Chapter 474: Four hundred seventy-two, Competition (5)
The Golden Core Cultivator led everyone to the twentieth floor, the best floor of the hotel, where those who could stay were always people of status.
"This place is so beautiful! The carpet is so exquisite!"
"Compared to where we used to live, it’s really worlds apart!"
"I’ve always heard that the Flying Cloud Hotel is luxurious, and today I finally got to see it for myself." As soon as everyone reached the twentieth floor, they were stunned by such opulence.
The Golden Core Cultivator led the group to the door of a room and pushed it open for Luo Shu, saying, "This is the room the hotel has arranged for you. Please take a look and let us know if there is anything unsatisfactory, and we can change it."
Luo Shu glanced around the room and nodded with a smile, "Thank you!"
"No need to be polite! As long as you’re satisfied, that’s all that matters. Please go into your room and rest, I’ll take them to their rooms," said the Golden Core Cultivator with a smile.
Luo Shu nodded with a smile and stepped into the room.
The facilities in this room were very complete, with an independent bathroom, a luxurious big bed, and even a Formation Display Screen, making Luo Shu feel as if she were in a luxury hotel.
After setting up a formation with Formation Flags, Luo Shu immediately took out a communication talisman to contact Lu Hanmo, but there was still no response from his end, which left her somewhat disappointed as she cut off the connection. If the communication talisman was fixed, even if she didn’t contact Hanmo, he would have contacted her. She wondered when his communication talisman would be repaired.
The communication talisman was like a cellphone; while they were all made from a template, they were not easy to repair. If one wasn’t a Talisman Crafting Grandmaster, it was simply impossible to fix. Moreover, an ordinary Talisman Crafting Grandmaster would not bother with such repairs.
She activated the communication talisman to contact Yun Han, and soon after, Yun Han’s voice came through, laced with surprise, "Luo Shu!"
"Are you participating in a competition right now?" Luo Shu asked. The arrangement for the four countries should be almost done, right!
"Just finished," Yun Han asked with a laugh, "You too, right?"
"I just got back to the hotel," Luo Shu said with a smile.
"You must be tired from today’s competition. You should rest well. I have some things to take care of right now. I’ll contact you tomorrow," Yun Han said.
"Okay! Goodbye!" Luo Shu smiled and disconnected the call. Other than Hanmo, Yun Han was the person she was most familiar with in this world. Talking to him gave her a sense of returning to Yuan Star, a feeling that made her heart suddenly find an anchor, no longer wavering and uneasy.
Yun Han looked at the lovely lady in front of him, his handsome face full of annoyance, "How did you enter my room without my permission again?" She was the sister of the sect leader of the sect he was currently in. From the day he joined Sacred Heavenly Gate, she clung to him like gum that wouldn’t come off, and it was truly more than he could bear.
"Who were you communicating with just now?" Dongfang Yanran demanded, eyeing Yun Han with a hint of accusation in her tone. His expression just now was so gentle, an expression she had never seen from him towards her. If only that tenderness were for her, she would have been overjoyed to death.
She had fallen in love with Yun Han at first sight. The moment she saw him, she knew he was the man for her, her future other half. But unexpectedly, he had another woman, and he was so gentle with her. It made her feel heartbroken, angry, and yet completely helpless!
"What’s it to you!" Yun Han said indifferently. His heart was already full, and unless he could let go one day, he would not accept any other woman. And besides, Dongfang Yanran was simply not his type.
"You are the man I love, so of course, it matters to me," Dongfang Yanran said righteously. She had always been this way—whatever she liked or disliked, she would speak openly, never one to hide her feelings or keep them secret.
"Thank you for your high regard, but I am not fortunate enough to accept. I’m going to rest now. Please leave," Yun Han said indifferently.
Dongfang Yanran walked over to the sofa and sat down, "If you don’t tell me, I won’t leave."
"Then I’ll leave," Yun Han said as he stepped toward the door.
Dongfang Yanran stood up from the sofa and stamped her foot forcefully, "You’re ruthless!" After saying that, she quickly walked out, slamming the door behind her.
Yun Han sat down on the sofa, took out a wine glass and a bottle of red wine, poured himself a drink, gently swirled the glass, took a sip, and a bitter smile formed on his lips, "The one who loves you, you don’t love, and the one you can’t let go of doesn’t love you. Oh, life!"
Luo Shu put away the communication talisman and flashed into space. She was now only one step away from a complete recovery of her cultivation. If she could restore her cultivation tonight, she would have an even better chance of winning the competition.
Upon entering the space, Luo Shu spread out top-quality Spirit Stones and arranged a Spirit Gathering Array, then once again entered the Spiritual Spring.
The night passed in the blink of an eye.
