yuan said. The good mood was spoiled by the disturbance caused by those two.
Luo Shu glanced at Qi Hui, saw that she had also lost her appetite, and turned to Old Master Ning, "Grandpa Ning, we’ll come back another time."
"Hmm," Old Master Ning nodded, then turned towards the kitchen.
Even after returning to the staff quarters, Wu Yuan and Qi Hui were still in a bad mood.
"Come over to my place and have something to eat," Luo Shu suggested, looking at them.
"No, I should get home. I don’t know what kind mischief those three troublemakers have been up to," Qi Hui said before picking up her things and heading home. Those two jerks had ruined her good mood. If she hadn’t been trying to uphold her image as the Guard’s Wife, she would have fought that woman there and then.
"I’m going back too. The kids will be over the moon when they find out I’ve bought them Sugar Figurines," said Wu Yuan, and she caught up with Qi Hui, walking towards her home.
Luo Shu shook her head, smiling, and then turned to head in the direction of her own home.
"Luo Shu." Seeing Luo Shu return, Zhang Xiaoling called out happily.
"Is there something to be happy about?" Luo Shu asked, seeing the joyful smile on Zhang Xiaoling’s face.
"Yes! Great news." Zhang Xiaoling nodded excitedly, taking the items from Luo Shu’s hands.
"Let’s talk inside," Luo Shu said, unlocking the door and letting Zhang Xiaoling in.
Once inside, Zhang Xiaoling placed the items on the coffee table and announced to Luo Shu, excitedly, "I got a call from Director Shen today. He said that several sales outlets in other provinces and the surrounding area want to order our cakes, and they want to order in large quantities." She almost thought she was dreaming when she heard the news. She had never anticipated the cakes selling this well.
Luo Shu smiled and nodded, "That’s good news. If things continue like this, your dream will soon come true."
"I’m so excited! It feels like I’m dreaming; I almost passed out from happiness," she said, pinching herself repeatedly on the way here, and each time she felt the pain, she couldn’t help but laugh excitedly. The passing Guard’s Wives thought she had lost her mind, and they all came over to ask.
"Calm down! Otherwise, when ’Love to Eat Cake’ spreads throughout Yan Country, I’m going to have to stand by with first aid," Luo Shu teased.
Zhang Xiaoling rolled her eyes at Luo Shu. Imagining that one day ’Love to Eat Cake’ would be all over Yan Country as Luo Shu had said, she couldn’t help but burst into hearty laughter. That once distant dream seemed not so far away anymore.
Luo Shu went into the kitchen, brought out a pot of tea, and some snacks and fruit.
Seeing Zhang Xiaoling covering her mouth, her eyes squinting into a fine line, laughing nonstop, Luo Shu couldn’t help but laugh too. Everyone’s dreams were different, but the feeling when a dream is about to come true is always the same.
She had felt that same satisfaction when Hanmo first carried her on his back. At that moment, she was so excited she could hardly contain herself. She wanted to announce the good news to the whole world.
When Zhang Xiaoling finally stopped laughing, Luo Shu handed her a cup of tea, "Have some tea. You seem so excited; did you run here?"
"Yeah!" Zhang Xiaoling took the tea, blew on it, and started drinking. She had been thirsty from running all the way.
Still feeling thirsty after one cup of tea, Zhang Xiaoling reached for the teapot on the table, poured herself another cup, and asked after a few sips, "How can you be so calm?" As the person in charge of the factory, shouldn’t Luo Shu be even happier to hear the news? Her expression was as if the factory had nothing to do with her.
