Chapter 496: Four hundred ninety-four, go home
"Shushu, I am now entering the Teleportation Array," Lu Hanmo said with a hint of excitement in his voice.
"Okay!" Luo Shu replied with a smile.
Lu Hanmo stepped into the Teleportation Array and immediately felt a wave of dizziness and pressure. However, given his current level of cultivation, these were naturally of no consequence to him.
As the dizziness subsided, Lu Hanmo found himself in front of a Thorny Forest. He swept the area with his Divine Sense and discovered that this Teleportation Array was also located at the bottom of a cliff.
Summoning his Flying Sword, he flew up the cliff, and just as Lu Hanmo landed on top, Luo Shu and Yun Han stepped out from the space.
"We’re back on Yuan Star," Luo Shu said, her face breaking into a radiant smile. She had already scanned with her Divine Sense and confirmed that the cliff was on the outskirts of Jinchen. The area was remote, which was why it was seldom visited by people.
After moving the warriors out of the space, Luo Shu threw out a handful of white powder.
Before long, the warriors awoke.
"Instructor, where are we?"
"Have we returned to Yuan Star, or are we still in The Lost Space?" Seeing the desolate place, everyone felt a bit frightened, afraid that their previous hopes had been in vain.
Lu Hanmo looked at the people around him and started to speak slowly, "We have returned to Yuan Star."
"That’s great!"
"We’re back!" The group shouted out loud in celebration.
Their cheers were so loud they startled the birds in the nearby forest, causing them to scatter and fly away.
Lu Hanmo smiled and looked back at Luo Shu, "I’ll take them back to the base to report first, Shushu. Let your family know about the situation. I will come back soon."
"Okay," Luo Shu replied with a smile.
Since Lu Hanmo and Luo Shu had both disappeared, the Lu family had been shrouded in sadness.
Zhu Huizhen pulled out a tissue and wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes. "Hanmo, Shushu, where on earth are you? Why haven’t you come back? Mom misses you so much!" Ever since Hanmo and Shushu had gone missing, she had been hoping for a miracle; that one day they would suddenly appear before her and tell her they were just on a trip and nothing bad had happened.
But as days passed, the hope in her heart grew fainter. If Hanmo and Shushu were really alive, how could they bear to let them be so heartbroken?
"Sister-in-law, don’t cry. Hanmo and the others will definitely come back," Ye Shanshan said, sniffling to console her.
Everyone advised them to accept the loss and move on, telling them that the dead cannot come back to life. But how could they possibly accept that fact? Hanmo and Shushu were not ordinary people; how could they just die like that?
The communication talisman in Zhu Huizhen’s Storage Bag suddenly started to vibrate. Thinking it was her imagination, she paid closer attention and realized it was indeed vibrating.
She hurriedly took the communication talisman out of her Storage Bag. Seeing its color, her face showed an expression of disbelief, excitedly saying, "It’s Shushu! Shanshan, it’s Shushu! It’s Shushu!" Her tears fell even harder. In that moment, she dared not activate the talisman, afraid that this was just a dream, and the greater her hopes, the greater the disappointment would be.
"Sister-in-law, then quickly answer it!" Ye Shanshan exclaimed excitedly.
Zhu Huizhen nodded her head, her hands fumbling to activate the communication talisman, and asked hastily, "Are you... are you Luo Shu..." Even if it were just a dream, it would be a happy one.
"Mom! It’s me, Luo Shu. I’m sorry for making you worry. Hanmo and I have both returned. Hanmo has gone to report back to the training camp, and he’ll be home soon."
"Good! Mom will wait for you both to come back." Zhu Huizhen said dumbly as she put down the communication talisman in her hand, looking towards Ye Shanshan, "Shanshan, don’t wake me up, I want to keep having this dream."
"Sister-in-law, this isn’t a dream, it’s real! Hanmo and the others are really coming back! I’m going to tell Dad the good news!" As Ye Shanshan spoke, she had already risen to her feet and dashed to the back yard to report the good news to Old Master Lu.
"It’s not a dream?" Zhu Huizhen extended her hand and pinched her own thigh forcefully. "Ouch! It hurts, so it’s really not a dream? It’s not a dream... that’s great... It’s not a dream... wuwuwu..." Overcome with joy, she began to cry. It was such a relief that Hanmo and the others were still alive!
Luo Qianyu’s face was ashen, and his eyes were sunken as he sat on the Flying Sword, looking up at the sky. Ever since Shushu went missing, he had never left the Devil Sea, hoping that the golden halo would appear once more, allowing him to go inside and see how Shushu and the others were doing.
Feeling his communication talisman vibrating, Luo Qianyu stretched out his hand to take it out. In recent times, his family had been contacting him every day to ask about the situation here.
"Dad! It’s Shushu, I’ve come out. Where are you right now?" Luo Qianyu hadn’t checked who was contacting him and had directly activated the communication talisman. When he heard Luo Shu’s voice coming from the talisman, he was stunned! Shushu? How could that be?
"Dad! Are you there?" Luo Shu’s voice rang out again.
"I... I’m here, have you really come back?" Luo Qianyu asked, ecstatic.
"Yes, I’m heading to the Lu family now and will go to the Divine Doctor Family first thing tomorrow morning."
"Great! I’ll head back now and inform everyone of the good news." After exchanging a few words with Luo Shu, Luo Qianyu put away the communication talisman and quickly flew towards the Divine Doctor Family on his sword.
When the Lu family members heard that Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo were safe, they were beyond excited.
They hastily had a meal prepared and summoned all the younger members of the Lu family who were outside to hurry home for a reunion. This news was like watering a tree that was about to wither, reviving it with a new lease on life.
Cai Chuchuan was in a meeting with others, discussing the memorial for Lu Hanmo and the thirty-two soldiers who had disappeared with him.
"The Guard uniforms for all the warriors have been prepared, and their families will arrive here by tomorrow."
"All the hearse decorations are completed, and arrangements at the Warrior’s Martyrium have all been made."
Cai Chuchuan nodded solemnly, "Go and check everything one more time. We absolutely must not let our heroes be wronged."
"Commander! Commander! Great news!" A series of hurried footsteps came from outside the meeting room, followed by an excited shout.
Everyone in the meeting room frowned. At such a time, what could possibly be good news that would make them happy? Moreover, they were currently dealing with an extremely somber issue.
"Reporting!" The soldier finally reached the door of the meeting room, his face wearing an excited smile.
"Keep it serious! What are you smiling about?!" Cai Chuchuan barked fiercely. Laughing at a time like this, that comrade’s awareness was severely lacking.
