Chapter 396: Three hundred ninety-five, the end

Luo Xiuran shook his head, "Since that time, he has not come again."

"Shushu, do you think that the pollen from the Nascent Soul Fruit has anything to do with the Feng Family?" Luo Xiuran asked with a frown. Every time he thought of how Shushu almost lost her cultivation, he wished he could capture the culprit and flay them alive.

Luo Shu shook her head, pondering for a moment before saying, "The other party knows I have returned, they will definitely make a move against me; we might as well wait and watch, and take them all in one swoop when they make their move."

"Good!" everyone agreed.

After chatting with everyone for a while and distributing the Storage Bags she had prepared for them, Luo Shu said her goodbyes and left the Divine Doctor Family.

She still had a lot to do in the next couple of days; her godparents must be worried sick about her disappearance, and then there were her roommates. So, she planned to visit them over the next few days.

Returning to her home in Jinchen, Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo entered the space.

They sat next to the Spiritual Spring, nestled close together, chatting.

"Now that you are going back to the Guard, we won’t see each other for a long time again." Luo Shu looked at Lu Hanmo unwillingly. Even though she had been with him day and night for so long, she still couldn’t bear to be apart from him.

Lu Hanmo gently stroked Luo Shu’s hair, his eyes also full of reluctance, "I asked your father for your hand in marriage today, and he has agreed to give you to me next month." He planned to take action first and ask for forgiveness later, marrying Shushu before anything else.

"You’re so bad! Aren’t you afraid my dad will come back and beat you?" Luo Shu laughed as she looked at Lu Hanmo. Her father was in the True Cultivation World now, and he definitely wouldn’t be able to return next month.

"First, I’ll marry you and bring you home, then I’ll apologize to him later with a humble request for forgiveness," Lu Hanmo laughed. He wasn’t willing to wait another year or two to marry Shushu when he had the chance now, he had to seize it.

"Aren’t you afraid my dad might come back early?" Luo Shu raised an eyebrow, teasing him with a smile.

"I asked Xiao Yao about it, and he said the Boundless Sea beast tide won’t start for another half month," Lu Hanmo laughed. Thinking about being able to marry her soon, his heart was filled with excitement and joy.

"You even inquired about that?" Luo Shu looked at Lu Hanmo incredulously, yet her heart was overflowing with sweetness and happiness.

Lu Hanmo lowered his head and affectionately nuzzled Luo Shu’s cute nose with his own, "Don’t you want to become my wife sooner?"

"Yes!" Luo Shu didn’t deny it, nodding with a smile. Whether in her past life or in this one, her greatest wish was to become his wife.

"I’m so looking forward to that day arriving sooner," Lu Hanmo whispered, gently kissing Luo Shu’s red lips. He truly wished he could marry her right then and bring her home to become his wife.

Outside the window, the Summer Breeze gently blew, and the cicadas incessantly chirped in the trees, causing an unavoidable touch of irritation and restlessness.

Ma Yanni, feeling irritable, put down her textbook. Even with the electric fan blowing continuously, she couldn’t settle down. Zhao Zhiheng, though he hadn’t divorced her, had not come looking for her since that incident, as if she didn’t exist at all.

"Knock, knock, knock!" The door was gently tapped.

Ma Yanni stepped forward, opened the door, and when she saw the person outside, she paused for a moment before quickly reaching out to close the door, but the other person had already come in.

"Teacher Ma, how have you been?" Luo Shu closed the door, looking at Ma Yanni with a cold smirk.

"How did you get here?" Ma Yanni asked, feeling somewhat guilty. After she had put that medicine powder on the test papers, Luo Shu had never returned to school. Had someone not specifically requested leave on behalf of Luo Shu, she would have thought that Luo Shu had already been poisoned to death.

She didn’t know the effect of that medicine powder, but if it really had killed Luo Shu, she would have felt uneasy at heart. After all, she had never killed anyone.

"Don’t want to see me? Did you think I had been poisoned to death?" Luo Shu sat down to one side and started twirling a steel pen in her hand. Hanmo was originally going to confront Ma Yanni on her behalf, but Luo Shu felt that it would be better if she handled this matter herself.

"What do you mean? I don’t understand," Ma Yanni evasively said, avoiding Luo Shu’s eyes with her heart pounding.

"You don’t dare to admit what you’ve done?" Luo Shu scoffed with derision.

"I didn’t do anything, you can’t slander me," Ma Yanni denied. After all, Luo Shu had no evidence that could prove it was she who had done it.

Luo Shu put down the steel pen and took out a jade bottle, placing it on the table, "This holds the same medicine powder from that time; if you dare to touch it, I won’t hold it against you."

Ma Yanni looked at the jade bottle on the table; her body uncontrollably began to tremble, "I...I don’t know what you’re talking about, just get out! You’re not welcome here."

Luo Shu let out a cold laugh, "Afraid now? Want to know what happens when you’re exposed to this medicine powder? You’ll be in such pain that it feels like dying every day, worse than death itself, and your skin will slowly rot away until you’re reduced to a skeleton."

"Stop talking! Please stop talking!" Ma Yanni screamed frantically, shaking her head as she covered her ears with her hands.

"Teacher Ma, look at me now. It’s all because of you that I turned out like this," Luo Shu’s voice haunted Ma Yanni, echoing in her ears.

"I don’t want to look! I don’t want to look! Go away! Go away!" Ma Yanni desperately shook her head, eyes tightly shut, refusing to look. But her eyes uncontrollably sprang open against her will.

"Ah!" On seeing Luo Shu’s appearance clearly, Ma Yanni let out a terrified scream, a chill running from the soles of her feet to her head. She wanted to faint, but for some reason, she couldn’t, not even able to close her eyes.

At that moment, Luo Shu in front of her had turned into a bloodstained skeleton slowly advancing toward her.

"I’m wrong! I admit my mistake! Please let me go... I beg of you, please let me go... Please..." Ma Yanni kept stepping backward until her back hit the wall behind her; with nowhere else to go, she finally stopped.

But the skeleton kept approaching her until it stood in front of her, coldly laughing as its fleshless hands reached out and grasped her neck.

"Ugh!" Ma Yanni tried to scream but no sound came out; she attempted to struggle but she couldn’t, only able to watch in terror as the skeleton in front of her kept coldly laughing at her.

Ma Yanni’s breathing grew more rapid; her face had already lost all its color, as pale as a ghastly spirit. Finally, her eyes rolled back, and she fainted as she had wished.

With a cold glance at Ma Yanni, who had passed out on the ground, Luo Shu turned and vanished from the spot. Having been affected by her Hallucination Powder, from now on, Ma Yanni would forever live in the nightmare she had created for herself, until the moment of her death.
