Chapter 447: Four hundred forty-six, castle

Everyone looked worried as they turned their gaze towards Luo Shu when she returned. All they could do now was to stay with her, help her relax, and keep her from dwelling on Lu Hanmo’s situation.

"Luo Shu, let’s go shopping. I saw a new counter in the mall, the clothes there are beautiful," one suggested.

"After shopping, we can have dinner and watch a movie. It’s the weekend tomorrow, so we can stay up late," another added.

Luo Shu smiled at them and said, "I won’t go, you guys have fun. I have some things I need to take care of." She knew they were all concerned about her.

"Come with us, Luo Shu. It’s been a long time since we went shopping together," they urged.

"Yeah, I know a place that makes delicious fish head soup," chimed in another.

"Maybe next time. I really have things to do today," Luo Shu apologized with a smile and went to pack her luggage beside her bed.

The crowd exchanged worried glances. Since Luo Shu had said she had things to do, they couldn’t follow her. All they could hope for was that Luo Shu wouldn’t overthink things.

Upon leaving school, Luo Shu immediately found a secluded corner and flew towards Country Y by sword control. It should be noon when she arrives in Country Y.

It took just over three hours for Luo Shu to arrive above Country Y. She swept the area with her divine sense and landed on a secluded mountain range not too far from Lu Hanmo’s camp.

Lu Hanmo, who was resting with his eyes closed, felt a divine sense sweeping towards him. A slight smile curled up at the corner of his mouth, and he opened his eyes and sat up from the bed. His Shushu had come!

Seeing Lu Hanmo hurrying out, the resting guard members were a bit surprised.

Lu Hanmo quickly left the camp and ran towards the direction where Luo Shu was.

From a distance, he saw a graceful figure standing by the lake, enjoying the scenery.

"Shushu!" Lu Hanmo ran up excitedly and embraced Luo Shu tightly. He had missed her so much!

"Hanmo!" Luo Shu wrapped her arms around Lu Hanmo’s waist, her head gently nuzzling into his embrace. She liked the sense of security his arms provided.

The two held each other in silence, savoring the comfort and sweetness of the moment.

"Hanmo, did you find any clues?" Luo Shu lifted her head and looked at Lu Hanmo, her eyes smiling as they admired his handsome and resolute features.

Lu Hanmo gently stroked Luo Shu’s soft hair and shook his head with a smile, "Those bats are very cunning. The moment they sense something is wrong, they immediately retreat. During the day, they just vanish without a trace." He had been searching with his divine sense for the past few days, but there hadn’t been any progress.

"Let’s go to a place and have a look. Perhaps we’ll find some clues there," Luo Shu suggested, stepping back from his embrace and taking his hand.

She wasn’t familiar with Country Y, having only visited once in her previous life, and that was for travel. The destination of that trip had been the famous haunted Weird Spirit Emu Castle in Country Y.

There, just like the castles depicted in stories, was dark and mysterious, with massive grey walls and pointed rooftops. Even in daylight, one felt an eerie and terrifying sensation upon entering.

In her past life, when she and others entered the castle, she was captivated by an oil painting in the great hall. By the time she came to her senses, the tourists she was with had gone elsewhere.

While searching for them, she accidentally wandered into the basement. At that moment, a swarm of bats suddenly flew out, startling her.

However, she didn’t pay much attention to it at the time. Now that she thought about it, perhaps Weird Spirit Emu Castle was a dwelling place for the Blood Clan. They might have hidden during the day in the castle’s basement or in other dark places to sleep, which is why visitors to the castle wouldn’t notice their presence.

She had seen one or two vampire movies in her previous life, and in those movies, vampires mostly hid inside castles, only awakening and leaving to roam in search of their prey when the night was still and people were at rest.

Weird Spirit Emu Castle, surrounded by its mysterious legends, was uninhabited.

Walking into the castle, even though it was still daylight, Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo still felt a chilling sensation.

"Hanmo, let’s split up and search," Luo Shu said. She had just used her divine sense and found that this castle was guarded by a natural formation that blocked the inward scanning of divine sense.

"Inform me immediately if you find anything," Lu Hanmo nodded. He was quite confident in her current strength.

Luo Shu nodded and made her way to the basement of the castle, following her memory.

Passing through the silent hall, she once again saw the oil painting she had seen in her previous life. It rested quietly at the center of the hall, spotless even without anyone wiping it, as if someone cleaned it regularly.

The painting depicted a man from ancient times with an exceptionally handsome and gentle appearance, red hair tied behind his head, dressed in a knight’s robe that symbolized nobility and honor. Even though he was just a figure on canvas, one could still feel the powerful aura emanating from him.

But what truly captured her attention were his eyes — rare and purple, exuding an extremely mysterious and peculiar feeling.

Redirecting her gaze, Luo Shu continued forward. After about ten minutes, a wooden door appeared before her. In her past life, she had thought the group had gone through here because the door was open.

Entering the wooden door, what she saw was not much different from her past life; still, a long and eerie staircase that gave off a sense of somber chill.

Down the staircase, at its end, was a vast wine cellar. Barrels filled with wines were neatly arranged, and the air was thick with a rich aroma.

Moving forward, at the end of the wine cellar appeared another wooden door that was locked. Luo Shu tried for a long time but still could not push it open, about to use her spiritual power.

"Shushu, have you found anything?" Lu Hanmo’s distinctive and clear voice came from behind her.

"I suspect there’s something strange behind this wooden door," Luo Shu turned and spoke to Lu Hanmo as he approached. She hadn’t reached this place in her previous life; she had encountered the bats as soon as she entered the staircase.

Even though she had practiced ancient martial arts in her past life, she was still a girl after all; encountering those bats, she did not continue down and instead went out of the castle the same way she came in. These memories had been long forgotten by her, but when she was above the country Y and saw this castle, she was reminded of her past life’s experience.
