Chapter 419: Four hundred eighteen, fortunate

Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo, holding hands, walked through the garden. Just moments ago, under the insistence of Lu Hanmo’s mother, their wedding date was set for the twenty-sixth of August. Now everyone was in the living room, discussing the various arrangements for the wedding.

"Shushu, do you still remember the first time we met?" Lu Hanmo asked with a smile as he looked at Luo Shu. The mere thought that in a few days she would become his wife filled his heart with excitement and joy that words could hardly describe.

"Yes! That day I ran into a few robbers, and you suddenly appeared and saved me." Luo Shu smiled at the memory. Time had flown so swiftly, nearly two years had passed since then. She remembered clearly, she had just been reborn a few days prior, and at the moment she met him, she felt as if she was dreaming. That’s why she recklessly threw herself into his arms, because she couldn’t believe it was real.

"That day, I originally intended to send Mo Shaoze to fetch the Ginseng for me, but I am glad that I went instead." Lu Hanmo gazed tenderly at Luo Shu with his deep eyes. If he hadn’t gone that day, they might have missed each other completely.

"I’m also grateful for those thugs because otherwise, you wouldn’t have appeared to rescue me." Luo Shu chuckled as she leaned into Lu Hanmo’s embrace, resting her head against his chest. She was even more grateful that she had taken out a Ginseng root that day, otherwise, Hanmo certainly wouldn’t have gone to Fangting Town, and they might not have met. Though they would surely have met eventually, they would have missed out on so much time together.

Lu Hanmo wrapped his arms tightly around Luo Shu, "Shushu, I am thankful that you came back here, giving me another chance to be with you."

"I’m grateful as well, for having this opportunity," Luo Shu replied, her smile beaming. She was full of gratitude towards whoever had made this arrangement for her.

"Oh no, I’m going to get styes from all this sweetness." A childish voice came from the side.

Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo turned to look, and saw Luo Qianyi standing not far away, covering his eyes. However, through the wide gaps between his fingers, they could see his sparkling eyes, bright as black grapes.

Luo Shu stepped out of Lu Hanmo’s embrace and in a flash, was in front of Luo Qianyi, pinching his chubby cheeks, "Let me see if you really got a stye."

"Ow! Ow! Ow! Let go!" Luo Qianyi yelled. He had planned to tease them and run away, but he didn’t get the chance to escape. Strength was indeed a fatal flaw.

"Will you dare to tease us again next time?" Luo Shu looked at the adorable little boy with a teasing smile, with no intention of letting go.

"I was wrong! Won’t do it again, okay? Sister!" Luo Qianyi pleaded, batting his big round eyes at Luo Shu. A gentleman’s revenge can wait ten years, and when you have a baby, I’ll pinch back.

"Are you plotting something naughty, huh?" Luo Shu narrowed her eyes, looking threateningly at Luo Qianyi. She knew her little third uncle too well; he appeared innocent but was scheming inside.

"No! No! Definitely not! I swear!" Luo Qianyi hurriedly raised his hand, extending three fingers. She had seen through his slightest thoughts—she was impressive!

"No repeats!" Luo Shu said with a laugh, retracting her hand.

Luo Qianyi stuck his tongue out at them and ran off toward the distance, "I’m going to wash my eyes now!"

"That rascal!" Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo shook their heads and chuckled in unison.

In the Disciple Court, cheers and applause were incessant.

Today was the day of the competition between five small teams. On this day of each month, they would hold such a contest.

The victorious team would receive a reward from the clan, while the losing team would be punished, such as cleaning the Disciple Court for a month. The Disciple Court was vast, so everyone was giving their all to win the competition.

Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo, accompanied by Lu Zhengyang and Zhu Huizhen, entered the Disciple Court and were immediately infected by the atmosphere. They saw two disciples on stage competing in the art of Artifact Refining.

"What are they doing?" Zhu Huizhen curiously asked. She had only recently been introduced to True Cultivation, so there were many aspects she didn’t understand.

"They’re having an Artifact Refining competition. In True Cultivation, besides the improvement of one’s own strength, there are several other aspects such as Alchemy, Artifact Refining, Talisman Crafting, and Formation. The Flying Swords we rode when we came were crafted by Artifact Refiners," Luo Shu explained.

"So, are they crafting Flying Swords now?" Zhu Huizhen watched the two on stage with eager anticipation. She really wanted to see how a Flying Sword was made.

"Their level isn’t high enough to craft Flying Swords yet. They might be crafting Disguise Masks or general offensive weapons," Luo Shu said. These clan disciples learning Artifact Refining were very talented, but they had been practicing for only a short time. Their current level was already quite commendable.

Zhu Huizhen nodded, somewhat understanding, and watched the two on stage intently. Regardless of what they were crafting, she found it very impressive.

Lu Zhengyang and Zhu Huizhen shared similar thoughts. Ever since being introduced to True Cultivation, he was full of curiosity. It was a rare opportunity to witness it firsthand today, and he intended to observe closely.

The two clan disciples on stage were intensely focused on the Artifact Refining Furnaces in front of them, occasionally adding some materials to the furnaces.

The disciples watching from below were cheering and rooting for them, anticipating the outcome. Crafting an artifact was a task that allowed no room for error; the slightest deviation could lead to failure. Hence, strong mental fortitude was essential.

Time ticked away by the second, and the two on stage were completely absorbed in their work.

"Clack!" A light sound came from the furnace before one of the clan disciples.

Then everyone saw an artifact flying out of the furnace and into the hands of that disciple—a delicately crafted silver-colored mask.

"Luo Yah finished refining first; our team is bound to win this time." Cheers erupted from Luo Yah’s team.

At the same time, the other clan disciple also completed his artifact, which turned out to be a Binding Immortal Rope.

"Luo Ling finished as well—let’s go, Luo Ling! We are sure to win!" Luo Ling’s team also cheered jubilantly.

The elder in charge of judging approached and examined the artifacts crafted by the two before announcing, "The Artifact Mask has a level one grade with three shape-shifting uses. The Binding Immortal Rope also has a level one grade, usable three times. Luo Yah finished a step ahead in time, and the winner is Luo Yah."

As the elder’s announcement concluded, Luo Yah’s team erupted into excited cheers, "Luo Yah has won! Luo Yah is invincible!"
