Chapter 524: Five hundred and twenty-two, the result

"Instructor Lu! I’m sorry! He only said he wanted to go out for a walk, I really didn’t know he had such thoughts." Liu Chunhua had already been so scared that she didn’t know what to do, but seeing her husband coming over calmed her down a little.

"Instructor Lu! I’m truly sorry! I only just found out about this." Wu Yanhua apologized.

Lu Hanmo waved his hand at the two of them and headed inside the house. Liu Chunguang didn’t seem to be there just to steal something—that much was clear to him. As for any other purpose, that should come to light soon enough.

Once Lu Hanmo had entered the house, Wu Yanhua quickly pulled Liu Chunhua and hurried towards their own house.

Upon closing the door, Wu Yanhua raised his hand and gave Liu Chunhua a slap, "Do you not rest until you’ve killed me!" He was really furious this time. Zhao Dahai’s matter had just passed, and this foolish woman was already eager to lead him down the same path Zhao Dahai went.

Liu Chunhua couldn’t care about the pain, and she immediately started explaining anxiously: "I really didn’t know Chunguang would do such a thing. Today, I had no choice but to bring him back after he pestered me so much. I originally planned to send him away once you got back. I never expected that he would dare to sneak into Instructor Lu’s house."

"What do you think we should do now?" Wu Yanhua asked, glaring at Liu Chunhua with a stern face. If her brother simply wanted to steal something, it might have been better. But if he had any other intentions, he couldn’t imagine how he would end up. He knew a thing or two about Lu Hanmo’s methods.

"We’ll go and apologize to Sister-in-law Lu again tomorrow, no matter what, I will beg until she forgives us," Liu Chunhua decided. At this point, she didn’t care what would happen to Liu Chunguang; he could bear the consequences of his own actions. The important thing was to make sure Old Wu wasn’t implicated.

After Lu Hanmo finished showering, he saw Luo Shu sitting on the bed reading a magazine. He smiled, walked over, lifted the covers, and sat down. "Is that magazine interesting?"

"Interesting!" Luo Shu nodded, absorbed in the magazine she was holding.

"More interesting than me?" Lu Hanmo brought his face close to Luo Shu’s.

"Hmm!" Luo Shu glanced at Lu Hanmo then turned her attention back to the magazine, but a smile involuntarily spilled over the corners of her mouth.

"Wife!" There was a tinge of grievance in Lu Hanmo’s voice.

Luo Shu could no longer hold back her laughter, put down the magazine, turned her head, and said, "Not as good-looking as you. You’re the best-looking in my eyes."

"That’s more like it!"

Liu Chunhua had a restless night and early the next morning, she took two bags of white sugar and headed to Luo Shu’s home. Although the white sugar was painful to part with, her husband’s future was more important.

Standing outside Luo Shu’s front door, she hesitated for quite a while before finally gathering her courage and knocking gently.

Luo Shu was on the phone with Zhao Aishu. Hearing the knock, she said, "Godmother, someone is knocking at the door; I’ll call you back in a bit."

After hanging up the phone, Luo Shu walked over to open the door and saw Liu Chunhua standing outside. "Sister-in-law Chunhua, is there something you need?" She was not fond of Liu Chunhua, whose thick skin was even thicker than the city walls.

"I’ve come to return the sugar," Liu Chunhua lifted her hand to show Luo Shu the white sugar she was carrying.

"Is there anything else?" Luo Shu glanced at the white sugar and asked in a cool tone.

"Sister-in-law Lu! I’m terribly sorry about what happened yesterday! It’s all my fault. Please blame me if you must. My Old Wu really didn’t know anything at all," Liu Chunhua pleaded with Luo Shu.

"I understand," Luo Shu replied in an indifferent tone.

"You won’t ask Old Wu to resign, will you?" Liu Chunhua asked, not reassured.

"It’s not up to me to decide. I have things to do, so I won’t keep you any longer." Having said that, Luo Shu closed the door.

Liu Chunhua stood outside the door for a long time. She raised her hand several times to knock again but feared provoking Luo Shu’s anger. In the end, she could only walk back to her own house with her head low and a sad expression on her face.

Lu Hanmo walked into the interrogation room with a chilling air about him, looking down from his height at Liu Chunguang, who was already somewhat dazed. After learning what Liu Chunguang intended to do at his home the previous day, he was so angry he wanted to turn him to ashes. How dare this man covet his wife; it was simply seeking death!

Feeling the formidable aura exuding from Lu Hanmo, Liu Chunguang shivered uncontrollably. He didn’t need to look to know who had arrived. Now, he truly regretted everything; had he known that coming to this training camp would result in such consequences, he would have preferred to be chased by creditors and have both his hands chopped off.

Liu Chunguang raised his head and, upon seeing the bone-chilling gaze in Lu Hanmo’s eyes, suddenly came to his senses, desperately pleading, "Please let me go...I won’t dare anymore..."

Lu Hanmo let out a cold laugh and turned, leaving the interrogation room. This man wasn’t even worth the effort to raise his hand, but he would naturally not let him off easily.

As Lu Hanmo left, two soldiers entered the interrogation room, unlocked the handcuffs on Liu Chunguang’s wrists, and dragged him outside.

"Where are you taking me..." terror filled Liu Chunguang’s eyes.

"You’ll find out soon enough," one of the soldiers spoke coldly.

"Don’t... please let me go... my brother-in-law is not innocent either... his name is Wu Yanhua..." Liu Chunguang cried and begged. His brother-in-law was his last sliver of hope!

The soldiers said nothing more; after dragging Liu Chunguang into the vehicle, they drove toward the execution grounds. His crime this time was attempting to steal important documents, with the only outcome being death.

When Zhang Xiaoling and Luo Shu returned to the sales point, Shen Wei was already waiting for them. The cakes sold out in less than an afternoon that day. Moreover, in the past two days, there were continuous inquiries about whether there were any more cakes for sale.

"Director Shen, we have a total of ten pounds of cake here. Could you please check the weight and see if it’s correct?" Zhang Xiaoling said. She didn’t know how well the cakes had been selling these past days, and since Shen Wei had told her to bring only ten pounds this time, she dared not make more.

Shen Wei smiled and nodded, "Xiao Zhang, could you deliver more cakes tomorrow? This time it would be best if you could bring fifty pounds. Of course, the more, the better."

"Fifty pounds?!" Zhang Xiaoling asked excitedly, quickly calculating the price in her mind.
