"Cut the umbilical cord," Luo Shu, holding the baby, said to a visibly excited train attendant beside her.

"Okay!" The train attendant nodded, her hands trembling slightly as she looked at the umbilical cord connecting the baby’s navel and held the scissors. This was her first time doing something like this.

"Be quick," Luo Shu urged.

Luo Shu swiftly wrapped the bloodied newborn in clothes and handed it to Zhang Xiaoling, who was beside her, "You hold the baby for now; I need to attend to the mother." The placenta had not yet been delivered, and she urgently needed to help the woman expel it.

Zhang Xiaoling took the child somewhat clumsily. She had held babies before, but this soft, just-born child was something she was holding for the first time, and she felt a little scared to hold it.

After Luo Shu helped the mother deliver the placenta, she requested the train attendants to move her to their resting room. There was still a long time before the next station, and though the woman was no longer in danger, she couldn’t be left lying on the floor.

Luo Shu glanced at the bloodstain on her clothes and nodded, "That would be great, thanks." Although she had clothes in her space, it wasn’t convenient to take them out in such a situation.

"No trouble at all! I’ll be back soon," Zhang Xiaoling said, and quickly ran towards the compartment where their sleeper was located.

Luo Shu entered the washroom, and just finished washing her hands when she heard a knock on the door.

She opened the door to find Lu Hanmo standing outside. She smiled at him and took the clothes from his hand, "I’ll be quick."

After closing the washroom door, Luo Shu changed out of her bloodstained clothes. The washroom in the carriage was extremely narrow, just enough to accommodate one person.

Once dressed, Luo Shu opened the door and, with a brilliant smile, walked shoulder to shoulder with Lu Hanmo back to their compartment, "Seeing that baby land in my hands just now, I was so touched!"
