Chapter 462: Four hundred sixty-one, contact

Luo Shu took a deep breath, bit her teeth hard, and tremblingly activated the communication talisman. She had to face what was inevitable.

One second, two seconds, three seconds... Those few short seconds seemed as long as a century to Luo Shu at that moment.

Hanmo, please receive it! Hanmo, can you hear my call? Hanmo, I beg you! Luo Shu was shouting in her heart incessantly.

Time ticked away, second by second, but there was still no response. Despair began to rise in Luo Shu’s heart; at that moment, she seemed to hear the sound of her own heart shattering.

She closed her eyes in despair, tears falling uncontrollably, landing on the back of her hand, on the ground, and instantly disappearing into the soil.

"Shushu! Is that you?" An excited, surprised, exhilarated, and incredulous voice came from the communication talisman she held in her hand.

"Hanmo!" Hearing that all-too-familiar voice, Luo Shu couldn’t help but burst into tears. He was alive, he wasn’t dead, thank goodness! Thank goodness!

"Shushu, don’t cry, it’s all my fault, I shouldn’t have made you sad, I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry..." Lu Hanmo’s voice was trembling, thick with the sound of nasal congestion and sobbing.

"As long as you’re alive, it’s all that matters! I’m in Tianchi Country, where are you?" Luo Shu’s tear-stained face bloomed with a brilliant smile. At that moment, the aura of sadness surrounding her dispersed, and she seemed to come to life, radiating vitality from every part of her being, no longer filled with the lifelessness she had shown before.

"I’m in Flame Country, Shushu, wait for me, I... my communication talisman seems to be broken... Shushu... I’ve joined a sect to participate in the Four Nations..." Lu Hanmo’s words suddenly stopped.

Luo Shu looked at the communication talisman in her hand, her smile growing more and more splendid, "It’s so good that you’re alive! As long as you’re alive, there will come a day when we meet again." She didn’t know what Hanmo meant by the Four Nations, but since Hanmo had joined a sect, it must have something to do with the sect.

Her heart was calm now, her mood had lightened! Now all she needed was to wait for her cultivation to recover slowly. And Yun Han, where was he now?

With that thought, Luo Shu activated the communication talisman once again.

It didn’t take long for Yun Han’s anxious voice to come through, "Luo Shu, how are you doing now?"

"I’m fine, sorry to have worried you, where are you now?" Luo Shu said with a sense of guilt.

"I’m in Shuiji Country, where are you?" Yun Han’s heart relaxed upon hearing that Luo Shu was alright.

"I’m in Tianchi Country." Recalling what Lu Hanmo had said earlier, Luo Shu asked, "Yun Han, do you know if the sects have any activities coming up soon?"

"Yes, the Four Nations are selecting twenty disciples from each sect within their own country to participate in the Four Nations contest. The country, sect, and the first-place winner of the competition will all receive corresponding rewards. I just saw the notice and was actually about to join a sect," Yun Han explained. He naturally had no interest in such competitions before hearing from Luo Shu. Now that he had her news and she had asked about the competition, he was naturally going to participate.

"Okay, then we’ll meet during the competition. Oh, and Hanmo is here too," Luo Shu said joyfully.

"That’s wonderful!" Yun Han said in surprise. He remembered the despair he saw on her face when he arrived at the Devil’s Sea Triangle; it had pained him deeply, and he understood that aside from Lu Hanmo, no one else could take that place in her heart. With Lu Hanmo, her heart was content; without him, even if she were alive, she would be no more than an empty shell. He truly envied Lu Hanmo for receiving her complete love, but he was not jealous; as long as she was happy, that was enough. As for himself, he would watch over her silently as a friend.

Luo Shu put away the communication talisman, dispelled the formation, and saw Xia Mu standing outside the door. She gave him a radiant smile, "Xia Mu, I will make you a delicious meal tonight."

Xia Mu looked at Luo Shu in astonishment. "Sister, has something happy happened?" The current Luo Shu felt completely different than before; the sad air that once seemed to emanate from inside her was gone, as if she had become a different person.

Luo Shu smiled and nodded, "I found the person I was looking for." She was truly grateful that she had come here; had she hesitated then, she might have missed Hanmo for life.

"That’s great!" Xia Mu exclaimed joyfully. Seeing her sister happy made her equally joyful.

Luo Shu waved her hand, and a pile of food appeared in the kitchen.

Xia Mu’s eyes instantly widened like copper bells, her gaze filled with shock, "Sister, what’s going on?" Could her sister really be a fairy?

"I am a cultivator, the kind the village chief spoke of," Luo Shu said with a smile.

"My God!" Xia Mu looked at Luo Shu in disbelief. Her sister was actually a cultivator of legend; it was utterly astonishing!

Luo Shu curled her lips into a smile and with another wave of her hand, many more things appeared in the kitchen, including tables, chairs, and a gas stove for cooking.

Xia Mu stretched out her hand and pinched her own face hard, "Ow!" It was too painful to be a dream.

Luo Shu watched Xia Mu amusedly, but her hands were skillfully preparing the dishes; soon, the kitchen was filled with an aroma that made one’s mouth water.

"It smells so good! What’s being cooked?"

"This doesn’t smell like bear meat, but it smells even better than bear meat."

"This young lady is really talented and skilled."

As Uncle Agen walked into the kitchen, followed by five or six other villagers holding vegetables and rice, they all looked surprised. Xia Mu had sent them bear meat early in the day, and they felt it improper to accept it without giving something in return. As soon as they had returned from Xiayou Valley, they brought some rice and vegetables from their homes as a gesture of thanks.

Seeing so many new items in the kitchen, everyone was taken aback. They knew the situation of Xia Mu’s house well; how could there be tables, chairs, and so much food?

Coming back to their senses, Uncle Agen grinned and shook a small bag of rice in his hand, "Girl, thank you for the bear meat last night, and for the big piece you gave me today. My family doesn’t have much to offer, but please accept this rice as a small token of my appreciation."

"And here’s mine, these sprouts are really tasty."

"This is from me, thank you for the bear meat." Everyone put the things they brought on the ground, glanced at the dishes on the table, and swallowed their saliva. Xia Mu really struck gold by finding this girl.

"If you all don’t mind, please stay and have dinner here," Luo Shu turned to Xia Mu who was still standing in astonishment, "Xia Mu, go inform the rest of the village to come over and eat together." She could tell that these villagers took good care of Xia Mu, and she wanted to repay them on behalf of Xia Mu.

"Oh! Okay!" Xia Mu nodded hurriedly and quickly ran out.
