Chapter 454: Four hundred and fifty-three, return to the country with honor

"Report to the officials!" Luo Shu said to Meng Yujuan beside her.

"Oh, okay!" Meng Yujuan snapped back to reality and nodded, then ran outside. When she heard about tomb raiders, she thought of an ancient tomb at her family’s place, where all those who entered never came out, deterring any further attempts from the thieves.

"Miss, surely you don’t have to be so ruthless? I’ve already begged you with all humility, can’t you spare our lives just this once?" asked the slightly overweight man. It was currently a severe crackdown period, and if they were caught, they might never get out in their lifetimes. The artifacts they had stolen were of such importance that possessing just one could lead to a lifetime behind bars.

Luo Shu cast a cold glance over the crowd. She couldn’t be bothered to waste more words on them; she didn’t want her company’s reputation tarnished by these tomb raiders.

The slightly overweight man signaled with his eyes to the three beside him, and they nodded in understanding.

One of the taller men lunged at Luo Shu immediately, while the other three quickly took the opportunity to flee.

However, they realized they had miscalculated; the tall man only managed to gesture before he was kicked away by Luo Shu, and the others didn’t even manage a single step before being floored by her series of consecutive kicks.

"My dear lady, please let us go this time, I’ll definitely find a way to repay you in the future," the slightly overweight man begged, clutching his still-aching stomach as he looked at Luo Shu imploringly. They were no match for her, and begging was all they could do.

"Yes, we will surely repay you, just spare us this once!"

"Please let us go, I have an eighty-year-old mother at home, and three little children waiting to be fed. I can’t be locked up."

At that moment, hurried footsteps sounded from outside the door.

Luo Shu shrugged her shoulders and said with a smirk, "It seems it’s too late now, you can only blame your own bad luck."

Meng Yujuan entered with six constables. She had already reported to the authorities, so as soon as she stepped out of the alley, she saw several constables searching nearby.

Four of the constables stepped forward and handcuffed the four men, while the other two entered the house and released the four girls who had been tricked by the men.

"Thank you all! For bravely doing the right thing and ridding us of these criminals," expressed a middle-aged constable as he stepped forward to thank Luo Shu and Meng Yujuan.

"No need to thank us! We were just doing what’s right," replied Meng Yujuan, somewhat embarrassed. She had never been thanked by a constable before.

Luo Shu smiled faintly and pulled Meng Yujuan out of the door. If it hadn’t affected her company’s honor, she would not have intervened.

After walking a distance, Meng Yujuan said, "Just now, when I heard those tomb raiders, it reminded me of an ancient tomb from our place. That tomb is very mysterious. In the past, many tomb raiders entered but none came out alive, and in recent years, none have dared to enter."

"Most ancient tombs have traps, and one careless step can leave you trapped inside forever," Luo Shu said with a smile. Those tombs could not be excavated by later generations, and they were not just about traps; it’s very likely that they also contained the Five Elements Formation.

"That ancient tomb at our place is really strange. It’s said that on full moon nights, sounds similar to a monster’s cry can be heard," Meng Yujuan added, shivering a bit at the thought of the legends surrounding the tomb.

"Oh?" Luo Shu raised an eyebrow, intrigued. Once Hanmo returned, she thought of visiting the tomb with him; it might lead to an opportunity.

"Luo Shu, I read in the newspaper this morning that the crisis in Country Y has been resolved by our Yan Country’s Guard Squad. Lu the War God is really amazing!" Meng Yujuan said excitedly, relieved that Lu Hanmo was unharmed.

Luo Shu nodded with a smile, "I saw the newspaper." Tomorrow, Hanmo will accept the Queen of Country Y’s awards, and the day after tomorrow, he would be able to fly back to Yan Country.

"Luo Shu, do you think vampires really exist in this world?" Meng Yujuan asked curiously. She had always felt that vampires, like the ghosts within Yan Country, were fictional, invented by people and did not truly exist.

Luo Shu laughed and nodded, "Of course, they do."

"How can you be so sure?" Meng Yujuan asked in surprise. She had heard that Jess returned to his country because his grandfather was bitten by a bat and became a vampire, but she still couldn’t believe it was true. She wouldn’t believe in such things unless she saw them with her own eyes.

"I’ve seen them, and even kept a few," Luo Shu said, half-jokingly.

"Get out of here!" Meng Yujuan laughed and playfully punched Luo Shu on the shoulder.

The two joked and laughed as they returned to their dormitory, and everyone greeted Luo Shu joyfully. The news of the Yan Country Guard Squad successfully helping Country Y had spread, and they all shared in Luo Shu’s happiness.

"Lu the War God is really amazing!"

"Yeah! He really made our Yan Country proud in front of the entire world."

"So many countries couldn’t solve the issue, but only our Yan Country managed, Lu the War God is awesome!"

"Luo Shu, Lu the War God should be coming home triumphantly soon, right?"

Luo Shu nodded with a smile, "I hear he’s coming back the day after tomorrow."

"Can we come to pick him up at the airport? We’d like to come with you to congratulate Lu Hanmo in person," everyone said eagerly, hoping to be the first to congratulate Lu Hanmo upon his return.

"Certainly!" Luo Shu smiled and nodded.

"Great! That’s settled then, I’ll ask for the day off tomorrow."

"We’ll all ask for the day off," everyone said happily.

Lu Hanmo, leading his squad, boarded the plane back to Yan Country amid the enthusiastic farewells of Country Y’s Queen, officials, and citizens.

At this moment, Lu Hanmo and his squad were not only heroes of Yan Country, but they were also heroes in the eyes of the people of Country Y. Without them, Country Y would not have overcome the crisis so quickly. Therefore, the entire nation of Country Y was immensely grateful to Lu Hanmo and his team.

"It feels so surreal; this is the first time I’ve been glorified like this," someone remarked.

"Instructor, thank you! This honor is all thanks to you," said another.

"It is the instructor who made us national heroes and who ensured our safe and triumphant return. Let’s all thank the instructor together." The entire group of soldiers stood up and bowed in unison to Lu Hanmo.