Luo Shu opened her eyes and felt her cultivation, the corners of her mouth curving up in a pleased smile. The effect of cultivating with top-quality Spirit Stones was indeed very good. Although her cultivation had not fully recovered, her strength now was even greater than when she was at the peak of Nascent Soul.
She flashed out of space and quickly freshened up.
Just after freshening up, there was a knock on the door.
Luo Shu went to open the door and saw a hotel attendant standing outside.
At that moment, he was pushing a cart full of delicious food and smiling at her, "Good morning! This is the breakfast specially prepared for you by the Flying Cloud Hotel."
"Great!" Luo Shu stepped aside to make room for the attendant to enter the room.
The attendant pushed the cart in, arranged the items on the table one by one, and said to Luo Shu with a smile, "Please enjoy your meal!"
"Thank you!" Luo Shu smiled and nodded, then sat down at the table. If she didn’t know that this was another world, she might have thought she had returned to her former life.
"Luo Shu, are you there?" A gentle knock on the door came from outside, along with the voice of Yi Xueying.
Luo Shu put down the spoon in her hand, stood up, and went to open the door. The competition wasn’t going to start until nine, and it was just past seven in the morning.
"Luo Shu, have you had breakfast yet? Let’s go downstairs to the restaurant for breakfast," Yi Xueying said with a smile as Luo Shu opened the door. She had slept so comfortably last night; it was her first time sleeping in such a nice room.
"I’m in the middle of eating. Come in and join me," Luo Shu said with a smile.
"You’ve got breakfast in your room?" Yi Xueying entered the room, looking envious, and her eyes lit up when she saw the breakfast on the table, "So much food, the champion’s treatment really is different. Then I won’t be polite." She sat down opposite Luo Shu, laughing.
"Help yourself," Luo Shu said with a nod and a smile.
"Mmm!" Yi Xueying happily replied and took a bite of cake, her face breaking into a satisfied smile.
Today’s first event was Artifact Refining. Luo Shu knew nothing about Artifact Refining, and naturally, she joined the rest of the audience in the stands, watching the competition on the stage.
The Upper Pavilion had selected three disciples to participate in the Artifact Refining Competition this time: one from the Upper Pavilion’s own disciples, and the other two were selected through the sect’s recent recruitment.
"How come that Luo Shu from the Upper Pavilion isn’t competing today?"
"I thought she would be up there too. Without her, the Upper Pavilion might end up in the last place again."
"That’s not necessarily the case. Wasn’t Mo Lixu from the Upper Pavilion too yesterday?"
"The Upper Pavilion really has some surprises this time." Discussions from the audience could be heard nearby.
Yi Xueying’s lips curled up into a smile when she heard the audience’s discussions. She had participated in several preliminaries of the competition between four countries before, but this was the first time she heard people discussing the Upper Pavilion. In the past, even if there was discussion, it all came from a disdainful, dismissive stance.
"Luo Shu, thank you!" Yi Xueying turned her head to look at Luo Shu and smiled gratefully. Without her, the Upper Pavilion definitely would not have received such treatment this time, let alone be considered esteemed guests by the hotel.
Luo Shu shook her head with a smile, "There’s nothing to thank me for, we’re all from the same sect, aren’t we?" She strove to win for the sake of meeting Hanmo; otherwise, she wouldn’t have exerted herself to such an extent.
While they were talking, Luo Shu felt her communication talisman vibrate. The only ones who could contact her here were Yun Han and Hanmo. Since Hanmo’s communication talisman was broken, it was more likely to be Yun Han.
Pulling out the communication talisman and seeing the color, a look of surprise and joy flickered in Luo Shu’s eyes. It was Hanmo!
"I need to take a communication," Luo Shu said joyfully and then left the crowd.
Finding a secluded corner, Luo Shu quickly activated the communication talisman and exclaimed, "Hanmo!"
"Shushu! Are you alright?" Lu Hanmo’s voice came through the communication talisman, tinged with urgency. He had been worried sick when Shushu hadn’t answered for so long.
"I’m fine, how about you?" Luo Shu’s face beamed with a radiant smile. Hearing his voice felt wonderful!
"I’m good! I just miss you so much," Lu Hanmo’s tone was filled with deep longing. He was ecstatic to know that Shushu was in this world too. He wished he could fly to her side immediately.
"I miss you too!" Luo Shu said, her smile shimmering radiantly, but tears involuntarily welled up in her eyes. The moment she had lost him, she had felt utterly hopeless, and she never wanted to experience that despair again in her life.
"How did you manage to find this place?" Lu Hanmo asked. He had been so happy to find out he hadn’t died, but the thought of being trapped in this strange world, and the idea that Shushu might be heartbroken over his disappearance, had filled him with urgency, yet he felt powerless. He had decided to participate in the competition between the four nations to secure a map which, he had heard, marked the location of a Teleportation Array leading to Yuan Star.
