Chapter 378: Three hundred seventy-seven, profit

Luo Shu put down her cup and looked at everyone, "I have something to tell all of you."

Everyone nodded and turned their attention to Luo Shu.

"Starting from today, I’m not going to be staying in the dormitory any longer," Luo Shu said. She really liked living in the dormitory, the fun of mingling with everyone, the laughter and the jokes, but now that the enemy had come knocking on her door. If she continued to live in the dormitory, it was very likely that she might put everyone else in danger.

"Why?"

"Yeah, why did you suddenly make this decision?" Everyone looked at Luo Shu with confusion, waiting for her answer.

After hesitating for a moment, Luo Shu said, "Actually, the real reason why Ouyang Yi came looking for me wasn’t to challenge my medical skills, but to take my life."

"What?!" Everyone looked at Luo Shu in shock, disbelief written all over their faces.

Luo Shu smiled at everyone, "He told me this himself. So, for your safety, I must move out." In the eyes of cultivators, human life is as insignificant as grass; as long as it serves their purpose, they couldn’t care less about others’ lives.

"Isn’t it more dangerous for you to move out alone? If you live with us, we can protect you together."

"Yeah, how can we feel at ease with you living alone?"

"We’re not scared, Luo Shu, just stay with us."

"I knew that Ouyang Yi was no good!"

Luo Shu shook her head with a smile, "I’ll be fine, don’t worry. And it’s not like I won’t be going to school, I’ll still come back to the dormitory to see you after school."

"Then you have to come back often, otherwise we’ll miss you."

"At least come back every two days, or else we’ll come and kidnap you from the Medical Department."

"Yujuan, I’m so envious that you’re in the same class as Luo Shu."

Luo Shu reached into her bag and took out several Protective Amulet Pendants, handing them out to everyone, "Wear these on you, and they will keep you safe." These amulets were newly made by her, not only did they offer protection, but they would also attack on their own when danger was nearby.

"Where did you get these amulets? They’re so pretty!"

"I didn’t know you believed in this stuff, haha..."

"Then I won’t be polite," everyone said as they took the Protective Amulet Pendants from Luo Shu’s hands, wearing them around their necks and feeling an inexplicable sense of security.

After parting with everyone, Luo Shu returned to her house at Jinchen.

"Luo Shu!"

As soon as Luo Shu got home, she saw Yang Mujing lying on his balcony, waving to her with a smile, "Long time no see!"

"Wait a moment, I have something to tell you," Yang Mujing said before turning around and running back into the house, and soon he appeared at Luo Shu’s place.

"Let’s talk inside," Luo Shu said with a smile, gesturing toward the house.

"Okay!" Yang Mujing replied with a nod and a smile.

"What would you like to drink? Tea or water?" Luo Shu asked after walking into the house.

"Don’t bother yourself; I have something to tell you. Let’s sit down and talk," Yang Mujing said, pointing at the sofa.

Luo Shu nodded with a smile and sat down on the sofa with Yang Mujing.

"Luo Shu, do you know how much profit our restaurant made last month?" Yang Mujing asked excitedly.

"I’m not sure," Luo Shu replied. She had never considered getting involved with the restaurant’s revenue.

Yang Mujing glared at Luo Shu, "You are the owner of the restaurant; can’t you show a little interest?"

"Don’t you handle it? Plus, I don’t have the time," Luo Shu said with a smile.

Yang Mujing shook his head speechlessly, "I’ve never seen an owner like you before. But alright, let me just tell you straight. After deducting wages, costs, rent, and expenses, our net profit last month was almost two thousand yuan!" In Jinchen, a person’s monthly salary was only about a hundred yuan or so. For their restaurant to have a net profit of two thousand yuan in one month was something he obviously couldn’t help but be excited about.

"Hey! Don’t you feel happy at all?" Seeing Luo Shu still wearing a calm expression, Yang Mujing grew a bit unsettled. That was two thousand yuan, not just two hundred!

"Happy," Luo Shu said with a smile.

"I really can’t see you looking happy," Yang Mujing eyed Luo Shu.

"Then how should I act to show I’m happy?" Luo Shu asked, raising her eyebrows.

"At least show a hint of surprise, or laugh happily a few times," Yang Mujing said. He had been so happy when he heard the turnover was two thousand yuan.

Luo Shu nodded with a laugh, "I’ll try to play along next time."

Yang Mujing rolled his eyes in exasperation, "I give up on you. It’s like those profits aren’t even yours. So what do you plan on doing with that money? Are you going to save it, or do you have some other plans?"

"You decide, I trust you’ll handle it well," Luo Shu said with a laugh.

"Come on! You trust me too much. Even with Lu Hanmo around, I wouldn’t dare to run off with the money, but what about if I embezzle some, or underreport? Don’t you care?" Yang Mujing really couldn’t understand Luo Shu’s way of thinking.

"Whatever!" Luo Shu said nonchalantly.

Yang Mujing fell silent, looking at Luo Shu for a long while before asking, "You haven’t fallen for me and planning to sponsor me, have you? I’ll tell you, I may perform arts, but I don’t sell myself."

Luo Shu gave Yang Mujing a once-over, "How do you think you compare to Lu Hanmo?" She hadn’t realized in her past life that her uncle was such a narcissist.

"Of course, I don’t compare," Yang Mujing replied without a second thought. Lu Hanmo was his idol; how could he possibly compare to him?

"Well, there you have it," Luo Shu said, shrugging.

"Even if you really did have your eye on me, I couldn’t be so lucky to enjoy it. I don’t want to end up half-paralyzed by Lu Hanmo’s beating," Yang Mujing said with a laugh. He could tell how much Lu Hanmo liked Luo Shu. Unless he had a death wish, he wouldn’t compete with him for a woman.

Luo Shu glared at Yang Mujing with a smile, "Any news from your sister?" If they could get news about her mother sooner, they could reunite her with her father sooner.

Yang Mujing’s expression instantly became somber, and he shook his head, "I don’t know where she’s gone, or how she’s doing. It’s really worrying!" It had been several months and not once had his sister contacted him. The Yang family and Yan Lixing were also continuously searching for her whereabouts, but it was as if she had disappeared from the world, without a trace.

"Don’t worry! She must be alright," Luo Shu reassured Yang Mujing. Did they really have to wait that long for her mother to appear?
